I bet it woukdn't run on mine.I've got a Samsung Galaxy Mini, haha.

Wow, you just said a bunch'a stuff I don't know, there.
|
I got AO on my PSX emulator on my Samsung Galaxy S2.
|
That's the processor clock speed.
EDIT: :
|
Man, my phone sounds shit now...
|
My first smartphone was worst than yours and it was excellent. Just because you have a phone with less clock speed, doesn't mean it's bad.
|
Can one of you kids just explain how to send the text messagers again?
|
On the home screen of my phone, there's an icon of an envelope at the bottom labeled "Messaging"
I touch that with my finger, enter the recipients name with my thumbs on the touch screen keyboard, then type the message, and press send. I remember the days of having to type text messages with a numeric pad, I hated it so much! |
The original Baldur's Gate.
I'd forgotten how boring this game was. It's intruiging at times, occasionally satisfying, and I certainly can't fault its mathematical depth. But for the most part it's just very, very slow and boring. When it started crashing repeatedly at the Jovial Juggler, I sighed and ennuiquit. Minsc is still funny, though. |
Good to know there are other people who think the same as I about BG.
|
I like the characters, and the story, and the customisation. It's just very systematic, that's all. Give everyone ranged weapons, park your bard at the back, send in your fighter to tank, comlplete quest, level up. There's plenty of depth, but no variety.
It feels like amateur D&D, basically. Also, the walking speed is so slow. I'll be interested in seeing what the remake does with it. |
I used to play champions of norath ages ago. I played on it recently and remembered how terrible it is.

I replayed Metroid: Zero Mission. Fun game, mindlessly linear, stupid plot I guess, but fun. Butt fun. |
I love Zero Mission, but between the two GBA Metroids, I definitely prefer Fusion. It can be pretty linear as well, but the story and atmosphere are just top-notch. Plus Samus X is scary as fuck. Man, I now I wanna play Metroid.
|
Speaking of GBA, I bought the Crash & Spyro combo pack from my friend that has Spyro: Season of Ice and Crash Bandicoot: N-Tranced. I already have the one that has Crash Nitro Kart and Spyro 2: Season of Flame.
So far I'm liking the GBA Spyros, I'm now trying to find the final combo pack that has Crash in Spyro's world and Spyro in Crash's world. Oh and I bought Syndicate for Xbox 360 since it was on sale. It's pretty fun but can be frustratingly hard even on the easier difficulties and oh god, it has so much blur and bloom in some parts. |

Crash and Spyro Fusion were seriously disappointing, I remember being so hyped for them because it was my two favorite franchises crossing over. Man if Insomniac and Naughty Dog made a cross over back on the PS1, it would of been so good...
Other then that, the Spyro and Crash GBA games are pretty good, Crash XS and Crash 2: N-Traced were just dumbed down versions of Crash Bandicoot 2 and Warped! but were overall fun and Spyro Season of Fire and Ice were great in my opinion. That other one that was a sorta RPG Spyro game was pretty good too. Spyro's Adventure I think it was called. |
The new Spyro gane on the Xbox is said to be terrible. Skylanders, I think its called.
|
Spyro died when they made Legend of Spyro. Heroes Tail was the truly last decent Spyro Game

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest and Bioshock 2

It sucks. But your point of view is interesting though. Have you played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? I guess it's most similar to C2 in terms of mechanics in series.
|
But it doesn't suck. It was a very interesting game that tried a lot of new things. There really isn't anything about it that I could call bad. The localization maybe, but that sort of added to the mystery of it.
|
Let's say I agree to most arguments here ^ |
Let's say I'm not going to watch that, and you've probably never played the game.
|
I've played both, I'm currently on Castlevania III (not completed this one yet)
|
What don't you like about it then?
|
Apart from bad translation (there's a patch for that), the enemy placement isn't really good, the bosses are at least dissapointing (and there aren't many of them). Fight is not really that challenging, it's more like farming. It's a much longer game because of that, but gets boring at some point. Dracula fight is a joke.
The music is cool. |
But....it wasn't about boss fights. And.....there are quite a few areas that are challenging.....and how can you complain about enemy placement after playing Castlevania I?
So basically, you are judging the game based on what it isn't instead of what it is. |
The parts where you had to throw holy water continiously just to know where you can walk and not fall was poorly executed.
:
Most enemy placement in C1 was good (not every), it was made to make the player not rush carelessly through enemies but make some tactics on how to kill them without losing (much) health |
There was nothing wrong with the holy water section. It worked perfectly fine.
Enemy placement in the first was ridiculous, especially once those fucking Medusa heads came out. And the major difference here was backtracking. The kind of placement that they used in the first wouldn't work for the second because you have to constantly go back and forth over the same levels. Back tracking through the first game would have been almost impossible the way they placed the enemies. Hell, as it was, going forward in the game became almost impossible at some points. Again, it's meant to be a very different type of game, so saying that it's bad because it's not like a game that it wasn't meant to be anything like doesn't make any sense. |
Backtracking is a cheap way to make the game longer. And the game felt a bit rushed in development
|
:
The Holy Water mechanic was good, but yeah, the 'fake' floors were a real pain. Some of the platform segments were also pretty hard to get right first time. |
:
So every Metroid game is a cheap piece of shit, I guess. Look, it's fair, and fine that you didn't personally like the game for these reasons, but most of your reasons come down to Seinfeld isn't funny. These were the early days, man. And this shit was new, and amazing. Was it the greatest game ever made? Definitely not. But it wasn't afraid to mix up the recipe, and try out some things that would eventually became staples of the video game world. |
Gotta point out I'm not complaining about Day/Night system, it was pretty cool after you speed up the "What a terrible night..." notification by fix

Wait wait... the towns? ...really?
