Spoiler Aeris dies

how could i not know that.

Dynamithix 01-05-2011 10:05 AM

I'm currently at my grandparents' house, been for about 3 days and earlier today we went somewhere to buy something and I was just checking the game section and then my grandma asked if I want some game from there and I checked through the DS section as EVERYTHING else was really really overpriced and old, there was Black Ops for the DS and it was about 25€, I asked if I could get it if I'd pay half of it and I got it.

So anyways, tl;dr version:

I'm playing Black Ops on the DS. As ridiculous as it sounds, it's actually pretty fun(ny). And holy shit, it even has a zombie mode! Which is hard as tits, but a cool add. I can't get past wave 6! I need to practice.

metroixer 01-06-2011 05:22 PM

I got Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 3 off the Steam sales and I am just ecstatic to be able to play them. I've owned the CnC games up to Red Alert 2 but never had an opportunity to get the newer ones until now.

I've played a couple of story missions in Tiberium Wars, the FMVs are cool and stuff, gameplay wise the only real thing that's bugging me is that your units spawn in packs instead of one by one. Also I thought they would bring back more old units like the devil's tongue (replaced by some dumb flame tank that can't dig underground) or artillery (super powerful long range unit, maybe it was for the best?). Otherwise I'm having fun, and I think that people kinda overhyped the whole EA messing up westwood with the game.

Command and Conquer 4 is a major screw up though and it's a shame the series has to end with a whimper.

Nemo 01-07-2011 04:17 PM

I had this looping while playing Super Meat Boy, and I was actually having fun. What the fuck.

Mr. Bungle 01-07-2011 07:14 PM

Well, typically people tend to have fun while playing a very good video game, regardless of the music they choose.

Daxter King 01-08-2011 11:24 PM

You guys I lied. I never ordered Deadly Premonition, Im so sorry.

Also I rented Crackdown 2, fun, but a lot easier than the first.

T-nex 01-10-2011 11:58 AM

Do you guys want a thread separate for SMB? It seems like you're having lots of fun discussing it o.o

OANST 01-10-2011 12:06 PM

Sure.

T-nex 01-10-2011 12:14 PM

Only thing I've been playing' for the passed couple of weeks is Red Dead Redemption.
Freakin' game is awesome. :D Got the Undead Nightmare game disc, so now I have all of the current DLC, along with the original RDR game disc.

If anyone else here plays, could you maybe send me your PS3 ID?
I'd love to have some OW posse members. >=D

Mac Sirloin 01-10-2011 12:26 PM

I'm playing Crackdown 2 which just plain sucks dick. I got to the maximum level for agility (280 of those FUCKING Orbs), hoping that the 'flight suit' would be just as cool as it sounds. It's not cool at all. It's dumb as fuck. Goddamn Crackdown.

If anyone has fully upgraded their agent or anything, do you get some kind of bonus? Is the bonus not the agency helicopter?

Most of us are predominately 360 or pc users. Hazel-Rah plays on the PS3 quite a bit, I think.

I have one. I just never use it.

Dynamithix 01-10-2011 02:24 PM

Currently I'm playing Mass Effect 2 through on Insanity. This is fucking hard.

I'm only at Omega and I only have Jacob and Miranda on my squad. This fucking sucks.

Also, being a Vanguard doesn't really help much. *sigh* Oh, and I accidentally deleted my main save. Yippee!

T-nex 01-10-2011 03:42 PM

Playing this game called Recettear. The description kinda sounds lame, but it's so addicting.
It's a J-RPG about keeping an item shop.

But monsters and dungeons are involved!

metroixer 01-10-2011 04:14 PM

I bought that game during the thanksgiving steam sale for 5 dollars. I really tried to like it but I can't get passed the anime artstyle, dumb story stuff, and stubborn little girls haggling me down.

the whole having a debt to pay per week thing was really bothersome too.

Mac Sirloin 01-10-2011 04:26 PM

It was basically made for no-life aspies who don't have the creativity for Minecraft.

No offense, T-Nex.

