My thoughts?

STOP IT!

I agree. It's getting ridiculous now.

Alcar...

Fuzzle King 10-16-2008 08:30 AM

i dunno why its been moved into the "i've just seen thread",as its not even out yet.

Xavier 10-16-2008 10:43 PM

My point is that 1 and 2 were great movies
3 was meh
4 was simply ridiculous...

so if I extrapolate this

5 is going to tear the only credibility that's left off the series.

Havoc 10-17-2008 02:27 AM

You thought 2 was great? I thought it was rubbish compared to the original, especially in the shadow of 3 and 4.

The thing that's so awsome in Saw is that at the ending you're always going: wtf I didn't see that coming. The first movie did an awsome job and the sequels were just as good at throwing you off your game.

Xavier 10-17-2008 08:27 AM

got a question for you...

who the hell is the killer in number 4?

oh even better question

why is he the killer?

oh actually explain me what happens at the end of number 4... it makes no sense to me at all (and I watched number 3 right before)

PS: agreed, number 2 wasn't as good as the first one, but it's still A LOT better then the two that came after

Havoc 10-17-2008 10:30 AM

Hm let me see for a moment.

Okay what happened was this. The movie opens with Jigsaw's autopsy, with the cop who was chasing him all the time standing next to him. If we FFW to the ending you'll notice that the story in Saw 4 takes place at the same time as Saw 3, meaning everything you saw from the autopsy forward was a flashback. The killer was the cop, I believe.

It's been a while since I've watched Saw 4 so I can't recall exact details, but I think that's what happened.

Xavier 10-17-2008 10:43 AM

yes I figured... as the autopsy revealed the tape he swallowed in episode 3...
but it still doesn't make any goddamn sense.

Havoc 10-17-2008 11:35 AM

Well that's what part 5 is going to deliver some background story on :).

Who are you trying to convince? Us or yourself? Hmmmmm?

Havoc 10-17-2008 01:19 PM

Yes you.

Anonyman! 10-17-2008 02:04 PM

SAW SUCKS SORRY HAVOC BUT IT DOES

Nate 10-19-2008 02:03 AM

Finally saw Transformers last night. What a hugely expensive, impressive pile of shite!

My friends kept on saying "Why are you asking a movie about giant robots to be plausible?" But I say that when a movie has an implausible premise, all the rest of it has to be even more logical to make up for it. But just about every single action or decision made by the characters was the exact opposite of what a normal person (especially agents of top-secret organisations) would do in that situation.

Also the Autobots' voices were about as gay as could be. If you played me the audio and hid the vision, I would assume that they were giant, robotic dildoes.

Which is not to say I didn't like it; I did. I'm just glad I didn't see it in the cinema, so I was able to yell at the screen without being chucked out.

Bullet Magnet 10-19-2008 02:33 AM

Fortunately I am able to turn off several reaches of my brain when I see such fi-sci movies at the cinema.

Wings of Fire 10-19-2008 08:09 AM

I saw City of Ember last night, it was meh, it had an over formulaic story that had been done too many times before, the giant star nosed mole was funny and Bill Murray was excellent in his role as a laughably inept and corrupt dystopian mayor.

The advantage of the film's general mediocrity was that there wasn't a lot of people there, it was dark, we touched each other, had loads of fun.

Okay, maybe I really wasn't concentrating on the film as much as I should have been, especially after the first twenty or so minutes.

Havoc 10-20-2008 04:49 AM

I will always have memories of you whenever I hear the title of that movie... :(

Finally saw Sweeny Todd. Ace. If ever there was a musical film that Tim Burton should direct, it was this one.

I took my daughter to see it and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I found it to be far less formulaic than I expected it to be.

Fuzzle King 10-31-2008 06:23 AM

i did see saw v on a good site the other day,and i thought it was 'okay'.
Its getting a bit silly now with how long they are dragging the story on for. They should have stopped at number 3 i think.

