Yep, Bill is the one who thumps his thumb at the end of AE - notice how Abe says "They were using their skills to build something new," and we see Bill making the same 'striking' movement with the hammer that he did with the pick at the beginning of the game.
He was also actually 'Slav...er...Employee or the...er...Moment'. :
EDIT: Oh, I forgot to say that I started answering your quiz last night, but ran out of time. If only I'd have started earlier, I could have posted it. Oh well. Time works to my disadvantage once more. :fuzemb: I wonder if I might try to compile a quiz...if I can find time, that is... |
oh , I forgot that detail.
the same movement you say? yeah possible |
Feel free to make a quiz Max, I would love to compare my Oddworld knowledge to yours.
|
Oh boy, I can't wait to see Max's quiz. It'll be near impossible. I will definitely have to give it a try though.
|
:
Well, here it is. The same as usual, ten questions. 1. Name all the Mudokon temples we’ve seen in the Oddworld games. 2. What was the original name for the Snoozer? 3. What do the three Weirdoes each represent? 4. And just what is it that wakes them up in the first place? 5. How many Meep do the Mudokon Meep Herders herd? 6. Where do Scrabs go to die? 7. Give the early name for FeeCo Trains. 8. Munch rigs Vykkers Labs with dynamite stolen from the armoury – but what is that beeping sound reminiscent of? 9. What is Vice-President Aslik’s favourite pastime? 10. And why do Sam and Munch sympathise with each other when they finally meet? There we go, just something to get you warmed up. Good luck! |
1. So far we have seen the Mosaic Temple, the Paramonian Temple, the Scrabanian Temple and the Necrum Temple (which includes the Mudomo and Mudanchee Vaults).
2. Uhhh... What-Recycled-SoulStormBrew-Cans-Can-Be-Used-For-Robot? Or the WRSSBCCBU4-Bot. 3. The three Weirdos each represent a different animal sacred to the mudokons. One weirdo (from the Mudanchee Vaults) represents a scrab, another represents a paramite (he's from the Mudomo Vaults). The third one possibly represents a shrykull, but since there are no vaults in Necrum dedicated to the shrykull (that I know of) he probably just represents another scrab. 4. As far as I know the Weirdos were "woken up" when their bones were uncovered by the blind mudokon mine workers. 5. Mr. Owl, how many meeps does it take to get to the center of a mudokon ranch? Let's find out. One, two, three... BLAMBLAMBLAMBLAMBLAM... three. 6. The majority of them die at RuptureFarms meat processing plants... and in the wild I assume they go to the nearest morgue. 7. Uhhh... Glukkon-Head-Shaped Ball Cars? 8. The beeping sounds disturbingly like my alarm clock. It also kind of sounds like the trap used to catch Munch and the good old UXBs (I miss those). 9. V.P. Aslik loved decorating and checking up on the latest designer clothing. 10. Is this even a fair question? They haven't met yet, so how could any of us know why they sympathise with each other? My guess is that both realized how the other had been exploited by cruel industrial creatures. And both are lonely. I have a long ways to go before I reach "Encyclopedia" status... |
