I'm liking the torches as well. The little light bugs (? ) floating around is another nice add in, looks very good and goes well with the environment.
The only thing that bothers me a bit is how Abe looks as though he isn't going to make the jump and grab onto the higher ledge; it looks as if it's too high to make the actual jump? Like how in the original, you had to jump at the very, very edge of a platform or else you'd pass right through the other platform on the other side and fall to your death. But it'll look much better in actual gameplay, I'm sure! :P |
I just suddenly remembered how awesome and tense the Nests are. Looking forward to hearing the updated music for those.

Just kidding haha it looks gorgeous. Will the check points be included in hard mode? I kinda like the no physical model check point system. (Ie, no shrine, just a check point like the original. But obviously placed better.) Not fussed, but for immersion purposes, it makes it feel more like a game with the check points added. Like it's a reminder that your in a video game, not oddworld. If that makes sense. Overall it looks brilliant! I'm loving these daily pics :D |
I disagree, the checkpoint looks right at home there. The only thing that would make it better is if it was a puffy bladder that inflated when activated.

Yeah RF already has this Glukkon to Mudokon screen as checkpoint, which I guess is fine, this "wooden" structrue plus magic ball would have been heavily out of place there. |
