I can't believe that Lex wasn't the systems person. She knows Unix, after all.

MeechMunchie 05-31-2013 03:26 AM

You can actually complete it, by the by.

OANST 05-31-2013 06:26 AM

Any thoughts on how?

MeechMunchie 05-31-2013 06:50 AM

Don't go into the long grass.

STM 05-31-2013 07:15 AM

It's in the title, hun.

OANST 05-31-2013 07:31 AM

Sooooo, stand in the center, and win?

Edit: I decided that I don't care.

Just like real life.

Would have been a lot more interesting....

South Australia's new tourism ad is the weirdest thing ever. Am I the only one thinking that a Victorian probably made it?

I feel like I need a shower after watching that.

I was going to object to your comment about Victorians, but now that I've seen the video I must concede that only an inner-city Melbournian could be pretentious enough to direct it.

EDIT: The tagline makes me think it's a trailer for a sequel to Wolf Creek.

Phylum 05-31-2013 10:00 PM

I honestly can't tell if they're trying to make that joke or not.

Colour television wasn't invented until 1953.

:tard:

Nepsotic 06-01-2013 04:08 AM

How do you know when colour TV was invented. Better yet, why do you know?

Did we really need the foot and bug close ups? Yuck.

Easy answer: The coronation of Queen Elizabeth II was one of the very first things ever televised in colour.

Bullet Magnet 06-01-2013 10:46 AM

There's a distinction between broadcasting colour television and recording film in colour. Colour film pre-dated colour television, as evidenced by this footage of D-day.

MeechMunchie 06-01-2013 11:38 AM

Well, if we're splitting hairs here, a) Queen Victoria died in 1901 and b) YouTube didn't launch until 104 years later.

Wings of Fire 06-01-2013 11:43 AM

So more like Edwardian, then?

Bullet Magnet 06-01-2013 04:45 PM

Now I want to know what Queen Victoria's YouTube channel would have been like.

MeechMunchie 06-01-2013 05:07 PM

"Subscribe, and we shall be very much amused."

Nate 06-01-2013 06:52 PM

This thread bothers me because I can't tell who is joking and who's simply ignorant.

I was this >< close to blogging that and being reprimanded as a post-stealing imbecile. Again.

Instead, I'll make the man look even better by juxtaposing him with this grotesquery.

Just a shame the woman was cosplaying as Neelix, of all people.

Bullet Magnet 06-03-2013 11:40 AM

She's clearly dressed as Jadzia Dax, you noncom nincompoop.

STM 06-04-2013 03:06 AM

On the subject of women, and informative poster, it really helped me out.
