I actually quite enjoyed the first file. There was something quite bizarre about it, I'm not entirely sure if that was intentional or not, but it made it quite enjoyable. I haven't listened to the rest yet.
|
The second track is my favorite. Also, it's probably the most bizarre.
|
Wow, what fucking cunts in your blog giving you their completely valuable "critiques". cunnnntts. if you wanted it, you would've asked for it.
they're lovely. your first song had an awesome harmonics intro. do you play/write much any more? FUCK EVERYONE STOP BEING CUNTS. CUNTS ALL OF YOU |
I like the first track. You singing is awesome.

I think a little critical input is a helluva lot more valuable to someone than mindless gushing and "omfgs it was sooo good ololollol!!" Srsly, this isn't deviantart. |
:
|
Well I really liked track one and two, and yeah giving critical input was slightly dickish.
I give your critique 1/10. |

Hardcore is just noise and reguler songs played really really fast with the occasional added electronic noise. |
Josh, man. Stop. Just stop. It's gay. You can't argue with logic like that.
|
My puny 13 year old brain nearly exploded. He wuz right, hardcore all da wayz(!)
|
:
I loved the timbres of all the instruments you used (including your voice). It sort of reminded me of Sparklehorse, only darker. |
Since my opinion as a fellow musician is so utterly valueless, I'll just keep it to myself from now on.

FYI I am a baker |

Even I was surprised by the paragraphs that followed his post. |
For those of you wondering why the guitar sounds so different from what you are used to a guitar sounding like, it's because it's a twelve string.
|
Did we ask? No we did not. Now shut the fuck up.
The Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs soundtrack continues to be absolutely excellent. Except for the Miranda Cosgrove song. I am underwhelmed. |

i don't think this is a forum for valued musical opinions anyway ;) :

I think he's talented enough to get off his fat, hairy ass and make some more stuff. That is, of course, when he's done posting events on the calendar about how butthurt he is.
|
Can everyone just get the fuck over it?
OANST makes music. It's not really my cup of tea, but for what it is, it's good. Either you like it or you don't. Stop beating a dead horse. |

To Leto: I enjoyed your composition. The subtleness and calm atmosphere make it sound great for incidental music. To make a weird comparison, it's as if Akira Yamaoka and whoever did the music for Pikmin 2 had a child. I'd love to know what kind of film you wrote it for. Loved the instrumentation and the counterpoint between the glockenspiel (if my hearing is correct) and horn-esque instrument about half way through. I was rather surprised by the sudden introduction of percussion. I'm wondering if that was mainly incidental or not. That was nice how the glock joined it in the end though.
And that was my long, pretentious, blathery feedback. :D |
i'm basically a whore for everything lydian (namely the hammering of #4's and ^7's) which is my typical calmycutey 'leto' sound. i was told for a sudden introduction of an old videogame sounding contemporary piece to contrast with the lovely drones to begin with.
it was supposed to be a student stop motion piece that they pulled the plug before paying me for my work, lol. at least it was just a nontranscribed garageband piece and nothing more. |
Leto, you a fan of Absynth?
We need to get together and coordinate some of our samplers, because I'm in dire need of a new set. If anyone can recommend some, you can. |
:
As for the discussion about how things can be done better, I'll say this: I wasn't offended. However, I find recommendations like "There should be some kind of mouth instrument in there" and things of that nature to be fairly inane. It's like watching a guy painting a picture of a dam, and saying 'There should be a tree there' while pointing at some random area. But there isn't a tree there. Anything that I didn't put into the painting, isn't in the painting. Whether or not it would make it sound "better" is kind of besides the point. It isn't part of the painting. Now, recommendations about how to strengthen technique are completely valid. I agree with that. But, as Leto said, it isn't going to happen. Those days are done. It was definitely a time capsule type situation. |
I was also being facetious, Mat.
Fuck the internet and its inability to transmit sarcasm. |
:
You're right. There isn't. But there should be a happy little tree. |
:
|
HEY EVERYBODY WERE DONE TALKING ABOUT MAT'S MUSIC NOW.
|

So Leto doesn't have to bother... AND STOP WITH THE ANIMAL COLLECTIVE DUDE WE GET IT YOU'RE AN INDIE FAG. |
