I wish they'd taken a moment to think about this poster and the tagline.

I wish that were a shop. It's like that Chipmunks movie poster. There's no way it can be real, you think, until you see it in the theater for yourself.

I know! Absolutely everyone I've shown it to has had the exact same reaction. I thought the whole thing was pretty funny, especially because when I was a kid I used to love books that would tell me What Life Will Be Like In The Year 2000, but when I read that it made me burst out in uncontrollable laughter.

Not to mention the retro art totally clinches the ridiculous factor.
In the 60's, physicists spitballed that we would have successfully established moon colonies and made numerous trips to Mars by 2005.

The voice of Bart is a Scientologist?

The Simpsons is dead to me.

A couple years back she even used her Bart voice in a Scientology donations video.

I knew pretty much all of that. This really puts into perspective just how much of a nerd I am.

Yeah. Me too, unfortunately.

It's true about Phil LaMarr. He really is the default black voice actor. In fact, the only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Michael Clark Duncan, but he's chosen for the depth of his voice, not particularly for sounding black.

Oh, and Keith David, but he doesn't really sound black either.
So I guess LaMarr's got it made on that front.

Admittedly I didn't know Ron Perlman was Slade, which is odd, because usually I can identify his voice from a mile away.

Thank goodness his voice is nice, and he is able to change it up a bit. Not like with Cree Summer, where if you see a black girl in a cartoon, you pretty much know exactly what she'd going to sound like. Shame too, because she actually has decent range, but it seems like everything she's in lately, she uses the same basic voice.

In a similar vein to my last post: What Disney thought the future would look like back in the '50s.

I love the idea of the machine that builds highways and bridges all by itself.

Shame Disney never got into doing Sci-Fi.

I have to admit I didn't watch the entire thing, but that does show how fast the internet has grown. Judging by the footage this was made in late 80's, early 90's? It's insane how much things can change in such a relative short time span.
