The guys behind Marble Hornets just officially started their new series on Monday called Clear Lakes 44. Here's the first video:
Nobody's really sure what it's going to be about exactly, but it does seem to have connections with Marble Hornets considering that it's on the same channel. There's also a tie-in website that's been updated slowly for the last few months (link) that's apparently an old site made by Alex Kralie during production of the in-universe Marble Hornets film, but the site seems to be 'under investigation' by a person named D. Scott. By the way, for the director sign in on the website, the username is 'Alex' and the password is 'rocky86'. |
Marble Hornets was fantastic until it started relying on an actual narrative, and acting. That was the downfall of the series. The first season had a narrative, but it was background to the confusing, and sometimes pretty goddamn terrifying videos that were being sifted through. None of the plots got a satisfying end in any way, which would have been fine if they hadn't subjected us to two seasons of plot development, and terrible acting.
|
Yeah, I think their acting is probably the worst part of Marble Hornets, because it can really break the whole experience for a lot of people. That and the fact that the whole series was pretty unorganized overall due to a major lack of foresight by the creators, but from a technical standpoint I think they've improved a lot. Sound design, editing, cinematography, etc were all a whole lot better by the end of the series, I thought. Some of my favorite entries ended up being in season 3 because of that.
|
Marble Hornets lost it's appeal along time ago, the Blair Witchesque first season was so bizarre as to be genuinely believable. I agree that what it is now is pretty poor.
|
I enjoyed Marble Hornets right to the end. Their update schedule was so slow as to break the believability in places, but I otherwise I thought it was good.

You gotta wonder what on Earth this guy was thinking would happen...
|
He thought he was in Big Rigs
|
Good thing he didn't reverse until he broke light speed.

Oh gosh, reading the comments below this video, I have encountered the weirdest shit
|
I mean, fuck
|
Care to explain why I should care about a 69 minute long video? Who the hell is Christian Weston Chandler?
|
I find it really hard to make a tl;dr version of this. But I'll try.
It's about an autistic guy, who was making a webcomic about his original, copyrighted character Sonichu, which is a merge of Sonic and Pikachu, who also did some weird, immoral shit in life and was countlessly, mercifully trolled (I would say "harrased" fits better) by internet users and Encyclopedia Dramatica Also, urls+spoiler tags act weird. |
People actually got him to drink his own semen on camera, at one point.
|
Surprisingly, I can imagine you as one of the trolls, Matt.

My name is OANST.
I'm sharing this video for two reasons. One: I got the actor, Marc Senter, to call my wife, and wish her a happy birthday, which was pretty awesome, and made her cry like a little girl. Two: I know how much Nate loves this movie, and I know he would want me to share this. |

That is not exactly a thing you should be talking about in public

At least he's honest.

oh COME ON, you're not even trying to post stuff here, are you?
By this rate the forums will slowly become Varrok Forums. And it would not be the first time. These look fun |
I'll help by posting this.
I need one of those ducks. And for the Rick and Morty fans. |

That's not how Jehova made the creatures of Earth

That was too real. I still find it funny |
That was pretty good.
