Wow, it looks worth buying, I like that picture, thanks for scanning it in, but I think I'm going to buy it anyway :)

Sekto Springs 11-16-2003 01:11 PM

yes, it's more than worth it to buy the actual book, the image is much clearer, plus it's filled with other mind-boggling images.
it only cost $7, so go buy it and the others

EDIT: hey i found another image that's by the same artist as the one who drew the steef pic, The Hunt, Raymond Swanland, for those of you who have the book, turn to page 170 to see it...

Esus 11-16-2003 01:53 PM

sligslinger, did you buy the hardback or softback version of the book?

Sekto Springs 11-16-2003 02:18 PM

paperback.

there was only one in stock and it was wrapped in plastic.

Oddsville 11-16-2003 02:58 PM

Well, I just went to see the other pic you just mention SS and am confused to is it part of the game or something he just put in there. It looks to have alittle type of Steefy style in it but then again it's very different. Anyways thanks for mentioning it SligSlinger.:fuzwink:

Sekto Springs 11-16-2003 03:16 PM

well, it didn't mention "Oddworld Inhabitants" in it, but possibly it is part of it.

here is a pic of Raymond Swanland

http://www.womengamers.com/revprev/a...ld/Raymond.gif

he looks like a woman

Wil 11-16-2003 03:49 PM

Wey-hey, kudos on the scan, SS, it's quite a sweet pic. I agree the new hunter doesn't look anything impressive, or indeed odd, but it's not an entirely clear picture, and 'tis difficult to judge the anatomy completely. I say give it a chance - definitely more of a chance than the Hickens or slamanders.

Comiserations, Oddsville - I know how much you wanted to return in glory. Just what is Mr Swanland's other picture in the book? OWI says there are only two Oddworld pictures, one being Lulu the Glockstar with the Valet Slig. Is that in there?

Xavier 11-16-2003 04:12 PM

I wonder if you could also scan the others oddworld pictures
anyway what's that in the downright corner, I allready saw it plenty times

Sekto Springs 11-16-2003 04:26 PM

the only other OW pic was one we've all seen before...
the pic with glockstar Lulu and his Valet.

here's a pic of the other Swanland drawing...

Xavier 11-16-2003 04:33 PM

thank you, it looks great too!
I wonder if it will be used by Oddworld too :fuzwink:

Sekto Springs 11-16-2003 05:05 PM

i think she's a he

Wil 11-16-2003 05:33 PM

He certainly looked like a he on the X-Factor video.

Xavier 11-16-2003 05:49 PM

okay sorry about that...
*walks away shamefully*

oddguy 11-17-2003 04:32 AM

sligslinger.....Did you say you got Spectrum 10 for just 7$? If so, that's cool, because I looked up the price for it on the web and it was about 20$ on there. Oh, and I was admiring your avatar. Very cool.

thanx atusiya@

Wil 11-18-2003 11:49 AM

Woah, those two dudes have the same nose... creepy. Additionally, Raymond is a guy's name, but in this day and age I suppose that doesn't imply anything.

Nath 11-19-2003 05:29 PM

Finally my book has come, I ordered it last friday and it came today.

But anyway, this book is terriffic. Yeah there's only two Oddworld pictures in it, and yeah they're not very big, but the rest of the book is filled with other pictures that will just blow ya mind.

paramiteabe 11-21-2003 12:03 PM

Do they sell this at Boarders or do you have to order online?

Because I really want this book to add to my ever growing collection of art books. I have The art of Star Wars the original trilogy, EP1 and EP2, The art of Alien, The Art of Lord of The Ring, and so on.

I also have an art book called "The Last Ship home" which is incredible. I need this Spectrum to add to my collection of Art Books. I myself am working on a story or an art book based upon my own fantasy universe. So I love collecting these books for inspiration. I am sort of building a library of these art books.

Paramiteabe...:fuzblink:

Xavier 11-21-2003 03:25 PM

I would love to have some Spectrum books, but I can't find any in the Stores in Belgium, plus import is quite expencive :fuzemb:

Sekto Springs 11-22-2003 01:28 PM

dont worry PA, im sure you can find it at Borders, look in the science fiction section.

Anyway Xav, your birthday is the same as mine, i'll ask for another copy and mail it to for christmas. If this works it'll be my lil present.

Sekto Springs 11-22-2003 01:52 PM

:D ill addd to my exchange list :D

oddguy 12-30-2003 01:39 AM

Well, I got some christmas moolah, so I went to Borders and looked for The Art Of ROTK. It wasn't there, so I got Spectrum 10!:D Awesome book. I wish they would've had the OW art a bit larger on the page, but oh well. I'm glad to have this book with my collection.

Al the Vykker 12-30-2003 03:14 AM

What section of Borders did you find it in. Im just wondering so next time I go there I can see if they carry it, or have it in stock.

paramiteabe 12-30-2003 04:05 AM

It would run under the catagory of "Science Fiction and Fantasy"

I was there the other night and I picked up Spectrum 10 and Spectrum 1 which is just as spectacular as 10 I might add. No Oddworld Illustraitions in Spectrum 1 but its still pretty fantastic.

I still need "The Art of Return of the King." And I shall pick it up soon. Hey Al I can't wait until "The Art of EP3" comes out. What about you? I have "The Illustraited Star Wars Universe book and it has all the Illustraitions of Ralph McQuarrie from the original Trilogy plus Ep1 and 2 I can't wait till 3. It was that book "The Star Wars Universe" which I glanced at way back in the fifth grade that I said to myself "Thats what I want to do!" And thus ever since Ive been hooked for life as an artist.:D

Al the Vykker 12-31-2003 07:53 PM

Thanks PA! I was leaning towards it being under that category like the ROTK and SW Art books, but wasnt sure.

I am looking forward to the Ep3 art of book. I also liked Ralph McQuarrie's art from the original trilogy a lot. Probably my favorite is the Luke and Vader, original Bespin duel. Anyways, that Stranger artwork is in the spectrum book right?:fuzconf:

Yes, there are two OW pics in the book. One new piece with Stranger, and the other is Glockstar and Slig Vallet. In addition to that, Raymond Swanland(Works for OWI) has four other pieces in the book. Atonement, The Blessing and The Fall on page 74 and 75. Also, Bed of Ashes on page 170.
