If you can call a society where trends come and go without a true philosophical point, where people are becoming more and more downright too lazy to even think "advanced"... I wouldn't say so. We're still far above the animals, because we have the power of imagination, but that donn make us all perfect. Face it, most people these days are dumb, and most of those people choose to be. At least it's the case here in germany - geez, some people go so far that they actively CHOOSE not to work, just because the state will support their worthless hinney's despite that lazy attitude... ahem... (please note I am speaking about those that really are too lazy too work, not those who really can't help it.)

What did Manson say? "Take an IQ test before you decide to breed.", or something along those lines.

En contraire, IQ isn't nonsense. What most people make of it, however, is. A lot of people seem to assume that if you have a high IQ, you know more. That is bullshit. IQ measures the balance of your intelligence and your emotions, and the amout of that, in approximation. That in turn is how well you learn things [yea, I argumented backwards in account to what IQ means, but it comes down to the intelligence/emotion balance eventually].

It's a misused and abused (and seen as too absolute a) term (by most), like so many. But not nonsense.

And you shouldn't take Manson as literally as to think with IQ test he means these incompetent sheets of paper asking you to apply your knowledge unto. I assume what he means has yet to be invented ;) (like a 'think more' spray, something one of my internet friends would love to invent)

The point is that IQ tries to measure intelligence with a pre-set series of questions. Malarky. If there were six billion questions on that test, chances are it would on give a ridiculously sketchy and useless approximation of your intelligence.

If you ask me, it's the stupid people who are the smart ones, they just get to skid by in life giggling stupidly, leaving us to make chemicals and do philosophy.

Er, no. You're talking about IQ-tests, which have little to do with IQ in itself. IQ does not measure according to the questions in IQ-tests, the IQ-test measures it and claims it knows you IQ. See the difference? I don't like IQ tests either, they're incompetent, but the idea of IQ is very good, we just have to find a way to figure it out without using those annoying sheets!

Heck, according to www.iqtest.com my IQ is 160. All I can say is: Yea right, rubbish.