I rented this shit, pretty much playing at this point to try and justify it enough to get my money's worth and achievements. Crackdown 1 was better.

Boy would you love the kind of games I play nowdays.

T-nex 01-10-2011 05:00 PM

Dunno... I'm a fan of JRPGs. and also I love the anime style in Recettear :D It's too damn cute and I'm a sucker for cute.

Also, I wanna re-assure everyone that I'm pretty sure I have the creativity for Minecraft. Haven't tried it yet though... But I'm damn creative >: (

I am not saying you are a no-life aspie. That would be a big dumb mistake.

I'm saying that the majority target audience were more than likely the same obnoxious, Cheeto-fed chucklefucks that I bullied in high school.

T-nex 01-10-2011 05:06 PM

Yea I know you weren't calling me one ^^ But I just wanted to make it clear. Cos of reasons such as low self-esteem.. i guess. I dunno.

It really was, and I hated Crackdown. Crackdown had some legitimate difficulty to it, whereas Crackdown 2 is a pasted together mess of Left 4 Dead and Prototype, except not at all because those games are great.

Oh, and enjoy using explosives during the 'guard the beacon' bits later on. And the point where every single enemy in a Cell Stronghold has grenade launchers. And when the Freaks that can knock you over start appearing at night in groups of five.

What exactly is the point of having to bring vehicles to Agency Helicopter pads when there isn't a single vehicle in the game worth using. Piece of shit game. I sold it for pot money earlier.

Those can only be called games in the very loosest sense of the word. What you play are really crappy versions of Dragon's Lair, and even though Dragon's Lair was fun for it's time there is a reason why no one made any games like Dragon's Lair. Until now. Until Japan.

T-nex 01-11-2011 06:31 AM

I wanna play free mmorpg(I like making funny-looking characters). But said mmorpg wont let me log in :-/

Im going back to Recettear/Ut2004....

I've nearly finished it on Insanity: just Reaper IFF, Legion Loyalty, DLC missions and the end mission to go. It's really quite hard, though I've gotten used to it now. Tali recruitment was definitely the hardest mission I've ever played in any game.

Try playing as a sentinel, and get all the shield and power cooldown upgrades and armour components. The Tech Armour power is brilliant, and the only way I know to stay alive.

Way more like Heavy Rain than Dragon's Lair.

OANST 01-11-2011 07:47 AM

But in Heavy Rain you actually do things. Don't you only make reflex decisions or dialogue path decisions in visual novels?

Wings of Fire 01-11-2011 07:54 AM

It depends, although that is true of the type I play.

So yeah, continue bashing.

OANST 01-11-2011 07:57 AM

Fucking Japan.

How'd I do?

T-nex 01-11-2011 07:59 AM

Well Japan hates you too! And that's not even completely false X_x

Would anyone like to see what it looks like when a major gaming company like Capcom decides to just completely steal a game from a small Indie developer? Yes? Well, here you go. Enjoy MaXplosion.

The App store is a complete free for all, Gameloft makes a business out of borderline copyright infringement. Supposedly TP went to Capcom to pitch Splosion Man at one point, but Capcom shot it down. Terrible.

Anyways, I trucked through Crackdown 2 to get all the achievements I can. Game really was disappointing. In other gaming news I got me a turtle beach headset. My regular one crapped out, and I had a gift card to Best Buy so I went ahead and got it, so glad I did. As someone who has never had surround sound in games, its like another dimension was added to them. I've played Halo Reach and the Dead Space 2 demo with it, and damn, do they sound good.

Speaking of Dead Space 2, Im really tempted to get it, especially with this trailer.

OANST 01-12-2011 01:21 PM

I tried the demo for the first Dead Space, and I didn't like the gameplay. I think the problem was mostly that I didn't understand how to play the game, but I didn't really feel like trying to figure it out.

Mr. Bungle 01-12-2011 01:32 PM

I enjoyed the first Dead Space, but it didn't blow my mind or anything. I'm kinda indifferent towards the sequel.

The only game I've been playing lately, is World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. I've been playing on and off since 2005, and I can safely say that I think the game's in the best shape it's been in since then.
