Also, Crash Bash's one boss was the Komodo bros in some sort of bunker and tanks I think. It also had 'The Bearminator', a huge polar bear in a submarine. I was always so nervous when I got to that part that I screwed it up and then I quit the game and we didn't even have a memory card back then. *sigh* Good times.

I never liked Crash Bandicoot. I thought the games were boring, and poorly made.

Oh come on, how can you hate classic Crash?

Dynamithix 01-28-2011 02:05 PM

I bet OANST likes the new Crash. :tard:

Elmatto753 01-28-2011 02:09 PM

Have they stopped making them yet? Last I heard of was Mind Over Mutant, a sort of Crash of the Titans jobbie.

Dynamithix 01-28-2011 02:14 PM

There's supposed to be one coming this year, Crash Bandicoot: Shadow of the Crime.

Though, it will be utter shit because it's developed by Radical. They only made one OK Crash game and that was Crash Tag Team Racing in 2006.

Tag Team Racing was a spit in the face considering its predecessor was CTR.

I know, but when I first got it I was a child and every game is 'good' when you're a child. Anyways, I'm not so sure about my earlier post if it's true that there'll be a new Crash this year since the only info is the title and that's from Wikipedia so... Maybe the Crash series is just slowly dying away.

That had one fatal flaw: when you completed it and had everything it just wasn't fun enough to play more like CTR was. To this day I sometimes still play it if I have a mate round.

Yeah, I remember when I used to like Every Game Ever. Looking back at my old games collection, it's amazing how much crap there is.

Unfortunately both the Crash and Spyro series have slowly been dying; it's a shame, they both had fantastic roots but now they're laughably bad.

Dynamithix 01-28-2011 03:55 PM

The new Spyro games aren't as bad as the new Crash games imo, I have the Spyro 'reboot' for the original Xbox and it's pretty good actually.

Manco 01-28-2011 03:58 PM

My problem with the Spyro reboot is it's not even a Spyro game anymore - they took everything that made the originals classics, threw it away and built up some "epic" story full of dull characters and beat-em-up combat.

If you're going to reboot a game franchise, at least stick to what made it good in the first place.

I always fucking loved the original three Crash Bandicoot games, but this could be due to nostalgia.

metroixer 01-28-2011 04:12 PM

Gonna play Crash Bandicoot WARPED cause of you guys, thanks a lot.

Also Spyro 1 was the only good spyro game. I never liked all the sidekicks and cutscenes they put in afterwards. I guess that's a poor reason since the core gameplay is the same (and improved) but it just felt wrong to me.

Now spyro is a god of war clone so I guess I have no right to complain.

EDIT: I also tried to play through Crash 2 months ago after not doing so for years. It's amazing how easy I found it. When I was a kid, I could barely pass the third level.

Then again the game always froze for me when I got up to world 2 back then.

I dunno, I thought all the additional characters added a lot of, well, character to the games - Spyro 1 was basically "collect gems and free dragons", whereas Spyro 2 and 3 was all about talking to different characters and playing different minigames to help them out.

A little world-building adds a lot to a game.

Mr. Bungle 01-28-2011 04:27 PM

I'd play Crash 3 right now if my father wasn't hogging up the PS3 with Dead Space 2.

I definetely agree, but I didn't feel like spyro needed that world building. It was just him, sparx, and a bunch of old incompetent dragons to save with loot to collect. Sounds fine to me.

I realize that my opinion isn't the popular one and to have make spyro 2 more like spyro 1 would be really dumb of insomniac.

Manco 01-28-2011 04:30 PM

All the talk of CTR made me want to play that, but it looks like it's the only game missing from my old collection.

Interestingly enough, searching for "crash team racing" on eBay brings up results for CTR and Tag Team Racing - the average price difference between the two is hilariously indicative of their quality.

I dunno, the world of Spyro 1 always felt so empty to me; Insomniac's world building really brought the sequels to life.

Dynamithix 01-29-2011 03:09 AM

I just now remembered that I sold my Crash Bash and Crash Team Racing to my friend a few years ago. Damn it! I might have to buy them back from him. :/

Elmatto753 01-29-2011 03:40 AM

I never sell my games. As a result I still have Donald Duck Quack Attack for the PS2.

Manco 01-29-2011 05:30 AM

I never sell my games either, but I still managed to lose a big chunk of my collection somehow.

Incidentally, never let friends borrow your games just before you move house/country.

Dynamithix 01-29-2011 05:45 AM

I never rent my games to any of my friends unless they'll let me rent one of their games that I really do want to play. Otherwise, no chance. Even though they're my friends I'm always a bit anxious that what if they break the cover? The disc doesn't work after they return it? Oh the tragedy.

metroixer 01-29-2011 09:29 AM

I used to sell games a bunch, but I always end up regeretting it. Even if it's a bad game I still end up having the urge to play it at times.

I hate to admit it, but I'm that guy that ended up "borrowing" a game from a friend and never gave it back because of moving. It doesn't worry me too much though cause he doesn't really care about that stuff anymore.

Wings of Fire 01-29-2011 09:31 AM

The only games I've ever regretted selling are Katamari Damacy, Silent Hill 3 and ICO.

OANST 01-29-2011 09:48 AM

You sold Ico? You big stupid.

Wings of Fire 01-29-2011 09:51 AM

I regretted it about a week or so later.

OANST 01-29-2011 09:53 AM

I can't wait for the re-release with Shadow of the Colossus later this year. It will give me a reason to use my PS3.

Wings of Fire 01-29-2011 09:56 AM

I will bully my flatmate into buying it, along with their new one.

Mac Sirloin 01-29-2011 10:43 AM

If you didn't continuously buy and sell games since you were twelve, you don't know SHIT about video games.

OANST 01-29-2011 10:57 AM

I am woefully uneducated on video games.

You're a selfish prick.

Manco 01-29-2011 12:11 PM

A selfish prick who never loses his games.

Phylum 01-29-2011 02:20 PM

I would happily lend anyone one of my PS2 games as long as it isn't Jade Cocoon 2.

I still have countless (100+) hours left before I even come close to finishing it 100%

Mt PS3 games are a different matter. They're all fairly new.

I've continuously bought games since I was about fucking 9. I have never sold one of my games. I've even kept the awful ones that I've only played once.

What is your point, there's nothing new about that. Also, just to annoy you: :tard:

Wings of Fire 01-29-2011 03:05 PM

I've sold just about every game I've ever owned because I'm not a well off person by any means.

Ridg3 01-30-2011 02:47 AM

My brothers sell my games. I lost Left for Dead 2, Dragon Age, Bioshock 2, FFX, FFVII and Call of Duty 4 and 5 (not a big loss I admit.)

I'm still waiting for a PC port. A boy can but dream...

Played Mata Nui Online Game (MNOLG) due to nostalgia.

Yeah, turns out my rose-tinted glasses must have been about 2 inches thick.

You forgot to mention the games I lent him before.

He better not do the same to Tekken 6 or Mass Effect 2.

Manco 01-30-2011 02:03 PM

So I finally completed all 3 of the PS1 Spyro games.

The Spyro 3 epilogue ends with the message: "Thanks for playing. We'll miss you."

I feel all emotional now. I think part of my childhood just died.

:(

MeechMunchie 01-31-2011 04:26 AM

I thought I was up-to-date with web games, But That Was Yesterday.

Beautiful, if you can understand what it all means.
