Surfacing, stop using the word fag, and stop using the F word unnecesarily.

You've yet to tell us the problem with the gay student using the male change rooms. If it's something like "Oh, he might perve on us," then it's time to grow up.

What's wrong with being proud of who you are? It's great that groups of people who have traditionally been discriminated against are now proud of that attribute of their identity. Whether they be gays, blacks, or whomever.

Regardless, why does it make you so mad? I can understand apathy, but not flagrant aggression like you're displaying.

Might perve on us? Ok Sid if you put a straight man in a changing room full of girls/women that are changing their cloths, you don't think his going to perv? If you think no then I feel sorry for you. You don't have to be an adult to perv on others. Sorry for using the F word so often but what's wrong with saying fag?

So the fact that he might perve on you is why he isn't allowed in the changing rooms? I never disputed that he might, I just find it really pathetic that you are afraid of being looked at. Every day when you walk down the street, people are perving on you. If you can't handle that, then it's you who has the problem. How can being looked at harm you?

The reason I asked you not to say fag is because it's derogatory, much like the word nigger.

Yes but when i'm walking down the street i don't know who's looking at me or what there sexuality is, and it's not my problem if the guy's gay it's his.

Obviously it's your problem, because you're the one who has the problem with it.

Oddness 08-13-2002 08:15 AM

Surfacing, there are probably other gay/bisexual people in your class who are too afraid to let anyone know because of how abysmally this guy is being treated... so, who can tell how many people are 'perving' on you? There's nothing in there he hasn't seen before, so why is he being treated like an outsider?

Gluk Schmuck 08-13-2002 08:48 AM

Yes, i too have been fond of 'Krusty's Komedy Klassics'

And Surfacing how do you even know your worthy to be checked out? In my experience Homophobes have always thought of themselves as 'All dat' and more. Its quite pathetic. If i was to link this to a food metaphor i would say that all homophobes are 'Dried Cheese' and not 'Chocolate Cake'.

Surf, get over yourself...If you haven't realised most gay guys are gorgeous...why would a gay go for a vile straight cretin such as yourself...

I never said i was worthy of being "Checked out" Sid said people perv on me each time i walk down the street, i agreed with him to make a point. I have never thought of myself to be "all that" infact i don't think to much of myself at all. So please next time spare me...

I'm not the one with the problem he is, my class agree's with me so statistics are on my side.

Oddness 08-14-2002 07:26 AM

Has he ever actually *done* anything to anyone to make you afraid of him being in the change room, or is it just because he's gay?

Not this again... Just because a majority thinks something, it isn't necessarily correct. A long time ago, most people thought the world was flat, but it wasn't...
Your class agree with you because you are all (or mostly) bigots. From what I can make out, his problem is that his fellow students are bigots.

That was another point i was going to make...but i couldn't be arsed and went to sleep. Homophobic guys are usually the scruffy vile people. Usually they know they arn't all that and they could have been something better. Being so inferior they then feel they have to make a minority feel like 'rubbish' and say stuff like "So...he's Gay...Blaaahhhhh!!" etc. Its all very pathetic and your kind are a dying breed. Thankfully there is going to be at least one gay in your family generation. And hopefully he will break the chain...

:

Two neighbours. One has a barking dog. The dog keeps neighbour number 2 up all night and thus makes him sleepy.

Who's problem is it?
The one with the barking dog could easily train the dog or get rid of it.
Neighbour 2 could move.
Your neighbour 2. Your 'whole' class is. You could change your views or at least attempt to except him. (I found that a pretty good analogy, considering it took me under 15 seconds.)

:

I dunno. Y? (I didn't read what you quoted...i dont think i mentioned you being banned)

:

my class agree's with me so statistics are on my side.
95% of the world agree with me. Statistics are now on my side. And Surfacing the likelyhood of your entire class agreeing with you is very unlikely. If you haven't noticed Gays are a girls best friend (Second to sex toys) and you will so never get a fiancé let alone a girl friend with your vile attitude. Also, one in ten guys are gay. One in four guys are Bisexual.

