eah, she said she lived in Rochester. I think thats just outside New York City. I hope she's okay.

*sighs* It's so sad! I kept thinking "What if you were just walking those street, to the store and you see the plane going down. First you think it's nothing, then in a split second it collides with the WTC and your just standing there in pure shock. Then another plan crashes into the other tower and they start to collapse. Then you run as fast as you can, but not fast enough and your engulfed by the black smoke and stuggling to breath, or you get smacking in the head with a chunk of metal.... Its sad. Here the pic I made in honor of the dead people: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Pokewa...nArte_Arte.JPG

It is all over Australia news.It is on all of the time.We don't even have a sports report or even weather since this started.
|
Yea, the day was going fine untill they decided to do this
|
My mom woke me up at 6 a.m to show me what had happned. I almost cried right then and there.

Wow...everyone here is so caring! Never seen any topic get to over 40 posts in less than a whole day!
BTW, I'm leaving out my signature because I guess it would be sort of offencive to some people (at this time, with the plane crashings). |
This is so horrible...I'm still kind of numb...It's so wrong. But I just want to say that as far as we know, only 4 planes were hijacked, not 8. This is such a horrible event... :(

I wish humanity didn't do things like this...Words cannot describe it...
[ September 15, 2001: Message edited by: FuzzyFuzzle ] |
It's horrendous, we just don't expect things like this to happen. I'm still having trouble taking it all in, the death toll is going to be horrific.
It's such a shame that people need to end innocent lives to communicate their ideas. I too, was repulsed when they showed footage of Palestinians celebrating the deaths of thousands of people. It's inhuman. The scale of this thing is enormous. I hope Pinkhaired is alright. So if you're around Pink, let us know! |
I'm really freaked out by this... it scares me as to what has happened, and saddened how such innocent lives were lost in this attack. Why are terrorists so heartless to make victims of everyday people like all of us.
I found out last night when I was coming home from seeing the FF movie (again). Then when I was just about to get home and they said about the attack on the Pentagon too. I'm also freaked out by the fact that I could have been in the US at this time. Because the Xbox was coming out in November I thought maybe I would go in September this year. I thank god that I decided not to go this year. I was in the US at this time 3 years ago. I may not have gone to NY, but I might have been in Washington as one of my NFL teams is the Redskins. And as a travller, you could be on one of those planes. It's just too freaky to think about. My condononces go out to anyone on the forums, at OWI, or in the US/world that may have family and friends affected directly by this. I hope PinkHaired is safe also, being the only forum member we know of in that city. Abe Babe... [ September 11, 2001: Message edited by: Abe Babe ] |
Here's something thought-provoking, and rather frightening:
:
|
Why would someone want to kill innocent people like that.I really feel for the families of those unfortunent people.
And if you think that THAT is bad, once we catch this guy,The economy is going to go right down and people will lose business's.This is bad.But not as bad as the fact that what happend at Kabul the possibilities are that you guys will go to war wit them and then there are more possibilities that we might have World War 3 where more innocent people will get killed or lose someone.Infact if WW3 comes out,Almost everyone will DIE.And that ain't no lie. I have mixed emotions.Sorrow and fear. |
Well, keep it in mind that Nostrodamis, or however you spell his name, said that the world would end in 1999. On the day he said the word would end, nothing much happend.
If WW3 does break out, then were doomed. - DH |
I am really scared of that. I hope it's just a terrorist group behind it rather than a country. If it's a country it will be a war, but if it's a group it would be unlikely.
I really don't want to be living when a war is happening... it is too scary to even think about. If such a thing had to happen, I would rather it happen after I have died. It is a scary thought that our generation has in the back of their minds. Abe Babe... |
I do know that.Knowing that I just can't stop shivering.
|
as I was chatting with DH, BD, and Mel about this I had its cold chill that didn't go away for 5 mins at least! *shudders* I pray there is no war...cause that would mean I would end up in the thick of it...(being military an' all) *shudders again* I'll repeat what I said before...I hope those @#@$^@* bastards that did this burn in hell!
Two of my younger brothers friends were on one of those planes! This has directly effected me and my family! *sparks fly from her mane* ooooo if only...if only...i could rip those @%@$^@ to shreds personnally! (sorry for the RP...had to let that out...) |
Say it all ya want,I'd feel the same way if it happend to me.
|
I don't know if it's true... but someone at work here just heard a report that a semi-trailer was stopped on the Washington Bridge going full speed packed full of explosives.
Dragdaon... my sympathies go out to your brother's friend. Abe Babe... |
Abe Babe: Yes, that's true, but they did arrest those people before the bomb exploded.
Dragadon: I am reallyy sorry for your brother's friends. I hope those hijackers burn in hell. Everyone else: No, there will not be a world war 3. Bush will probably just send in the military to kill the guy behind it. Everything will be alright, no need to freak out. All that will happen is that all air ports will have more security from now on. Here's a thought. Couldn't a plane full of people beat two terrorists to death? I know they were frightened, but it wouldn't they eventually fight back? Perhaps there's something we don't know. I hope Pinkhaired is all right. I can't imagine the forums without pinkhaired. [ September 11, 2001: Message edited by: Osiris The Fleech ] |
I have an ex-girlfriend that lives in NY. I don't think she was in that city though.
