Seriously, Sydney your not welcome here, as I'm not welcome on The Glass Asylum. I was simply stating the truth, you do allow swearing and the like.

Yes Peter, and I was pointing out the error of you accusing me of being a dictator. The fact that TGA is a liberal forum that gives members the right to express themselves how they see fit, while OWF threatens its members with bans at the most benign of behaviours clearly shows who the real dictators are.

As you may have noticed, TGA hasn't seen any bitter remarks towards OWF for a long time - we've matured. Please ensure your members return the favour, as you should be quite aware that we'll defend our community as long as you portray it in a bad light.

Alcar 10-28-2002 04:21 AM

Not showing people that they are wrong, when they are just shows you don't care for the well being of your members. I might also point out that you made the rules which stand here today, your simply making yourself seem like a hipocrite.

I actually care, and so do the rest of the staff here. ( Except maybe DI, I think he hates everyone ;))

Now, never post here again, I haven't posted at TGA for some time, and I'd have no idea if I was still banned.

I trust my members enough to let them decide whether or not the language used and topics discussed are used within an appropriate context.

Oh, and the rules for this forum were a collaboration between the other administrator and I.

I, personally, dont believe that masturbation should be discussed as much as it has been...cos, well, think of the embarrassment the parents are going through attempting to explain it...

Children, if you want to bicker and argue amongst yourselves do so, but i would like to point out that either party is capable of taking the other to court for slander charges. Sydney could more so however since you, Alcar, stated it was a Dictorial thingy and t'is not. Sydney, OWF's is a tad more tolerant...

The Glass Asylum has too much swearing.
Your going to be ripped apart in the real world...

AINV_GHOST_81 10-28-2002 12:24 PM

I don't know about the rest of you, but I certainly welcome Sydney here. I don't see why he isn't welcome here. I'm quite sure that the proper amends have been made with OWF... I don't see why certain members still have hard feelings.

Yes, but who says the administrator is always right? Besides, like Syd said, we are quite capable of making decisions about context on our own. That's democracy.

Alcar 10-31-2002 02:33 AM

Yes, but even in a democracy there are still rules.

Rules are created for everybodies good. Not only for a individual but for the whole oddworld community.

I think all TGA member are welcome here. If we don't allow them thats just mean! We must remeber lot of great TGA mmbers were our Friends, colleages, and sometimes Real life frinds who got split up! I wish the would come back! And thats not oing to happen! So please can we jus stay friends with the people who do come!

Even domocracy has its rules, and you even said its what the people think not admins! So what do the people think?

SeaRex 11-01-2002 09:14 PM

Well, TGA does have rules. Obviously, contious spammy swearing isn't tolerated, and we still respect the beliefs of others...

Joshy 11-02-2002 07:33 AM

1. Respect the beliefs and opinions of others. While debate is encouraged, common sense determines that a general level of politeness and civility is maintained when participating in intense discussions. [ To uphold this rule, remember to keep foul language to a minimum.

Firstly i have to say, Whats the point of making a rule when its not reinforced. Well definately this rule is not reinforced.
Lol,

Sydney 11-02-2002 11:40 AM

Thanks for the decent words, SeaRex. :)

happyguy, note the last sentence of that rule refers back to the previous lines, of which politeness and civility are the crux. Swearing is condemned only when it's used to deliberately offend people, as the paragraph you quoted clearly shows.

salty pretzils 11-02-2002 11:55 AM

Alcar, every time you mention Glass asylum, it always seems to end up in comments like:
"they swear too much"
"sydney's a dictator"
"That crappy Ezboard forum."
and I just get the impression every time you mentoin it you imply
"our forum is so much better without Sydney and under me, abebabe and pilot"
You got a mod position. You got what you wanted!
It wasn't you who got kicked off.
So why the hell are you so bitter about it?
This is something I would very much like an answer to.

EDIT : And sydney has as much right to be here as you do, Alcar.

Al the Vykker 11-11-2002 02:25 AM

You know you didnt have to post you can just simply PM or use the emergency panic button also known as report this post to moderator. So technically your post was spam also.;)

A friendly yet simple reminder. Im a nice guy trying to help out and be as friendly as possible Sligster so just think of this as a friendly reminder.

*Sigh*

Sydney and Alcar no offence but you 2 have way to much time on your hands if you are still arguing with each other about the rivalry between TGA and OWF, put each other on your ignore list or something, or perhaps a simple rule, stay out of each others forums (However Sydney is the founder of both, therefore he has more of a right than Alcar to be here so Alcar shut that trap of yours) assuming you are looking for a solution...

Before you post something like that you should really look up the facts.

Please go to TGA, and behold. Or talk to Sydney or someone on TGA they'll tell you the situation.