1. Monsaic Lines, Scrabanian Temple, Paramonian Temple, Mudanchee and Mudomo Vaults.
2. A Napper? 3. I'm guessing they represent a scrab, paramite and meech. 4. Their bones being dug up. 5. 25 6. In Rupture Farms the scrab kennels. In the wild anywhere they like. 7. Feeco Transport? 8. An order bomb from AO. 9. Buying clothes and shoes. 10. They both know what it's like to see their own species be taken away from them. |
Max I think it's time to give the good awnser cause nobody seems to find all the corect awnsers
and I'm very curious about too:) |
Wait Xavier I gotta try!:fuzwink:
I didn't notice this topic was updated but oh well here I go! Hopefully this will help boost my plight to gain an Oddworld Knowledge title... 1. Name all the Mudokon temples we’ve seen in the Oddworld games. Well, theres Monsiac Sanctum- where Abe and friends meet at the end of AO. Monsiac Lines- Proving grounds for Mudokons, the place Abe found after he feel off the cliff. Mudomo Vaults- Home of anciant Mudokon race that used Paramites as ther symbol. Mudanchee Vaults- Same as above except with Scrabs. Scrabanian Temple- Can be found in Scrabania. Paramonian Temple- Can be found in Paramonia. Necrum- Ancient burrial grounds for legendary Mudokons. The Rasins Cave- Home of the now 14,400 year old Rasin. Temple of Life- The place we see Abe and pals go to drink some good'ol brew after their long journy in the desert. Its found within Necrum mines. I don't know if some of thoughs could be considered Temples but what the heck. 2. What was the original name for the Snoozer? Wheew, I read this somewhere but... ah, damit I wasn't really trying to remember that *starts crying*. 3. What do the three Weirdoes each represent? One represents the Mudanchee, the other Mudomo, and the last represents Necrum... I think? 4. And just what is it that wakes them up in the first place? The loud mechinery from the Glukkons digging up thier bones. How would you feel if you where in iternal slumber for several thousand years then someone places several thousand jackhammers and other types of mechinery right nextdoor? 5. How many Meep do the Mudokon Meep Herders herd? Jesus, I never counted! My guess would have to be 27? 6. Where do Scrabs go to die? My guess would be Scrabania? or the Scrabanian Temple? 7. Give the early name for FeeCo Trains. No clue 8. Munch rigs Vykkers Labs with dynamite stolen from the armoury – but what is that beeping sound reminiscent of? The bear- er... I mean Scrab trap that he was caught in. 9. What is Vice-President Aslik’s favourite pastime? Beating Sligs? 10. And why do Sam and Munch sympathise with each other when they finally meet? Because they where both held captive by the Vykkers. Wow, that was good Max. I don't know how well I did but I hope I can gain an Oddworld Knowledge title like you and Max... Please:fuzsad: |
Okay hear I go *Gulp*
1: Scrabanian, Paramonian, Monsaic Lines, Mundanchee, Mudomo 2: Needler? Sleeper? Napper? 3: Scrabs, Paramites, and Shrykulls 4: As the glukkons dig up their bones if a skeleton loses a bone, the spirit loses that same bone. 5: 25 6: Scrab Heaven: :stare: or Scrab Hell:devil: 7: Asliks transport service? 8: The Scrab trap that he was caught in to show the Vykkers how he felt 9: Making sure the trains ran on time 10: They were both held captive by the Vykkers Hey! That was'nt so hard!:D |

Well here I go....
1. What is the name of the mudokon who helps Alf run all of the official Oddworld fan stuff. Its Buddy, the fun loving happy go lucky Mud. 2. Who is Doctor Chester Payne? He's the Glukkon that was on the Old site. He listed all the main info on Soul Storm Brew, such as calories, ingrediants, etc. 3. When were the khanzumerz first mentioned and what are they? They where first mentioned in the Abe's Exoddus instruction booklet. You first read about them in the Quintology section, they are basicly the main source of coustomers on Oddworld. What with all their money they can buy just about anything. 4. Name all of the oddworldian creatures with counterparts on Earth. Umm, I think I know what your talking about? Glukkons Mudokons wait a sec, don't all of them have a counterpart they are similar to? 5. Were did Bigface buy his mysterious mask and what did he pay for it? (according to Alf) At first I heard that it was made by Native Mudokons, then I heard from Alf that he bought it at a.....hang on I forgot.... Garage sale? and it was two dollars? 6. At the opening level of Abe's Exoddus, a flying slig comments that something smells. What smelled and what is peculiar about his flying equiptment? Well, he had the wing design of the flying Slig harness. What smelled was the fuel leaking from his fuel tank, minutes afterwards he plumited to his fatel death... 7. What did fleeches look like before they became the vicious two-headed worms they are today? The looked alot like the Rasin and they shot acid from spouts at the top of thier head. 8. Where does Flub Fuels get the oil used to make the gas that fuels most of the Magog Cartel's mechanic devices? They mainly get their fuel from Mudflubs, shy little creatures that are filled with oil! 9. Who was Alf named after and why? He was named after Alf Gamble. OWI first knew about him when he sent in his pic's of his Oddworld tattoo's. When they found out about his sad story they decided to give him a whole bunch of Oddworld stuff (lucky guy) and make him a character in the game. 10. Who is Farzad Varahramyan? He is one of the Production Designers for OWI. Alot of his works can be seen on the OWI web site. Great quiz Khanzumer, I hope I did ok.:fuzconf:  |
Well I know you did better than me!
