Abe doesn't have a dick though...or, that's what he wants you to think. Then, surprise.

Yea, I'd expect there would be more giant blue penis than in Watchmen or seeing the Rule 34 pages of Avatar.

STM 12-28-2012 07:03 PM

I'm thinking there's definitely an XXX route for Oddworld to check out....

Phylum 12-28-2012 09:46 PM

If anything we've seen an unmistakeable lack of gender in most Oddworld characters so far.

Manco 12-29-2012 05:17 AM

Gabbits don't follow the trend of having queens, do they?

STM 12-29-2012 05:20 AM

They have queens but not Queens.

Varrok 12-29-2012 07:01 AM

Wasn't it exactly what he said?

Manco 12-29-2012 09:55 AM

He's making a joke about transvestites.

Varrok 12-29-2012 09:57 AM

Oh. Okay, nevermind me, then ._.

Jordan 12-29-2012 10:46 AM

Terrible.

I sort of class everything on Oddworld as gender-neutral. It's one of those franchises where I don't reckon it matters much.

Nepsotic 12-29-2012 11:32 AM

It really doesn't, unless you enjoy seeing huge blue mudokon sausage.

Jbot123 12-29-2012 03:06 PM

You know how in Abe's Exoddus at Feeco Depot they have trains coming soon to Vykkers labs? How would a train, (especially one that hangs from a wire.) reach a flying building that is constantly moving?

Phylum 12-29-2012 03:14 PM

Supposedly when it docks for fuel and/or supplies.

Supposedly when it docks for fuel and/or supplies.

But would it have one specific place to stop, or different places? Does Vykkers labs travel around Mudos or all of Oddworld? Also, on the forums I've heard people say things about Elumer's glue and slurg sundaes. Are these canon or were they made up by fans?

Phylum 12-29-2012 03:42 PM

Presumably if it docks with a train it would have one main dock. There's probably infrastructure for it to land elsewhere, too.

I'm 95% sure elumer's glue and slurg sundaes were fan suggestions.

Vyrien 12-29-2012 03:50 PM

I was lead to believe that there are multiple Vykkers Labs, some underground or underwater as well as on the surface, so there's no reason that the train in Fee-Co couldn't be going to one of the ones that aren't flying.

Wil 12-29-2012 09:08 PM

Elumer's Glue was named in a Dear Alf. Slurg Sundaes were named in an Abe's Exoddus story stone.

Scrabaniac 12-30-2012 09:08 AM

If meeps were used in rupturefarms, what tasty treats did they turn into?

I think it was slog food and treats.

Nepsotic 12-30-2012 11:55 AM

Does nobody else think that even as Oddworld fans, we're reading a little too much into things?
Let me elaborate:

Understand what I'm saying?

Varrok 12-30-2012 11:58 AM

Your broken image link made me understand your point.

Nepsotic 12-30-2012 12:01 PM

It appears fine on my browser, but anyway, forget it, I just think that maybe we're a little bit too obsessed. For example: (I know this has an actual answer but I'm just making a point) "How come Abe's blue and the others are green?". We'd say something long-winded about Mudokon classes, right? Well, the real answer, I think, is that the devs just wanted to make Abe distinguishable.

Scrabaniac 12-30-2012 12:08 PM

How to fuzzles jump without legs?
-things like that?

Wil 12-30-2012 12:22 PM

Pistons!

Yeah, the answer is simple: It's a game.

Phylum 12-30-2012 04:24 PM

I think it's worth noting that we haven't had much new stuff to discuss in the longest time. Stupid, over-thought stuff is bound to come up.

How to fuzzles jump without legs?

Slamming their jaw down.

Nepsotic 12-30-2012 05:27 PM

ANd how do they digest stuff without stomachs? I really dislike the creature design in Munch's Oddysee. In the first two games the creatures were thought out really well, in MO they just fucked them up spectacularly. Fuzzles are a prime example of this. That's not the only thing fucked up about MO, either.

Phylum 12-30-2012 05:40 PM

Who says they have no stomachs? Have you ever seen a jellyfish? Do they look like they have stomachs?

Varrok 12-30-2012 05:48 PM

Nepsotic: Ignores a question, claiming that "it's a game", then asks similar question.

Nepsotic 12-30-2012 06:00 PM

I was developing my point, not really asking that question.

Scrabaniac 12-31-2012 02:35 AM

I agree with nepsotic in the fact that the creature design was lazy for MO compared to the first two games, except Vykkers, they were quite grim to an extent and would like to see more of them.

Varrok 12-31-2012 02:38 AM

I think the Gabbits design was ok. They were fish. Looked like fish. Had fish-eyes. Good times.

Vykkers are not-bad.

Manco 12-31-2012 05:17 AM

Interns were pretty great too, vertical mouths and all that.

Really it was just the Fuzzles that didn't gel.

STM 12-31-2012 05:26 AM

Fuzzles weren't that bad, they might have stomachs like sea urchins or something, I imagined them to have a slightly more developed interior but basically the same as a sea urchin does.

Bullet Magnet 12-31-2012 06:24 AM

Shoulda gone with rabid slurgs.

STM 12-31-2012 06:54 AM

For reference:

http://www.sms.si.edu/irlfieldguide/images/Urchin.gif

Of course there would be minor differentiations, but this is my opinion. >_>

Wil 12-31-2012 08:07 AM

Funnily enough, the first ever picture I saw of a Fuzzle was this:

and I assumed they were spikey, hard-shelled creatures like sea urchins.

Vyrien 12-31-2012 08:13 AM

I'd be shitting bricks if I were that Fuzzle.

I always found the Stranger's Wrath Fuzzles more anatomically correct than the Munch's Oddysee ones (insofar as they could be), their eyes don't bulge out as much.

STM 12-31-2012 08:17 AM

Wil, do you know for what reason those cranial appendages were removed? Or what they were? =)

Wil 12-31-2012 08:48 AM

I don't know with any certainty, but I'd always assumed they were ears. If I had to guess, they were probably removed so they didn't have to be animated.