Man, a lot of people you guys know live in the plane crashing areas...or were in one of the planes... And man I hate war! I hope a war doesn't break out either, I'd never wanna live during a World War 3! You know, I've seen reanactments and movies about World Wars 1 & 2 and SO many people died. But, I think, with all the nuclear missiles and junk...the public won't be harmed if one is launched at us. Plus, we be a lot more advanced then we were however many years ago World War 1 & 2 was... So, I'm not saying I wouldn't care if there was a war...cause I WOULD! I really really would... |
:( :( :( :(
This is not good... Pinkhaired, where are you?! :( :( :( :( |
Did anyone think of sending her an e-mail? Because I've just done that. . . I hope I get a responce. . .
- DH |
You know it didn't hit me as bad as it did untill I saw a person free falling waving his arms in the air. And it said on the news that One Couple jumped out of the window Together, Holding hands all the way down.
Now that's what I found the most Upsetting. Not seeing the plane going into the World Trade Center, Not seeing the Building Fall. But the people jumping out of the window just because they thought it was better than burning alive. |
I heard about the terrorist attack on TV, its on every channel. All those people died, its so sad.
I have a friend who lives in NY not to far away from the World Trade Center, I hope he's ok. My cousin was planning on going to NY, now she's cancelled the trip. The world's gone nuts, this definately is the sorta thing that would lead to war, that's really scary. |
Yes, I'm still scared about this. I don't believe that WWIII will break out, though. A few bridges leading to my town had some of those bomb threats and were closed down *Shudders* It's all too close...
|
Shoot...I'm sorry Dragadon. I've been listening to this unfold on the radio today, and it seems so distant and surreal because it isn't directly affecting right now.
I think Bush himself terrifies me more than anybody, though. Did anybody listen to his national address? The first reaction is to retaliate against the terrorists; screw the fact that initiating war of any kind is going to endanger more lives - he has to fight back and regain America's confidence. This has been a horrible tragedy, but it's going to get worse if the most powerful military force in the world starts initiating revenge. |
I'm speechless. There's so much commotion here in Belgium, so far away from USA, I can't think off the chaos there must be over there.
I agree with EVERETHING I've read in this topic. This is not over yet. |
I switched the television on literally five minutes after the first plane crashed yesterday and just sat shocked for the next four or so hours watching it. I don't think it had sunk in with some of my friends, though, until I pointed out we could be watching the start of WW3 on live television.
It's horrible, horrible. |
Let me just say that the WTC is still smoldering from the view on my rooftop. I live in Brooklyn, and I have a good view of the Manhattan skyline. The smoke still stretches across the sky. I was going to school at the time. I looked out of the city bus and saw all this smoke away in the distance. That wasnt a good sign. Everything is calmed down now, but nothing is normal. This is one of the worst catastrophes in the history of the world. It is unreal, this is a world event that will not let down for quite a while. A lot of the city is shut down, but it is excpected that many things will re-open tomorrow, but nothing in Downtown Manhattan. It is 11:56 AM Eastern Time as I type this, and it has been about 27 hours since the first plane hit and I am still in disbelief. Everyone is, from all walks of life, are in disbelief. It's just horrible.
|
And dont worry, Rochester is many miles north from NYC. But it doesnt matter, everyone has felt this tragedy.
|
This humans are horrible monsters!!! I haven't seen Pinky lately. I hope she's ok!
Our stock market is fallen about 8% and our gas is more expensive due to this terrorism! I see the horrible news everyday on every channel, the teacher in every classroom said to us we should think about the terrible news in NY.Then i cried a bit...it's unbelievable for me...it was always a dream to see the WTC, and so many humans died in a couple of hours. I'm so sad about it, and i really feel sorry for the families and friends of dead persons. |
Yeah, we are talking about it on school too! We even walked away from latin (Yes, I'm on gymanasium!) to watch the news on the t.v. in the hall. We heard Bin Laden said he did it. Well, he didn't say that, but he congratulated the terrorists that did it!
|
I was so sad about this disaster for the whole of today. I just broke down and cried hard in the middle of science. All my friends asked me what was wrong, and I felt like shouting "What the hell do you think is wrong?! Half a hundred thousand people have died and many are still trapped under rubble, we are on the brink of war and you selfish arrogant happy-go-lucky bastards are just prancing around having fun and saying 'Oo, how tragic, gosh. Well, it hasn't happened to me so I don't care, lala la la lala'." Obviously I didn't tell them that.
Instead of usual work, our English teacher let us read the newspapers and talk about what had happened and our views on it. I took a look at one of the papers, that showed pictures of some of the ash-covered victims, and of people grieving for lost relatives. And in another paper, there was a report from the Palestinians saying, and I quote more or less accurately, "We are happy to see the Americans suffer the bitterness and sorrow that our people go through." This isn't right, this isn't how humans are supposed to behave. I continued to read the paper, and there were eyewitness reports talking about people on fire leaping from the 80th floor of the Towers, and people leaving covered in blood. Who could have so much hatred, I thought, that they could have so little disregard for human life? Their actions will prove nothing, but will only make the rest of the world hate them. I put the paper down at this point and cried again. Nobody else did. How could they be so callous? As a Briton, from a country allied to America, I am with everyone all the way. If I could do anything to help, I would. Nobody wants a war. We shall stand together. |
this pic was sent to everyone at work. I fowarded it to my home addy and added the text. I feel this is both ironic and symbolic...