|
I won't give the answers yet but here is Sligsters grade. 1 point for trying, 2 for being close to the right answer, 3 for getting the question right, 4 for adding interesting info, 5 for giving a better answer than mine.
1. 1 2. 1.5 3. 0 4. 3 (not the answer I was looking for but I gave everyone points because I didn't explain what I wanted well) 5. 0 6. 2 7. 1 (yes you are thinking of a meech) 8. 1 9. 1 10. 0 Points Possible-30 (more than three points on a question is extra credit) Your Total-9.5 or about 31.7% Good try Sligster, that test was hard. Oddsville already recieved his grade which was 101.7% or 30.5 points. |
Wow, in my absense you've all certainly been busy. Right, I'm afraid I shalln't delve into Khan's quozzy right now, cause I'm pushed for time, but Question 4, while rather ambiguous, deserves a topic on it's own!
But while I'm here, I'm going to post the long-awaited answers to my quozzy. Ready? Here we go! 1. Name all the Mudokon temples we’ve seen in the Oddworld games. Well, there's the Monsaic Temple, the Paramonian Temple and the Scrabanian Temple in Abe's Oddysee, the Necrum Temple, the Mundanchee Temple and the Mudomo Temple in Abe's Exoddus, and the Windmill Temple in Munch's Oddysee, which is the one everyone missed. They're the easy ones. Now, in Abe's Exoddus, there's also the Temple of Life, which Oddsville pointed out (I told you you knew some things I didn't, although in this case you probably just have the ability to read the writing on production designs with more easy than me), and the Mudoncho Temple - but I'm not going to tell you about the Mudoncho Temple, you'll have to wait. 2. What was the original name for the Snoozer? Snoozers were originally called Anaesthesia Bots, but OWI changed the name to something a little more universally...pronouncable, shall we say. Damn it, I've run out of time. I told you I was in a hurry, I wasn't expecting to have this little time. Oh well, I'll be back later with lots of juicy answers, to both my own and Khan's quiz. See y'all! |
temple of life, intresting. I realy want to hear more about
mudoncho temple. I guess it's the temple of the meeches |
Thats a good idea Xavier! I would guess it has to do with them to, as far as the Windmill temple... well I forgot all about that, you have a good memory Max!
|
Okay, I'm back from a really boring trip to Long Melford, so I can award you with, ooh, a few more answers at least...
