The artwork and environments in AO/AE can only be described as "visually stunning," compared to that of MO (or what I have seen of it). I agree that it would take more time to develop the 3D characters of MO (character combinations of movement etc.) but there's just some things you can't do with 3D... My opinion is also attributed by the thousands of "screens" of gameplay created in AO/AE, each more detailed than the last (remember Scrabania/Scrab Vaults?) Definitely a lot more difficult to create than a single 3D landscape with various "sprites" here and there. Also, what happens to consoles? Anyone still have a Super Nintendo or Sega Mega-Drive, or even a Nintendo 64, and still use it more than once a day? For the sake of Oddworld Inhabitants, I myself do not want MO to become victim to those "X-Box + 10 games for so and so dollars" advertisements when a new console comes out. Computers have been around for as long as people can remember, and it's the only platform that doesn't get completely replaced. Similar components and more upgrades every now and then, but it's still "a computer!" People will always have computers longer than "game-general" consoles, and therefore a dusted, valued and memorable copy of AO/AE will DEFINITELY be given another go  |
