I sure did :).
I was wearing the custom Oddworld T-shirt had to dress for the occasion :fuzwink:.
Was nice though because wherever I went I kept being stopped by people asking about the shirt and getting all excited when I told them that there was a new Oddworld game being showed on the floor. Got really good at giving directions to the Oddworld stand by the end of the day :p

Cool pictures, glad you enjoyed yourself. You must have felt like a walking billboard :p

If you pay close attention you can see hatches that can be opened on the floor for example. It's a nice and clean way to still keep the original hidden areas without breaking the look and feel.

You can also throw bottle caps now to distract sligs. Handy little new feature that helps out with the fact that you can no longer reset screens and so forth.

Overall I had a smile on my face the entire time. Looked really polished, played great, sounded great, still had challenge, handy quicksave (although quickloading after the death reset had been triggered did fire the area respawn after allready having loaded the quicksave, non gamebreaking little polish thing). Felt like Abe's Oddysee in a modern new package :)

The player controller also felt really great and responsive. Does take some getting used to as I kept using the old games layout but once adjusted it controlled really well.

Very good to hear! It's always good to have the direct impressions from an other fan. Thanks for sharing.

I am a final year student at Digital Arts and Entertainment a game dev school in Belgium.
For the past 4.5 months I have been doing my internship at a small startup game company based in the UK.

Due to a wild series of events and hard work we got invited by Microsoft to be part of the first batch of indies to be part of and showcased by ID@Xbox, Microsofts indie development program. So for E3 they invited a whole bunch of little studios to be part of the Microsoft booth and show of their games to the public similar to what they did this year during GDC.

Still can't believe it that I was given the opportunity to come along, help man the booth and meet and talk to so many other amazing developers and personal heroes of mine :fuzzle:

Why didn't that school exist when I finished high school? I was considering doing game dev for a while but then decided against it and went to uni instead essetially because of the absence of good game schools. Not 100% convinced I made the right choice but I'm happy with my life now so I'm not complaining :)

So which game were you promoting? (besides New 'n' Tasty I mean :p)

Nope, just the New 'n' Tasty one.

Honestly I'm kinda glad about this. I was thinking that if you guys tried to force the old controls onto the game, or rather, try and base what is inherently a new game in terms of mechanics (side scrolling for instance) around the old system, it'd feel clunky and all that.

Also that's so cool Brechtos, are you allowed to say what company you're working for that took you to E3?

Nice to have met you, brechtos!

Spectra 8 bit racing. It's a fairly simple procedural racing game based on music by chipzel who also did the music for Super Hexagon. Place best on a handheld but also works on console :)

I did a masters degree before I started the game dev course. During my masters I was doing gamedev as a hobby and when I had the opportunity to go further in it I grabbed it with both hands :)

That looks familiar. I think BBC covered your game during their (lackluster) E3 coverage.

E: Yes they did.

Nope, just the New 'n' Tasty one.

I hope there will be rebindable keys in the PC version. I mean, even amateur indie Unity games with the stock launcher provide this

I'm so jealous, both for the pictures and impressions you got.

So jealous.
