I wasn't trying to make him belive it, I was correcting his very, very, very incorrect statement about a subject I, evidently, understand better than him.
I may not understand it as well as you or Stattik do but I went to sunday-school for quite a while and I know the most evil passage in the Bible (that I know of), Lev 20:13.

Oh yeah, in my middle-school we had to sing hymns, I'll never forgive them for that. There were harly any songs in our book things which weren't themed around Christianity.
If we didn't sing we were told-off. If we used made-up words we were told-off. Stupid ****ing school, whoever had the idea of us singing Christian hymns for ****'s sake should be shot and allowed to bleed to death.

Zealots like you make Christianity extremely unnatractive to the unbeliever. You assume on faith alone that a book of the ancients is the ultimate truth, closing your mind to anything contrary to what the book says. Is that what Christianity is about? Shutting your mind off to the rest of the world? Blindly denying scientific discoveries in favour of an ancient book?

It just so happens that you're a Christian; you believe your faith is the ultimate truth. News flash: So do Hindus! There's nothing distinguishing Christianity from the hundreds of other religions mankind gave birth to.

My main concern with some followers is that they use their faith to condemn groups of people. Religion appears to be dying a slow and painful death in this world, eventually we will realise that this life is our only heaven, we wont extend our yearning for self-preservation to fanciful ideas of an afterlife, for which we compete for violently. Compassion is the one, true religion that will give humans what we desire.

By the way, a scripture teacher once told me that if there was no afterlife, there would be no difference between the lives lead by Hitler and Mother Theresa. Why can't one be good for goodness sake, not just for hopes of a special place in heaven?

Rettik, sorry for getting like that in my previous post. i will answer, though:It is not a sin to eat an oyster. You are probaly getting that odd idea from leviticus.This order from god is his old covenant. This is the one Jews believe. This is now irrelevant. We all can speak to God directly and do not have to fear god because jesus came and died for all sin. The new covenant is basically this, "Believe that Jesus is the Savior and live accordingly to god as best as you can. Believing that Jesus came to die for your sins+repenetance+=Heaven. Capisce? Also read an epistle 1Cor will kinda put this into perspective. It isn';t that long so read it, no matter how repulsive you think the bible is.

But the chapter that says that Homosexuality is a sin is also in the Old Testament, so isn't that also to be judged out of date now?

Also, I Think Last night, God meant for me to watch Benny Hinn Last night. There! He gave me proof that God existed and what happend to the dinosaurs yo. I was shocked what had happened to them and how they were created. He showed me the scriptures about it in the bible and explained it to me. :D

for some reason that reminds me of a line from the hitchhikers guide. they could have been angels but angels were generally depicted as wearing more than that.

also I find it hard to believe that if there was a god we could ever figure out what he was doing or did.

Thank you Pinky, I'll read-up on that next time I have some spare time in RE. I wish that Giddian's Bible school gave me (in a normal assembly they handed-out Bibles, I took it for reference) had an old testement in it, most of the things in the Bible that interest me are in the Old Testement.

Is it NIV or KJV? I read the NIV because it's speaking regular english and easy to understand. KJV speaks old elizabethan.

I don't know, the point is that it doesn't have an Old Testement.
