So the other queens are wild?
|
Presumably, yes. Those that are still alive.
|
I'm not sure if this can be answered but ah well :P. Has there ever been any offical mention of Oddworld countries and not just continents? The Oddworld map obviously outlines borders but I don't think I've heard any mention of countries (unless Fangustan counts :p)
|
I'm pretty sure Fangustan is the only country mentioned so far...
|
Ah ok, thanks. Just thought that it's weird to name a continent but not it's countries.
|
No issues in Oddworld pertaining to international politics have really been explored yet. Doubtless we'll learn about national affairs when we get there.
|
Yea - when we finally get there.
I don't know if this could be classed as off-topic but I found this on a review for Abe's Oddysee :
But seriously, why did the reviewer make this unimaginative name? http://http://www.ciao.co.uk/Abe_s_O...Review_5143799 On topic - Q: Is there any specific reason why Paramites sounded like, err, Paramites in AO & AE but sounded like pigs in MO? |
They were either placeholder sounds or just random sounds plugged in due to the problematic development schedule. I don't think we're likely to know.

oddworld questions
What happens to abe and munch after abe's oddysey? I haven't played that game since I don't have an X-box
- Is there only boy mudokuns, because i've never seen a girl mudokun in the oddworld games - Why did Oddworld Inhabitants stop making oddworld games, what was the reason? I thought that the oddworld games were very succsesfull.... will they ever start making them again??? - :monster::monster::monster::monster::monster::monster: |
if you have some questions about Oddworld, look here, and if they dont answer your questions, post them on Oddworld Questions & Answers VII which is located in the Oddworld Discussion. someone there will answer your questions.
no need to make a thread about it, but dont worry, we all make mistakes. :D |
Is Sam a girl mudokon, also why would she give all her babies away to people who are gonna turn them into slaves, and eat them? also what happens to abe and munch after munch's oddysey?
|
:
The only known female Mudokon is Sam, the Mudokon queen. This also occurs with other species, such as Sligs and Glukkons, with Skillya and Maggie. OWI have just taken a break from making games. Lorne wanted to move onto the movie making industry and is working on Citizen Siege, a non-Oddworld film and an unknown Oddworld film, which will continue the Oddworld Quintology. He also plans on releasing games to go with these films, hopefully. Hope that helped, ask in Oddworld Questions & Answers in future. |

Read the following: http://oddworldlibrary.net/oddblog/s...en_Abe_and_Sam also what happens to abe and munch after munch's oddysey? They're on holidays, drinking mojitos on the beach in the Mudosian Riviera. |
I merged the two threads together... for those who were wondering why bobtheguy asked exactly the same questions
|
Are they ever gonna release Oddworld: Munch's Oddsyee or Stanger's Wrath as an xbox original in the Xbox Live market place? I want em!
|
OWI is suspected to work on some port for PC that's going to be released on Steam

Are there any Sligs in the nature?

Question: Where do those Egg Nests from Munch's Oddysee come from?
Like, what're their origins and whatnot. Did shamans build them? I've done some searching, but came up with nothing. |
Egg nests? You mean the game play mechanic that most certainly does not exist canonically? Seems like the sort of thing shamans would do.
|
The egg nests are actually small buckets (of a kind) where Mudokons store various fruits and berries and such. The most common thing they collect is a kind of thick grass that they use to weave the outside edge of the basket every time they need to use it. This makes the baskets more efficient because a) the load they carry from harvesting to the village stores includes most of the weight of the basket, and b) it’s a lot lighter to carry back to the harvest.
For some reason Resurrection Eggs favour these baskets as points of Egg Manifestation. This is possibly due to the high amounts of Spooce Mudokons earn (by doing Quarmic deeds, as opposed to harvesting SpooceShrubs, which are too large for the baskets) by sustainably harvesting plants for the village. |
I'm not enamoured by the concept of spooce. It's basically magic. Which isn't a problem when it's left unsaid and mysterious (like the Shrykull transformation, spirit rings or possession) but it seems to have been metricised

What is that red and orange thing on armored sligs backs?
|
It's an inanimate halogen rod. Makes it easier to tell who's armoured on the screen.
|
It looks like a pilot light to me. Maybe for their frikking laser guns.
|
i thought they might have been tasers of some sort.
|
The answer to the question of Sligs in nature is; Maybe.
There are fanfics about Sligs in the wild, but at the moment we haven't seen one in an actual Oddworld Product. In the entire Oddworld world, you can bet there will be at least one Slig that has either run away or been kicked out of their job and isn't in the industry currently. Valet Slig might be out of a job right now. It would be statistically impossible for all Sligs to be in the industry, it would just not be possible to keep track of every single Slig. There might be Sligs that work close to the outdoors, like the Sligs in the woodcutter demo videos. Does that count as Sligs in nature? That's a fantastic picture of armoured Sligs btw. Sligs with tasers would be so much fun, I wrote that into a fanfic once ;). |
:
I believe the red item is supposed to be an antenna. It’s brightly lit simply so players can see them. It’s one of the less well thought out visual indicators of status. |
I did see in earlier concepts armoured sligs with up to four glowing antennae.

I'm not after any of these logo's personally. I just saw them and thought they looked good. I've never seen them before in that hand-drawn computer edited fashion and wondered whether they're official Oddworld or just fan made images.
