But what we've seen of Kinto slaves don't look like they have any eyes, and that's a definite sign of wildlife in early Oddworld designs. Who knows though? |
It's a 100% fact that the next quintology heroes will not be any creatures we have seen before.
A new one every time. |
Back to Kintos I heard awhile back that the Kintos were mainly used to transport same around, due to her massive gerth; and Im positive that Squeek will be a character we've never seen before. Lorne wants to introduce characters at the bottom of the food chain and that are being exploited. A Kinto to me dosen't seem all to defensless, as for the Ratz; they seem to just be ignored by everyone except for the Rasin. BTW whats this "Beep Beep" thing Oddish is talking about a few posts back...did I miss something?
|
There was that one Inhabitant Interview that had a question "Who is your favorite character and why?" and the answer was, "Oh, it's one of the new characters, very top secret...his name is *** ***** and he *** ****** with only a ***** and an ***!'
Or something. |

EDIT: Found the quote: :
|
Mabey one of the quintology heros is caught by other types of industrals that buld and create robots/androids types. Then turn that hero into half machine, half creature and instead of sligs or interns they have robots that kill and only Munch can posses them. Then they go to this nucler powerplant and something happend.
Just a geuss. |
Oddworld is showing the more.. ahem... dodgy sides to modern human nature, so I would assume that Nuclear power is in there somewhere... perhaps something gets all mutated - cue the one of a kind creature again!

No, he was always totally animal. Except for the metallic implant atop his head.
Alcar... |
He was originally a Dr. Jeykle and Mr. Hyde type character, but I forgot how he came to be like that. From what I can recelect it was because of some experiments done on him in Vykkers Labs..

Squeek is going to take place in a city like NewYork or Tokyo. So we could see a Powerplant that would lead us closer to the Big City. I can imagen buses and trains, but i find hard to see cars and shops. I guess bulding will look more cleaner, not like rusty, and they have more wacky designes. A huge statue shape of a Khantzumer holding a torch on one hand and a laptop on the other.
Each Quintology hero will have a more, and more industral main menus. Squeek would probally have a silvery metalic main menu. The last hero might have a glass or jelly, or even your own reflection main menu! ( i need to learn how to use more smileys:fuzblink: ) |
:
they are rather for the 4th quintology hero... but your theory sounds good ;) |
Oo, an Oddworld Tokyo would just be thooper...
Whoever said that, gimme a hug. |
I herd that in a interview with Lorne Laning when MO was going to be on the PS2.
Tokoy, i can just imagen big signs, Srab cakes, Lung buster.ect:) |
and Khanzumers, lots of Khanzumers
|
As the Quintology is the continuing story of Abe’s travels from the distant primary industries based in less economically developed region to the heart of consumerism in the big cities, I’d guess that not until the fifth hero will we finally reach the truly big cities on Oddworld.
Hopping back to mutation, I tried outlining a horror fanfic about a Vykker expedition to some swamp where experiments with a substance (which actually exists, though I forget the name... pitchblend?) lead to mutations and such. Not exactly on par with radioactive sources of energy, though. |

Kentos look like a cross between a... paramite, and some other freaky shit... |
I'm sure that 'head' is rather toad-like, but yeah, they do have the same single-toed feet as Paramites and Scrabs.
|
I realy wonder how that creature cas stand upright... it's like he will fall over if there is a little wind
|
I wondered that too. If I was a kinto it'd probly feel like my first time ice-skating :p
|
They're probably used to it. Their rear end probably acts as a kind of counter balance. At any rate, I don't see how they can be any less stable that Greeters, which have only half as many points of contact with the ground.
But then, I suppose, Greeters could have security orb-like technology inside them, or just a gyroscope of some kind. Kintos may just have a fantastic sense of balanace and awareness of wind direction and strength. *fishes in the dark* |
very good theories Max...
those solutions seems to fit perfectly, epecially the Greeter one. For the Kintos, maybe they stick their claw in the ground, and so keep themself stable |
Kintos have really heavy legs, too (by the looks of it), and their body slims down as it protrudes backwards. They are probably not the most balanced creatures, but it seems that most of their weight is in their legs and the part of their body above their legs, so their weight is centered over their appendages. I don't think their... lower back things (how do I describe the other end of their bodies?) cause too much trouble when standing, walking, or even climbing.
I would like me a Kinto. |

|
Precisely.
And then you'd get the Tex Glukkon installing Greeters on his oil rig, but he forgets to turn them on, and they all fall down. Ah, poorly disguised satire. |
I thought completely disguised satire
|
Ah, possibly, in which case thank you. Has OWI ever performed such specific satire?
|
Ummm... You've lost me there
|
I thank you for telling me my satire was disguised. I asked if satire of a specific event or person has ever been seen in the Oddworld games, rather than a more general parody of Earth. There's plenty enough of it in the Daily Deception Online (the South Meech Diet springs to mind), but in the games?
|
I can't think of anything specific off the top of my head. But of course they've always tried to reflect certain behaviours from earth, like the doubletalk in the Daily Deceptions in MO kinda looks like the state-controlled media from any totalitarian regime you could name (eg the Pravda)
