It all worked so brilliantly. The platforming was fast paced, fluid and responsive. The Moskito ride worked really well and I loved the inhale mechanic. The swimming felt more intuitive than I'd anticipated and I found myself really loving the system after a few fast deaths.
I tried out the 2 player co-op with my mum and loved it. She's absolutely terrible at platformers, but it didn't matter. She could coast on my success by simply moving her post-death ghost to my location, where I could punch it back to life. I wasn't being penalised for her crap playing, but it wasn't making anything notably easier for me, either. |
basically, we may have a bona fide platforming masterpiece on our hands? With Rayman 2 in the same series, that's a helluva track record.(Rabbids never happened. NEVER HAPPENED.)

If anyone wants to give me a list of post numbers and an appropriate title, I'd be happy to split. |

It's like the long awaited 2D sequel to the original Rayman that some of us have been waiting a long long time for. And also, it looks like a bloody difficult game, which is always a bonus. I hope Abe HD is as good as Rayman Origins. |
Yeah, one of things I noticed was the difficulty. I really liked it, but the mosquito part was really difficult to even get through.

And everyone I know has been playing Skyrim, I won't see them ever again...:fuzconf: |
:
|
Yup ^_^
I mean, since when has trying to get you to change your opinion on something largely inconsequential been worth it? |
What's that? I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome the new Necrons are.
|
Picked up Skyrim and Battlefield 3 earlier today. Skyrim is fan-fucking-tastic. Im only about 3 hours in, with just one quest done, but I can already tell Ill be spending a lot of time with the game. Focus on archery and one handed weapons with a little magic on the side for now.
Battlefield 3 is great too. Much improved from the Beta. Menus could be a lot better, but other than that I don't have any major complaints from multiplayer. Haven't touched the single player or co-op, will eventually though. |
As of an hour ago, I have the Rayman Origins Collector's Edition preordered.
In KH2:FM I've now defeated the last Absent Silhouette (Marluxia, who is a fucking bastard one he starts rolling around as a wheel) and learnt glide, which it seems isn't enough alone to get to the next area of the Cavern of Remembrance. I also managed to clear the Halloween Town Mushroom after almost fifty attempts. |
I know I wouldn't say anything about Ocarina but thats all i've been playing :tard: I'm trying to complete it before Skyward Sword, I'm currently at the dreaded Water Temple.
|
Apparently some people are saying Skyward Sword is better than Ocarina of Time. ...wut
|
Yeah, Its apparently the best Zelda game by miles.
|
Hey remember that Zelda thread someone made? I think there was discussion about Zelda in there!
|
:
|
Alright alright, sorry. Just figured it would be easier to discuss about Zelda in the topic that's about Zelda.
Anyways, I'm almost done with Mage Gauntlet, a really good iOS game. Some of the last stages are so fucking hard, not to mention the bosses. I wonder how hard the final boss is... |

I've been playing Fable II on a tiny, itty bitty TV next to the giant one that I own that I'm letting my friends play Skyrim on (in between cleaning their diarrhoea out from under their chairs and hand-feeding them while they play). I'm going out of my way to be a dick this time around. I already know that I'm choosing the Dog ending, so this is just to make everything easier. I'm going to be a monstrous, overcharging slumlord. |
Yeah, it is.
|
Been playing through Red Dead Redemption. Fantastic game, one of the best experiences I've had with a video game. Two thumbs way up.
|
I bought the 'Cthulhu Saves The World & Breath of Death' pack on steam... Only played CSTWB so far. It's really funny. Though I'm sad I haven't read any of the Lovecraftian stuff, as I'm sure it'd make me appreciate the game more. Or maybe less. Who knows. But the game has a lexicon and stuff.
It actually makes me wanna read this Lovecraft stuff just to see what it's about. Hm. Still can't wait till I get home. Kind of sad that I'll only get to play my pre-ordered copy of Skyrim a month or two after(I really wanted that map) x_x Boo to you early players. Boo! I also got Costume Quest.... But its kind of annoying on my Laptop. My laptop cant even play THAT game properly(though the stuff I've played through was pretty fun). When I get home, I'll have sex with my PC. |
Having a blast in Assassin's Creed: Revelations
|
:
:
Alternatively Yeah, you would. I've been playing Saints Row: The Third. There's this thing, called taste. Everyone who hasn't played this game needs it. |
:
Oh wait. Carry on. |
Wait...
Saints Row: The Turd. See, it goes both ways. I've been playing SR3 and Rayman Origins. Both of them are like playing extremely entertaining, albeit extremely different cartoons. Rayman is overwhelming. |
I recently found out Rayman doesn't have online co-op, which really disappointed me. Im still going to get it, just not as soon.
|
It's like playing candy. It's so energetic and colourful and happy. I can't handle it. Be sure to play it after eating a salad.

Ending the year with Halo Anniversary.
Fitting. |
So is this the best month in gaming for at least half a decade or what?
It's very rare to get me excited for one game in a month, let alone five. |
I'm playing Champions Online. It's fun but lonely. Anyone up for some superpowered shennanigans? I have group buffs...
|
I beat Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix. The final form was fairly easy once I stopped dying within a few seconds of him using his first attack. Using the Decisive Pumpkin made it much easier than it could have been, seeing as each combo knocked a whole bar of his health off.
I also discovered that you need to unlock The Gathering before you can fight Terra, so I now have to go back and clear Atlantica, then fight Xemnass again before I can face him. I'm only level 57, so I'm expecting my attempts to be short lived. |
Terra?
|
The Lingering Will.
He's one of the new secret bosses, along with the whole of Organisation XIII in the new area of Radiant Garden. |
Ah, cool.
That reminds me, I really should get around to playing the DS and PSP games. Maybe. |
Apparently BBS is really good and is important to the plot. I wouldn't bother with Days and Re:Coded though. Just watch the latter's secret ending on Youtube.
|
I'm going to play Skyrim today, going to buy Skyward Sword next week, Start a new game on Minecraft since it was released yesterday and sort out my money to buy Rayman Origins
That will keep me happy before Christmas :P |
I got a free code for King Arthur with PC Gamer. Not interested myself, I've got a huge back catalogue to work through, plus the other 5% of my life that doesn't involve VIIIDYA GAMEZZ.
Still, if anyone is interested in that sort of thing they can just post here and I'll drop you a PM. EDIT: In other news, I recieved the Bastion soundtrack album in the post today. I had wondered why it had taken so long, turns out it was because Darren Korb is mailing each one personally. I mean, I knew Supergiant were small, but not that small. |
