As for "God is everywhere, therfore God creates evil" I don't see that link.

I don't beleive in the Christian belief of God, but I believe there must have been something that started Chaos, and from that anything, and everything, can and will happen.

Just cause God can see everything doesn't mean he causes everything.
Think of Earth as a test. Your actions are being watched by a non-interfering moderator. If you fail the test, you got to pergetory for a while. If you end up going too far, you go to hell.

I belive it was more like "Jesus/God will forgive those who repent their sins"... or something like that.

The idea was more If you are truely sorry, you will be forgiven. That meansyou can't just run around doing anything and expect to get in, you need to feel sorry about murdering/rapeing/etc.
I know when you're dieing, you'd probably be scared $hitless and end up begging for mercy, but you'd need to ask yourself "Do I deserve it?"

Oddfan, i am reading a book right now. Its called 'The KKK's guide to Religion' and its all about exterminating the dirty, white-girl, raping, vermin Blacks and wiping out the AIDS spreading, dress-wearing, lisping Faggots that plague our otherwise decent world. I know its the true guide to Religion cos it says so on the first page, so this means its true. It also says its Gods word. And states Prophecies. Yeh. Its basically the more truthful version of the Bible.

Oh, so this means that i can wipe out all my enemy's, devour millions of babies and rape countless men and women and then convert to Religion, praise the Lord, live the rest of my life abiding by his rule without wanting to do any of my past misdemeanours again and still go to Heaven? Heaven and Hell were created so that the bad would be punished. It seems as time goes on people are plotting more ways on how they can get to Heaven even though they lead a sinful life. This wasn't how Heaven and Hell were intended. Hell was the deterant. Regardless of if you had God in your Heart or not, if you sinned, you were damned for eternity and a day.

I just think a lot of you need to realize that you all have the same religion. (yes, you can follow 2 religions) most of you follow a creed revolving around stubborn conviction and self indulgent idealization. Idealizing and idolizing are not much different.

The bible was inspired by God, it wasn't written or dictated by Him. I know certain religions take it literaly, but it offers 2 versions of the Adam and Eve story. How can both be right?

The bible might not contain any true facts, other than God created something, and Jesus lived!

I know a devout Cristian who ignores most of the bible, simply because it can't be fully accurate.

As for the "blind hate / blind belief" remark, this is why I don't have a definite religion.
I can't have blind faith! It's a big disadvantage, but I feel I need to see everything for what it is, not for some invisible force that acts on it.

Because it was originally meant just to be some stories with strong morals, like fables...but people took it way too seriously and warped it into a religion. Pretty much like what everybody's done to Lord Of The Rings.

also J.R.R tolkien was a christian and he had alot of time so he made up a new world (middle Earth) and the series the lord of the rings he wrote as a analagy of the bible.

back to the writing of the bible ... i have a comment (as useless as it may be)
it was originally written in latin, correct? and back in the day, only priests could read anything--even in latin. and being the corrupted things priests were (and maybe are? ... anywho) they would make up completely boneheaded translations for the bible in order to make people they liked think they were going to heaven, and in order to "damn" people they didn't like, and so get them to pay big money to "forgive" their sins.

once gutenburg made the printing press a definitive bible was printed in german, and the priests couldn't screw around anymore.

Also the whole Virgin Mary is wrong. A translating error if you will. And apparently the word mistook for 'Virgin' actually meant 'In age of consent' or something like that. Learnt it in Media. Quite thooper. Gives the Bible more credibility...also takes it away cos if such a major thing like that is wrong then what else is wrong?

Don't give the Bible so much credit yet, Chris. To my best recollection, it distinctly says in the Bible that Mary was, in fact, a virgin.

Oddly enough, not all of the scriptures of the Bible were in Latin. Some were in Greek, some where in old Arabic or Hebrew languages... which of course means that there were many more chances to have a "slip of the tongue." Don't make me bring up my timeless and infallible and timelessly infallible rant about the "Sea of Reeds" being wrongfully translated into "Red Sea." :D

These are great reasons why I have a general distrust of Evangelists and the "true" word of God. Biased? Yes. Wrong? Possible. Sexy? Damn straight.

The biggest problems I have with God are
Do I have free will? If not, I'd prefer to have not even have been created
Why did God make Hell? How does torturing billions for uncountable millenias fit into the master plan?
Why is the world so screwed over? If this is the best God can do I am not impressed.

Some of you seem to be using "Adam and Eve" as an argument. Stories in the bible about the beggining of time, are of course, factual. How did the writers know how God made the earth? How did the writers know about Adam and Eve, and their exact story? Do not take the bible literally.

And as for Alcars comments, I agree, but that still doesnt Justify why a pope lives in a gold castle and a humble Christian lives in the streets. Religion is a Joke, really. If you went to another planet and saw aliens worshipping a "God" all day and all night, and they answered, "Because of this book we found, that could or could not be real" you would laugh in their faces.

Let me ask you this. Why do Religions spend millions on building temples instead of doing Gods work and helping the poor. Do we really think that an all powerful God would be impressed by a big Temple? No, Alcar, dont justify what religion does to the world, and Religion is as bad as a money hungry Multinational Corperation. Its sole objective is to make money, and it does it by playing on peoples beliefs, fears and insecurities.

(Oh, and in the 10 commandments, it clearly states that God said "I am a Jelous God", but tell me this, if God is so Divine and Pure, then why did he just Commit one of the seven deadly sins? [Envy])

I personally don't have a problem with religious people, its just when they start to persecute others when it becomes a problem. I saw this thing on Prayer a while ago, and a bunch of Christians were asked "If a Buddist prayed for another person to become better, would his or her prayers be answered?" or something like that, they answered "No, because they're not praying to the one true God. Their prayers will be ignored. Only ours will be answered.". Now, even though we do have some quite decent Christians [and i say that because they think that God will let you into Heaven if your Heart is in the right place and not by what religion you were brought up] it seems that most of America is a rather large, Christian-bastard. This is one of the only reasons i dislike America, because of its bastard-overly-persecutionlyness-of-other-Religions. Its very Hitler-esque.

Anyway, God controls everything aside from us, right? So, why does America get everything from Forest fires to Tsunami's to Hurricanes? The majority of natural disasters happens to America. Surely this is God saying "O-M-G, STOP BEING SUCH WANKERS!!". England hardly ever gets such badness. We only get a flood. I don't think God likes America much.

I do think its a shame though that Americans will never be able to get away from the cycle of the Bible. They're force fed it viciously from birth and even though you get the few Americans who will lead their own way in life, not dictated by a book, the majority will obey the Bible for ever more. Have kids. And force it onto them. Its worrying to think that such an old book is the cause of so much hatred.
