Okay, so I won't be getting Okami tonight after all. Because reasons.
So can anyone recommend me a good downloadable 360 game? I'm thinking Fez. Pretty sure Okami isn't on there, or I'd probably get that. |
Skullgirls, Fez, Dungeon Defenders, Minecraft, Scott Pilgrim vs The World

I like fighters but I recently got SFIII so that'll keep me busy for fighters for a bit.
I'm thinking a platformer. Still pretty set on Fez. |

I've almost finished Virtue's Last Reward and it's turned into the largest misappropriation of Schrödinger's cat and quantum physics since... well, the last time Schrödinger's cat and quantum physics were used in fiction.

The reason you can't find it is probably because it was never released over here in the EU. I got my copy a couple of years ago when it was really fucking rare but because the success of VLR made the publishers do a second edition run, you can find it quite easily online. Also VLR rips through the spoilers of 999 at quite a rate, so if you're planning to get into the series, I really suggest starting with 999. |

getting back into mass effect 3 multiplayer
sniper rifles I FUCKING LOVE SNIPER RIFLES |
I completed Virtue's Last Reward. I take back what I said, you'll be lost at sea by the finale if you've never played 999.

I've just been setting up my new Wii U. It took me a while to move over my old Wii data and download some updates but it's really enjoyable. I got Call of Duty Black Ops 2 with it and it's very enjoyable indeed. I like the multiplayer and zombies especially, much better looking than Black Ops 1 on Wii. |
Is the Wii U any good? Thinking of saving up for one but there aren't really any games that have caught my attention (aside from Rayman, but that's gonna be on other consoles now).
And I got the new Mass Effect 3 DLC. It's a huge fucking fanservice, but it has some hilarious moments. A* aside from the horrible, horrible plot twist in the main questline. |
I've heard Nintendo Land is a load of fun with friends but apart from that, nothing has caught my attention with the Wii U. It does look like a great consoles but it lacks games.
I'll probably buy one when the new Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Game & Wario comes out. |

Read the sub-forum title.
I suggest making a thread in OD about it. The weirdos who still like Oddworld all congregate there after all. |
So my brother's been playing Pokemon: Soul Silver lately, and he's kinda gotten me reinterested in the series.
Is Black and White worth playing for someone who loved the first three generations but found IV a bit lacking? |
:
|
By IV do you mean Diamond and Pearl or Platinum/HGSS? Because Diamond and Pearl were a bit lacking.
I'd really suggest BW anyway. They finally have a plot and NPCs with some actual characterization. The latter improves for the sequels, but the plot arguably suffers. |
Ah, yeah I did mean D&P. One of the biggest things that turned me off that game was how sluggish the battle system felt. And the lack of interesting NPCs, yeah. Found the world a bit lackluster, too.
I'll see if I can find it for a decent price. |
Yeah, the sluggish game engine was a bona fide 'beta' error on the part of Game Freak. It's fixed for Platinum and the G2 remakes.
|
I got Tomb Raider
It's really fun, and looks lovely. Story is interesting, the levels are very open and there's lots to explore. |
I picked up Shadows of the Damned yesterday and I played it for around 3 hours and got to the third act of the game, really, really fun. It's like a mix of Resident Evil 4 and a B-movie on acid. That's to be expected though when it was made in collaboration by Shinji Mikami and Suda51. I like the talking skull, Johnson.

I'm about 2 thirds, but:
Lara's expedition is shipwrecked on an island that is covered by a roiling storm. It seems to be supernatural and destroys any vehicles like boats or planes that try to leave the island. There was also something lurking in a monastery, but I didn't get a good look at it before it disappeared. So yeah, but it's subtle and well-done. The game has an awesome spooky atmosphere. |
I got Tomb Raider too. Such a beautiful game and miles better than the previous trilogy.
|
Well I finished it.
Great game, good ending, and Dynamitix: it does feature supernatural stuff at the end, but it's not hokey or cheesy really |
Ooh, that sound interesting. I might have to get it when the price drops a bit. How long did it take to beat?
|
Gonna get the original Metal Gear Solid of PSN today.
Anyone got any tips for a noob to the franchise before he takes the Kojima plunge? |
When he says 'the cd case' he means the actual case.
|
Oh man how would that work out if you only have the digital copy?
|
HEY EVERYONE
MANCO EXPLAINED THE JOKE |
And I still don't get it!
|
I ... Did not realize that was a joke.
|
Good tip. The second one: Don't surrender.
|
Manco, the PSN version basically explains that "puzzle" in the manual. From memory it goes as far as spelling out whose CODEC NUMBER it is.
Read the manual unless you want to get stuck in what must be the most tedious puzzle to force solve in gaming history. |

- Watch out the water puddles, noisy floor, snow footprints, enemy and camera vision, if you like stealth; - Use a Castlevania gamesave on the memory card (you can download it from any site that has gamesaves for PS); - Use a DualShock 3; - Knowing how to switch controller from port 1 to port 2 is half of a certain battle; - Don't ask for more tips or spoilers will rain. |