After breaking the incident down in school today first block and discussing it, I now have a message for all of us, particularly my fellow Americans. The goal of the terrorist attack was most likely to break our country down and sort of cause it to "implode", but instead, I think the opposite is happening: we are uniting. This can bring us together so that we all become more powerful than we were before. We shouldn't panic, that's what they want. If we unite, we can find who did this and bring themto justice. I encourage everyone to help any way they can. If a fellow forumer who is American can donate blood, please do so, or if you can do anything else to help, please do it. I know that I will.
|
After sleeping on it, I've kind of taken it in. On the whole, I think I broke down obout once over it when I heard that somebody was bombing something. I honestly thought WW3 was gonna break out, and we were all gonna die. . . However Drag shoed me an artical, which prooved that it wasn't the case. The rest of the day, until I went to bed, I felt really, really depressed about all the deaths.
- DH |
I agree with Black Dragon. We should all just stay strong, because panicing is what the terrorists want us to do. I reall doubt this will start another depression or WWIII, but if it does, we'll worry about it when it happens. This has been a horrible and tragic event, and many of us feel helpless. If you can't do much else, just learn from this so our generation never has so much hatred...
As for the Palestinian children, it sickens me how adults can teach children to hate other so much that they celebrate horrible, horrible events like this... :( :( :( :( ![]() |
Lil bastards that's all those terrorists are. I was watching it all morning yesterday. At the moment they're searching for victims under the thick rubble. In Tasmania, all of the channels have just got the reports on the attack. I hope they catch those bastards that done that. By the way, did anyone here see it happen when it happened and where it happened? Like, at that time? Not on tv? Cause if you did, you are a very different person than I am. I saw it like, 6 hours after it happened. I was freaked when I first saw it.
|
Well I wasn't really "there" but I did watch the second plane crash into the second building live on TV. I live in Florida and every one was worried because people where saying that the President was in Florida at that time. I still cannot belive what happened, I keep thinking of thoughs people you could see jumping from the building and imagining what it was like for them...
![]() |
Yeah. They would have been thinking, "I'm going to die"
