Pitchfork likes the new Circulatory System album. I can't wait to hear it.

Listening to The Offspring just to...listen to them. Not sure if I like all of their stuff, but they're not terrible.

OANST 09-04-2009 09:50 AM

You're pulling my leg. Please, pull harder. Yank it off and beat me to death with it if you are considering saying something like that again.

Mac Sirloin 09-04-2009 09:59 AM

I don't know, man. I heard like...one song of theirs that I liked on a Machinama (it fit the video) but whenever I'm listening to my MP3 player I skip past them.

OANST 09-04-2009 10:00 AM

Eh, don't worry about me. I'm a pretentious music nazi.

Mac Sirloin 09-04-2009 10:04 AM

I figured you'd have something to say about them. Just the name of the band alone sounds like something you wouldn't like.

Ratatat is still fucking excellent, though.

Leto 09-04-2009 02:04 PM

they are nice indeed, but all there songs are exactly the same. usually this doesn't bother me, but they are quite literally exactly the same

Hobo 09-04-2009 05:08 PM

New Porcupine Tree album leaked. SO SO SO good.

Rich 09-06-2009 03:55 AM

The height of my success. We split up soon after.

MeechMunchie 09-06-2009 07:45 AM

Flight Of The Conchords album. Best comedy music I've ever heard.

The city is alive, the city is expanding;
Living in the city can be demanding.
You pawned everything, everything you owned;
Your tooth brush jar and your camera phone.
You don't know where you're going, you cross the street;
You don't know why you did, you walk back across the street.
Standing in the sitting room. Totally skint;
Your favorite jersey is covered in lint.
You want to sit down but you sold your chairs;
So you just... you just stand there...

Leto 09-06-2009 09:19 PM

2nd season was pure ass

MeechMunchie 09-07-2009 09:37 AM

I disrespectfully disagree.

I fucking love Flight of the Conchords.

And I disagree with Leto too, although the first series was much better. It seemed to parody genres instead of just parodying individual songs. Only programme in ages that I can almost watch as much as Father Ted. The original radio series is also very funny. Especially with Bret and the bow and arrow.

MeechMunchie 09-07-2009 09:42 AM

Bret and his dad were in Lord of the Rings.

Been listening to The Uplift Mofo Pary Plan by The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Hilarious album :D

Bret and his dad were in Lord of the Rings.

Every New Zealander was involved in making LOTR (if not directly, by two degrees of seperation).

Don't understand the 2nd season love at all... It was certainly pure ass.

Meh, Ween is better.

MeechMunchie 09-08-2009 07:39 AM

Foux de Fafa is good. And Ladies in the World.

OddjobAbe 09-08-2009 08:15 AM

Foux de Fafa came out of absolutely nowhere when they made the video for television. So did the one about Mermaids.

MeechMunchie 09-08-2009 08:19 AM

In the first series of FOTC they actually started with the songs, then wrote a comedy show around that.

ziggy 09-08-2009 08:24 AM

I don't really understand why people think Flight of the Conchords is so funny...

Anyway, I just decided to poke around here again, and I'm not sure if this band was mentioned before, but I was wondering if any of you guys like Xiu Xiu? Many people here might hate it, or like it, I'm not sure.

Leto 09-08-2009 09:25 PM

Fuck yes Xiu Xiu.

ISIS/LIGHTNING BOLT/MONO ARE COMING TO NZ (at different times) FUCK YES I AM SO HAPPY

Mac Sirloin 09-09-2009 08:45 PM

So, the Offspring.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Well, they have some okay songs. They're catchy, and sound okay.

But THEN IT'S JUST ALL THIS WHINY TRASH THAT GETS ON MY NERVES OH GOD WHY WON'T THIS STEREO SHUT THE FUCK UP GOD DAMN IT

Half of their shit doesn't really mean any thing to me. It's just something to listen to while I work.

I listen to System of a Down too, but it's the same story, maybe a third of their songs are listenable but then it's BLEHGFDHGFDHGHFHDFHFHFHGFHFHFDGFHFGFHFFGFH

Leto 09-09-2009 10:50 PM

i was never quite filthy enough for the offspring, but i did like a spot of system of a down in my day

can't say I've listened to them in 4ish years though

DOOM. JAZZ.

Anonyman! 09-10-2009 03:58 AM

I like that Chop Suey song.

Doom Jazz? Post a youtube video. NAO

Leto 09-10-2009 01:52 PM

here's the most obviously doomjazz and nicely accessible http://www.myspace.com/bohrenundderclubofgoreofficial
no youtube video did them justice, see

goes spiffingly with playing fallout

They switch it up a bit in LP3. HEYILIKERATATatrrt

Mac Sirloin 09-10-2009 07:09 PM

LP3 is fucking awesome. Falcon Jab has to be one of my favorite songs ever.

Dixanadu 09-11-2009 07:34 AM

I recently rekindled my love for Cradle of Filth by downloading Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder, since Thornography sucked balls. I quite enjoy it.

I'm also getting into Manowar, The Crown And The Ring is quite teh epic.