3. What do the three Weirdoes each represent? Yes, you've all got the idea here. Three spirits, each with his own area of responcibility and the headgear to prove it. One represents Paramites and the Mudomo, another represents Scrabs and the Mundanchee. But what could that third spirit be the ghostly reincarnation of? Who said I'd give you all the answers? 4. And just what is it that wakes them up in the first place? Well yes, I dare say all that heavy machinery and mining explosions probably brought the ghosts into REM sleep... Actually, of course it did, but an early Abe's Exoddus plot gave the reason of awaking to a slightly different reason: With all the disturbance the Glukkons are making, the dead Mudokons are rising from their tombs and wandering Necrum aimlessly. It is actually these Mudombies that awaken the Mudokon spirits. Pretty cheesy, huh? 5. How many Meep do the Mudokon Meep Herders herd? I'm glad you can (almost) all count - there are 25 Meep in the Meep Herder Village. 6. Where do Scrabs go to die? I meant in the wild, but I should have made it clearer. Dying Scrabs make their way to the Scrabacombs, a vast underground network of chambers and corridors where, to preserve their dignity, the noble beasts line themselves up. Now, though, this ancient tradition has been disturbed by the cheeky meddlings of the Glukkons. 7. Give the early name for FeeCo Trains. Engines of Destruction. Corny. 8. Munch rigs Vykkers Labs with dynamite stolen from the armoury – but what is that beeping sound reminiscent of? Generally correct answers mostly, here - UXBs, the Scrab trap... only Scrabinator said 'order bomb', though, well done you. 9. What is Vice-President Aslik’s favourite pastime? I really meant sport, which everyone now knows is Mudokon Tossing, but my tradition poor phrasing gets you all marks...well, most of you. At this point, you've all got your eyes wide open, your heart is thumping and your skin is sweatier than a McBurger...alright, hold on, cause here it comes... 10. And why do Sam and Munch sympathise with each other when they finally meet? All good answers, but a storyboard in the OWI studios reveals it to be because of a physical affliction they both have - they both mechanical devices lodged in their head. I dunno what Sam's gadget does, but it's there all right. I bet you're all wide-eyed with anticipation of the CGI movie of this tremendous event, it should lead to some good raw emotion. Well, there you all go. Hope you enjoyed yourself, I know I have. I'll returned once I've calculated the scores, though, which will of course be done in my own unique way to confuse you all. |
Is the Sam and Munch thing gonna be in ME?
|
Pray (and, if necessary, prey) that it will be.
|
well thank you for all those infos
what is the Mudoncho temple in fact? |
Max,
Which one is which?: ![]() Alcar... |
Finally the answers to Max's quiz! I did okay, I think. I learned somethings and got my memory refreshed. I should have remebered the Temple of Life (that is the big dome-shaped one inside the necrum mines right?). I always was impressed by the size of it's doors. I wonder what controls them?
I am interested to learn about the Mudoncho Temple. I haven't heard of that before and I won't be able to sleep until I know (okay maybe I will, but you get the point). As for Aslik. Yes Mudokon Tossing is his favorite sport. I should have included that to be safe but I thought that decorating was the answer you were looking for. |
:
:
Makes sense, since Scrabs are famous for their spikes, Paramites for their face fingers and, to a lesser degree, Meeches for their spike-things. I also find it quite symbolic, since Paramites and Scrabs were at the time, dying out, and so each representative has lost a limb, but Meeches were extinct, and so their representative had lost a lot more of his 'body'. :
|

well we will wait |
I've been looking around the older versions of the oddworld website. Thats where you would have got some of questions for your quizzes.
I know that a few people here know how to do that, I think Xavier found out how when I showed him the earlier versions of the Oddworld Forums on the ezboard...I think I should have blacked out the addresses... ;) j/k Alcar... |
I found, yeah.
it was strange. Alcar, did you saw info's about mudoncho? |
Nope, I haven't although im searching.
Are all the quizzes in here over, or are there still some running? Alcar... |
Well, I might be starting on up soon seince the Khanzumer and Max seem to have made much harder ones that me and I feel that its my duty make a fairly hard one to go with thiers.
Oh yeah, and Khanz is gotta give the answers to his... |
please make a not-to-hard one.
so other members can try to awnser them. personnaly I can't make good quizzes. I'm only a picture expert |
Okay here are the answers to my quiz since it dosn't look like anyone else wants to try it (if you do then don't cheat and I'll still grade you).