Lacy Hemsmire 10-31-2008 07:25 PM

I watched Halloween 5 for the first time. I'm a slasher flick addict, especially with the Halloween series. I've got this obsession with Michael Myers, ahaha. I've been trying to get ahold of it. If you don't know the original Halloween, it's about a boy that (for some reason) murders his oldest sister when he's really little and grows up in a sanitorium. When he comes out he's after his sister with a giant kitchen knife while wearing a William Shatner mask. [: And they made nine movies of it plus the Rob Zombie version.

>_o I've been watching way too many scary movies this month.

Havoc 11-07-2008 03:49 PM

Just watched Quantum of Solace in the theater. Awsome as usual. I especially liked how some of the scenes were edited together and flowed into each other with the music as guidance. I love shots like that and they finally used it in a Bond movie!

Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace have really thrown up the reality level of the Bond movies, and they are set on making a point of it by having all these classic Bond situation in the movies and then putting a realistic twist on them.
Like, a bus drives down below and Bond has to hitch a ride. You'd expect him to jump on, hitch the ride and jump down on his target. But what would happen in real life? If the bus driver hears something hitting the roof he stops! Duh! And Bond is launched into a wall. It's hilarious to watch because you don't expect the obvious to happen.

mudling 11-11-2008 12:12 AM

If I had to hitch a ride on a bus I'd stick out my thumb.
But seriously, can't wait to see it.

Just saw Dead poets society at school, done by an old boy of our school, Peter weir, who also did Gallipoli I think. The school reminds me alot of my own, since it is based on it, write to the uniform, I wonder if we ever had a secret society/ cult?

skillyaslig 11-12-2008 12:50 AM

Saw Shaun of the Dead again. That movie is such a laugh :D
I love the bit when they shove that girl on the tennis pole thingie, and then she staggers back up, and Ed starts to re-wind the cmaera again XD I loled

Tokyo Godfathers. I enjoyed it. They need to make more realistic anime.

Laser 11-13-2008 11:43 AM

I watched Transporter 1 on channel 4

It was utter trash but amazing at the same time, with its tongue wedged firmly in its cheek

Kimon 11-14-2008 10:44 AM

Just saw the end of Scarface with the huge mountain of coke and the machine guns, etc.

I guess.

Anonyman! 11-14-2008 12:52 PM

AND THE REST OF IT?

used:) 11-14-2008 10:22 PM

Cube

Purty damn good. Unstable characters who question morality, the government and even existance itself; who could ask for more? The ending really kicks you in the teeth, though.

It also has some of the worst acting I have ever had the displeasure of viewing.

Havoc 11-15-2008 07:36 AM

OMG cube has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

*Smacks head* I DONT LIKE BLUE ROOMSS!!!!

Hmm, yeah, the acting was shitty, but that really didn't bother me for some reason.

EDIT: I changed my mind. Thinking back on the whole prime number thing, why did it take her as much time to figure out that the blatantly divisible numbers like 545 weren't prime as it did for her to figure out the numbers that were prime? Still a cool idea, though.

Kimon 11-15-2008 09:39 AM

Just saw that Eugene Hutz thing... something to Hutzovania... forgot the title.

But it's about Eugene Hutz going to the Ukraine to connect with his Gypsy roots, and man is it fucking excellent. I would recommend this to anybody who enjoys life.

I didn't want to say before but I actually found all aspects of the film to be shit. The writing, the premise, the philosophy. Everything.

Havoc 11-15-2008 09:56 AM

Yea you almost can't believe this movie had 2 sequals...

Leto 11-15-2008 05:34 PM

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way about Saw, Hostel, and above all else, James Bond. what shitfests.

Hey! :fuzmad:

Did you see a different film? While not a complete festering turd, it wasn't good.

OANST 11-20-2008 06:12 AM

I've been watching Summer Heights High. I know we have some Australians in the house and I'd like to get their take on it. So far, it's been mildly entertaining.

Laser 11-20-2008 08:22 AM

James Bond can't be as good as Jason Bourne
