Sekto Springs 01-10-2013 11:50 AM

Anyone remember Ty the Tasmanian Tiger? That game with the ad campaign that tried to say games like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot were inferior?

Yeah, neither do I.

Manco 01-10-2013 11:58 AM

I liked that game.

Phylum 01-10-2013 01:59 PM

That game was solid and really good fun, but it was completely overshadowed and surpassed in every way by Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy which was released a year earlier.

Mr. Bungle 01-10-2013 03:53 PM

I always wanted to play it because the commercials looked good, but never did.

Nate 01-10-2013 05:45 PM

This isn't a games discussion thread.

Mr. Bungle 01-10-2013 06:52 PM

In my defense, I had just gotten home, was really tired, opened this thread and seriously thought it was due to the discussion. I was a bit confused as to why Sekto was posting in a game thread, though.

Anyways, I bought the fifth season of Seinfeld tonight. Can't wait to dive in to it.

ABC is showing Red Dwarf from the beginning, so I've been watching those. The first series has my undying love. There are so many fantastic moments I couldn't even begin to mention them all. We've started on series 2 now and the Cat's dialogue is already less interesting. I'm getting really excited because one of my favorites, Queeg, will be on Monday.

As much as I love Holly post Parallel Universe, Norman Lovett is absolutely fantastic. His April Fool's joke about Lister being hunted by three Fighters from the power company because he left a lightbulb on 3 million years ago is one of my favorite moments of any episode. I hope that in the future all computer AIs will resemble bumbly Englishmen.

Crashpunk 01-11-2013 08:04 AM

I've just finished watching the first season of The Ricky Gervais Show.

I think I've already said this before but why is it called The Ricky Gervais Show? Karl is the obvious star. He is just hilarious. Also the animation is really good. It makes Karl so much more loveable with that perfectly round head. :D

It had me in stitches in parts so I recommend people check it out.

Unless you don't like British humour...

or Ricky Gervais...

I saw Le Miserables, and contrary to the name it was not a miserable movie.

I did cry though.

OANST 01-12-2013 10:32 AM

Fag.

Saw Zero Dark Thirty last night. I don't normally see war films. I'm not interested by their lack of subtlety, and machismo, but this was not a war film, and it was not some hastily thrown together piece of crap to take advantage of a recent news story. This movie is....I don't know how to put it. It was disturbing. It was disturbing how matter of factly, and without agenda it showed death, and torture. There was no catharsis in this film. It wasn't meant to be that. Every moment was fascinating, though. I never even got up to have a cigarette, which I always do.

Dynamithix 01-12-2013 12:01 PM

I watched Seven Psychopaths. It was all sorts of bizarre. I liked how it starts off pretty surreal and seemingly fictional but ties in well with the plot later on, if that makes any sense. I didn't like Sam Rockwell or Colin Farrell though, but it was still a good movie.

They were making the film and it was going to end with Bin Laden still alive and out there, but then Bin Laden was killed and they changed it. I really, really want to see it.

Mr. Bungle 01-12-2013 07:09 PM

Finally watched Moonrise Kingdom. Thought it was absolutely fantastic.

I meant that I don't like him as an actor and would have preferred someone else for his part, the character was decent though.

AlexFili 01-13-2013 02:12 AM

Watched the Les Miserables TV drama starring Gerard Depardieu and John Malcovich. It was good but a bit long. Also I'm not a fan of those really cruel characters from those types of stories, they just seem a bit one-sided and unredeemable.

Have you seen Moon? Fuck, I even enjoyed Sam Rockwell in The Sitter even though that was a terrible movie.

Mr. Bungle 01-13-2013 09:50 AM

The Sitter looked so bad.

Moon was great though, you should watch that if you haven't, Dyna. It's on Netflix, if you get that in Finland.

Dynamithix 01-13-2013 10:33 AM

Yeah, I've heard all kinds of good things about Moon, should probably check that out some time.

Mr. Bungle 01-14-2013 11:04 AM

I watched Half Baked the other day. Even being stoned didn't save it for me. It just wasn't very funny. The humour was so forced, the story nonsensical and hardly even there, and all the jokes were just racial one-liners or pot references.

Daxter King 01-15-2013 11:54 PM

ugh

Dynamithix 01-16-2013 01:07 AM

This isn't bits and pieces and please don't post Jontron. Fuck that guy.

Varrok 01-16-2013 09:58 AM

I've just seen that.

Mr. Bungle 01-19-2013 03:43 PM

After seeing Moonrise Kingdom I decided to go back and watch both The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore again. I think I still like the former more, yeah I definitely do. But they're both fantastic.

Phylum 01-19-2013 04:29 PM

The first episode of Season 8 of Peep Show was on the other night.

It hasn't been on here for months. I forgot just how uncomfortable some of the scenes can be. The funeral was amazing.

I'm not that far into Fairy Tail but omfg Erza is great

Wings of Fire 01-20-2013 09:49 AM

Wow, you really are a weeb, huh?

OddjobAbe 01-20-2013 10:21 AM

I saw Space Cowboys. It was trash. I'd elaborate, but in keeping with the film's substance, I'll refrain from offering actual insight.

I cried during Madoka Magica

Manco 01-20-2013 10:29 AM

WoF what are your thoughts on the Persona 4 anime.

I assume you have watched every anime ever.