I would also like to point out i use the term 'Gay' to bunch together Bi's and Lesbians as its complicated saying all of them...

1. Really? Is that because all your relatives are dead and you're never going to let your sperm anywhere near an unfertilised ovum? Or maybe you're sterile, which would make it even harder for you to have offspring.

Why do you like the KKK? They suck ass. And they are perving on you! Run! Well, I wouldn't want to be in the same locker room with a gay guy either unless he was blind. Then I wouldn't mind that much. The idea of closet people peeping at you while you are changing grosses me out. Think about it, the same behavior wouldn't be tolerated if a guy was lusting at half naked chicks in the locker room, would it?

You have a point there Statikk.

Think about the people who are straight. I would not want a girl lusting over my body when I am changing. I will feel uncomfortable and grossed out. It's not because we are bigots, it just doesn't phase us. I have nothing against gay people it's just, in the locker room it's a different story.

Edit: I hate the KKK!!!

Statikk HDM 08-14-2002 01:38 PM

I know I have said this before, but it bears repeating: If you are gay and believe your homosexuality is genetic, its nothing to be proud of! Come on, whats the deal with Gay Pride week/day/month/leap year etc? It is like Oktoberfest but the driving force behind it is queer sex instead of German lager. Why are you so proud? Am I the only guy in the world who thinks that peoples bedroom picadillos should stay in the FREAKIN' BEDROOM! Also, if your flaming homoness is genetic, why are you proud? I am not proud that I got the deepest, darkest, sexiest and brownest eyes. Their is no "People who have dark, deep, and sexy brown eyes" parade is their? No, because that would be friggin' insane not to mention retarded.
I relize that not all gay guys are like this, but all of the posturing and public desplays are really freakin' some people out. They are ruining the images of other gay people . A few bad apples can spoil the bunch, thats how stereotypes are created. Don't ask, don't tell.

Being proud of who you are is nothing to do with how many of you there are. It's about being confortable with yourself, with your mind and your body, and not being ashamed.

Oh, don't start that again... I've already explained that Statistics composed of Facts can be used to back up arguments, but Statistics composed of Opinions can't.

What will you do if one of them is gay? I can just picture you repressing their sexuality all their lives, causing untold mental problems. When they go insane and start killing people, and have to be sent to a psychiatric hospital, you'll shrug your shoulders and say "Ah well, at least he's not Gay!"...

Why shouldn't someone be proud of something just because they had no choice about it? You don't have a choice of what country you're born in, but you still get Patriots (who are, I admit, mostly nutcases, and so probably a bad example. Gay Pride is about showing that homosexuality is nothing to be ashamed of. It's about rejecting centuries of oppression and showing that they can live a normal life like anyone else...

What are you on about? Stereotypes are the dullest people alive, because they're so predictable, and they're all the same. They make a big deal about their sexuality because it's the only interesting thing about them. They (okay, enough beating about the bush. You) don't seem to realise that you can be gay/bi without it dominating your personality, and that you will be so much nicer to know that way...

Gay Guy: "Be gentle with me..."

You know I was just thinking, this poor guy in Surfacing's class is oblivious to the fact there's almost a whole topic devoted to him in some online forum he's never heard about. I just thought that notion was amusing. :)

Anyway, do you go to a private or public school, Surfacing? If it's a public school, your school can get into a lot of trouble for its treatment of the student. I can picture your school featuring as the cover story on A Current Affair with Mike Munroe: "Coming up next, a teenager banned from his school's changing rooms because he's gay." and the frontpage newspaper coverage to follow.

Yeah, public schools will get in trouble. I think they consider it as discrimination or segregation or something.

I can see it now also, on the front page of a newspaper and people cutting them out and taping them on the refrigerator.
