It has tons of story. It's stupid as shit, but it's supposed to be. Also, the gameplay isn't slow unless you are using Bayonetta as your reference point. The chainsaw attacks aren't lightning quick, but the pom pom attacks are pretty fast. And the look of the game is very arcade, which was done purposely.
I'll probably get it from a bargain bin in the future because it has Jimmy Urine in it, voicing Zed.
It's not a perfect game, but it's fun.
I've always wondered what that 'Catherine' is like. I don't even know what it's supposed to be. Has anyone played it?
I think Strike Witch has. It looks really interesting, but games with time limits kind of stress me out, so I don't think it would be up my alley.

It's one of those blended gameplay Atlus/Nippon Ichi Software titles where a lot of the appeal comes from the 'social' decisions made in between the puzzle climbing parts, which are amazingly well done by the way, and the way your character (Wayne or Vincent or something gay like that) interacts with other people. If you like puzzles and a pretty neat murder mystery pick it up, it's a lot of fun. oh but you'll like like a sadsack pervert because of the cover art :
No, it's not that. I just think the game looks stupid and obnoxious. OH WELL GUESS I'LL GO PLAY DISGAEA LIKE A REAL DICKHEAD |
:
You're a 30-year-old tech programmer named Vincent! You're steady with your girlfriend of five years, Katherine. She's starting to talk about getting married. You're indecisive. Then one night you wake up with a strange, cute woman in your bed next to you named Catherine. Oh, and every night you have this terrible, exhausting gameshow-like nightmare of climbing a constantly-collapsing block-staircase through a demonic tower in your underwear. So, climb and live or fall and die, stay with your girl or ditch her for a new thrill. It's kind of a laid-back story game about a dope caught between two girls, a strange murder mystery that you only hear about from bar patrons and over the TV, and this incredibly challenging-yet-doable puzzle game. Oh, and the game totally quizzes you about stuff all the time. And if you get drunk it'll tell you facts about booze. |

I'm just mad because Shadows of the Damned got insanely boring halfway through. There's not a doubt in my mind I'll pick LC up sometime down the road. Have you gotten any idea how long it is?
Not long. First play through would probably take somewhere between 6 and 10 hours. It's all about score though, so if you like that sort of thing then there is plenty of reason to keep playing.
I had a game overdose in the past week, with Humble Bundle V and other stuff. Played a good bit of Psychonauts, very enjoyable game, currently sorting out the mind of the monster of the lake. The humour of the game appeals to me.
LIMBO I like a lot too, I like the fact that it doesn't really give you any objectives, it just lets you go out there and... well, get gored by various things, mostly. But also to solve puzzles. Amnesia... I knew what to expect, but actually playing the game is a great, immersive experience. Found the lantern and arrived to the Old Archives, that's as much I played so far. |
I do. I do like that very much. Games that let me make big numbers are my new favourite.
On that note, let's talk about So Adell's adoptive mother decides to sacrifice his adoptaDad and siblings to summon Zenon so that Adell can kick his ass and turn everything back to normal as a birthday present or something. Instead, Zenon's daughter The actual gameplay is a lot like Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem; You have individual unique units with different classes and abilities like healing, offensive magic, melee focus and thieves. There are also about 5 million different classes that can be unlocked through learning certain spells and abilities or simply having different classes work together as 'master and student'. If it helps, Disgaea is a series most famous for being able to level up all your characters, weapons, armour, consumable items and even legal documents to level 9,999 as many times as you want, as a character can be reincarnated as a different class or an upgraded version of their current class whenever you want. Playing the normal way (killing each enemy individually) will eventually stop working because your enemies rise up in level sharply. Disgaea is built to be broken. You can pick up enemies and throw them together, combining levels, abilities and most importantly increasing available XP. A simple 'grind' strategy for Disgaea is as follows: Throw all enemies together on the first turn. Use your thieves to simultaneously inflict poison and sleep status ailments on their asses. Poison saps 20% of their total HP every turn, so after several turns heal them by about 100 HP, let them get poison-hurt one more time and then use a spell or item to remove the poison ailment. Then, use assist spells to buff a low-level character as much as you can to one-shot kill the enemy and gain anywhere from 50 to 5000 Levels in one go. FF7 this ain't. So it's kind of a puzzle game. Figure out the best way to combine enemies quickly and without giving them an opportunity to attack you and then kill their shit. It's a lot of fun if you're patient and the story is slightly less horrible than the art makes it look. Also Prinnies are kinda neato. They're recincarnated criminals stuffed into a penguin cadaver that can't be picked up or thrown, as they explode when you do so. |
I never did finish Psychonauts. I really should.
I am currently playing Limbo. It's like a really good flash game but I don't think it's worth the price it normally goes for. It seems more like an experience than a game. I'm now stuck at a part where there is an 'up' sign and a rope above it but I have to do something in order to get there and I don't know what.
Also playing a lot of League of Legends. It's really saddening how bad the game's community is. No one agrees with anything you says and everyone steals your kills. The worst fucking community in a game. |
:
Playing Sonic Generations. The game's very cool so far, completed 2 acts in an hour (no rush) - I hope it's gonna be harder... or longer
:
Not really, most of the CoD community is just pre-teens that play it for fun, LoL community is a bunch of assholes who are never pleased with what you do.
:
To be fair, Limbo isn't a very good game.
Huh? I think Limbo is pretty good, that's a bad thing?
I liked Limbo a lot.
:
What was so bad about my opinion if you think it's good and I thought it's good.

Calling people a gay ass faggot isn't always indicative of homophobia.
I call people that all the time. |
It's called as homophobic speech because they use 'gay' and 'faggot' as if it's evil and disgusting to be homosexual.
No, I'm fairly sure they just casually use it like they use retard.
I mean, I'm not saying this means they're not homophobic. but get some perspective here. |
When people say 'you big gay', they dont necessarily mean 'you like to place your phallus into another mans anus for pleasure, or you may lay on your front and allow yourself to be dominated by another male'. Tjhey mean, 'You're a wanker, you know that, right?'. They're not trying to be offensive to gays either, even Sekto called someone gay before and no one bats an eyelid. People shouldn't take offence from it, althoughI can understand why they might.
:
From what I've seen LoL is DOTA for dummies jacked up to 11. Nothing could make me want to play a game like that. |
Calling people 'gay-ass faggots' because they speak during a match and you don't like their voice makes you part of a gaming community? I guess me and most people I know and part of any gaming communities then and I wouldn't want to be.
If you're not playing any online multiplayer games where people are using the word faggot constantly apart from COD you are probably in an alternate universe. Probably.

Speaking of OANST-baiting, I just finished Braid. Seriously? Was that it? Christ. It was fine, the puzzles were interesting and graphics were nice. But it wasn't great, like a 6.6 out of 10 or something. I remember playing the demo a few years back and finding it dull. I still do. Why did I buy it now? In Indie Game, Jonathan Blow's complaining that nobody understands it. I thought I'd try my luck. |
I liked Braid a lot.

Well, everyone's entitled to at least one unpopular opinion. There's mine.
What a waste of an unpopular opinion.
You could at least say 'Birth control is a sin' or something. I'm disappointed in you. |

I've never felt the desire to do a full speedrun and I gave up on star hunting long ago. That one with the rabbit has eaten hours of my life. |
Awful lot of gay in this thread.
I loved both Limbo and Braid, they were amazing platformers. |