1. The mudokon who helps Alf with all of the fan-relations stuff is named Buddy. He has been mentioned by Alf in some of the Dear Alf answers and also on the forums if memory serves me well. 2. Doctor Chester Payne is a glukkon who studied the nutritional value of SoulStorm Brew to promote it to costumers. He was one of the three Junior Executives who Abe overheard talking about "the boiler" in AE. An article by him was posted on the early official Oddworld website. 3. The khanzumerz were first mentioned in the manual for Abe's Exoddus. They are the most important race on oddworld because they are the ones who consume the majority of goods produced by the Magog Cartel and Vykkers Conglomerate. They are also rumoured to be truley evil, not doing anything for the products which are made for them. 4. I didn't ask this question well but this is what I wanted. The oddworld creatures with counterparts on earth are birds, bats, bees and skrikits. They almost exactly resemble creatures found on earth. Now do you understand what I was asking? Sorry. 5. Bigface bought his mysterious mask at a junk shop for some comic books. Supposedly it was because he thought it made him look sexy... and it hides his buck teeth. (all according to Alf) 6. What smelled was the fuel of the sligs flying gear leaking and mixing with the lubricants. He then plummeted to his death as his equiptment burned him to cinders. His flying gear was an early winged version which was soon replaced by the cheaper (and less likely to blow up) helicopter design. 7. An early concept sketch of a fleech shows that originaly they were going to be fleshy balls with razor-toothed jaws. They also had a small hole which they shot acid out of. I believe that this design was the inspiration for the fuzzles. 8. Flub Fuels squeezes oil out of river dwelling creatures called mudflubs. Mudflub oil is then used to create the fuel used in many Magog Cartel machines including slig pants. 9. Our beloved mudokon pal Alf was name after Alfred Gamble, a man whos wife had recently passed away. He turned to playing Oddworld: Abes Oddysee to overcome his sadness. His tragic story earned him a character in the oddworld universe. 10. Farzad is a member of OWI. He is the Senior Production Designer (last time I checked) and drew most of the concetpt pictures we enjoy. |
Thanks Khanzs, my next quiz will be comming soon once I can rally together some decent questions.:fuzwink:
|
I'll just bring this back to everyone's attention so you don't forget your quiz, Oddsville.
Oh, and while I'm here I think I'll post a mini quiz. 1. How do Skeeters fly? 2. Name/identify four facilities/franchises we have heard of but have yet to see in the Oddworld games. 3. What is 'Viewpoint Datalabs'? 4. What is 'StoryDwelling Company'? 5. How does Splinterz harvest trees? Just something small for now, cause I know you love these things. |
Man, these questions are getting hard! I can barely get any of Max's questions.
|
My quiz'll be comming real soon... but in the mean time I'll answer this.
1. How do Skeeters fly? Well, I would guess with thier four wings, but I could be wrong? 2. Name/identify four facilities/franchises we have heard of but have yet to see in the Oddworld games. Well one is the Native Watch towers (the one where you have to use the well at the bottom to get in), the next (not too sure) is the Rupture Farms ruins, and um.... next is the industrial Gaurd tower (the one we see in the Slig run video), and last is the mini Alf's Rehab and Tea huts. 3. What is 'Viewpoint Datalabs'? Whaaaa? this sound extreemly familiar but I can't put a finger on it. I think it was (and hopefully still is) gonna be in ME, either that or its a real company? 4. What is 'StoryDwelling Company'? Never heard of it. 5. How does Splinterz harvest trees? Either by Mud employees sawing them down with their Chainsaws (which I think are made by BlowCo.) or thoughs helecopters we saw in previews of MO. |
I can only answer one of those.
4. StoryDwelling Company makes OWI able to put living creatures in the little message boxes that Abe puts his hand on, like when they have the one that says how to call a slig when you're a Glukkon, they have an example with a Glukkon and a slig spawner on the top. |
mac... is that true???
that's a bit unbelievable |
StoryDwelling is a company on Earth, not on Oddworld. That's a feature in the game.
|
1. With there wings?
2. An amusement park, a bar, a guard tower and a mini splinterz. 3. Something to do with Vykkers Labs? 4. I have recently been playing AE and I noticed a little storydwelling logo on the storystones so I guess that they make the storystones in the factories?:fuzconf: 5.With recyclers. |
