Hey, I said it was a misunderstanding, ok! You don't have to be a jerk about it! You didn't give me real warnings! You said something like, "If you don't stop spamming, you will be banned!" And I stopped posting all together. I get on the next day, and I can't reply! Where is the evidence of my spamming? After you gave me the vaige warning, there wasn't any new post from me! Whats been done is done. I cant take sides in this instance, regardless of my own personal feelings and beliefs. Plus the fact that I am friends with both groups that have argued here, it would be unfair to choose between one or the other. Nobody is perfect as PA has stated, so neither side can deem they are the ones that are correct. Going by a case by case basis this is a draw. I say this though, no one in this case is right, nor are they wrong. Both sides have shared their sides of the story, Grig has been unbanned, and Alcar is just trying to do his job the best he can guys. Hes not a dictator, trust me. He's the farthest thing from it, you cant even begin to compare him with hitler, hitler was a mass murderer and even worse. Please, lets just get back on track here and stay focused on having things back to normal. Thats all I have to say, please respect my opinion though. I kind of missed a lot of all this ... seeing it happened when I was doing my cosplay stuff.
Firstly, most times I trust Alcars judgement on things here, that's why he has mostly the same powers I do, and doesn't have to report every banning, etc to me. Secondly there is a no spamming rule on OWF, as there is on any forum and it is enforced. However I did think that only a 3 day ban is given after your first three warnings, so it shouldn't have been a week. I'd have to go through the posts, but if Grig was given warnings ... then hopefully they were clear and he was sent a PM advising of such. On the other hand if this was done, then Grig should have heeded the advice given and not continued to spam. Sure, we all spam from time to time ... but in most cases a ban is only given if the spamming is excessive. And it doesn't specifically have to be pointless n00bie kind spam, but a lot of few word responses that aren't relevant to the topic are just as spammy also. Abe Babe... |
Well, the thing was, when Xav gave me my a warning, he said "You have your first warning." And Alcar send me a PM around the same time saying, " If you don't stop spamming, you will be banned." He didn't number it, so I asumed he was talking about the first warning given to me by Xav. So, I think I posted once after that, and I know it wasn't spam, unless the Finish the sentance game counts as spam. After that I didn't post for the rest of that day. The next day, I asumed I wasn't in trouble anymore, so I signed in and tried to reply to something, and I wasn't allowed! Alcar still hasn't shown me evidence of the 3rd warning. I personally think Alcar just doesn't like me and that was his reason. So maybe you can give me justice! Even though its already over, I'd really like something to be done.

Yes, I remember the Flooding that I did, but wasn't that what Xav's warning was for? There is no doubt you do have a copy. However, my Private Messages have all been deleted, by myself a few days back. Which I might add, was before you were unbanned. At the moment I only have 2 PMs in my Inbox. The other PMs I have are in the Message Tracking folder.
I don't know why you wouldn't have my PM informing you of your third overall warning. I might have shut the window too early, as I usually do when posting in threads (it's a way of saving bandwidth). However, aside from that. I don't see the big deal with the third PM. You would have been banned anyway, and unable to see the PM, until you were un-banned. Which is how it is for everyone that is banned, they recieve the final warning before they are banned, but are usually not concurrently online at the time they are banned. Would you like to suggest we should email members upon being banned? Or should members know that they have done the wrong thing? Alcar... |
I think the Member being banned should be e-mailed by the mod banning them. The mod will expain what they've done wrong, tell them the amount of time they are to be banned, and then the banned member has the chance to ask the mod that banned him to contact a few people from the forums and to give them his/her e-mail address. I was left in the dark as to why I was banned, and I didn't like it...:fuzmad:

okay I wouldn't normally support the war but were doing it for good reasons most people think that america just wants oil and blood shed we wanted to help iraq by getting rid of there horrible leaders.why so horrible you might ask well for one example the iraq people built a stadium in hope of having football instead the goverment turns it into a torture arena where they hang and stone and whip people to death cut of appendages for punishment and sliting there throats while there hanging those people by there arms so were not doing this for blood shed it's to save iraq from people like saddam.

Just for the record, us normal mods cant ban people. We only issue warnings if need be. Super mods and admins are the only people who have the power to ban forum members.

Yeah, it kinda doesn't work trying to get someone to get rid of themselves. I really don't think it should be up to you to decide when or when not for you to go...I think the Members should be able to decide for themselves who they don't think does their job correctly. Maybe you'll note and consider this too, but not implament it.
