I have just been looking at a demo of Malice, a reliable source has gotten to me. You know something.... the XBOX is for real, it's a sheer next gen beast.
The game has some beautiful and subtle touches like bump mapping, alpha blending, volumetric fog, and soft, real-time shadows. “Everything in Malice is real time, and everything in the scene is shadowed onto everything else, including every single tooth of every single cog of the clockwork hammer. Also, Alice's hair is physically simulated using inverse kinematics to flop around as she moves and jumps, and even those strands of hair are shadowed onto her face”. This only adds to the real-life effect that Argonaut is trying to achieve with Malice. I mean seeing a tiny mouse with low-down lights that cast scary shadows onto the wall around the corner and play tricks with the player's emotions definitely adds that real-life effect to the game. The graphics department of the game already shows us that the Xbox has power that current next-generation systems do not possess, it’s a good thing that Argonaut decided to develop Malice on Xbox instead of PS2 or Dreamcast – the units would have probably fried trying to handle a game of such graphical caliber. Keep this title on you're mind, it's something speacial. Don't get me wrong I like PSX2, it's just not able to handle this type of game and it's power. You know I'm going to have to make a top list of up-coming games for all the systems. Once you see them all together you will be astonished at how many games of greatness are coming.Quite honestly I can predict we will be playing about 60 of the 70 best games ever created. They have finally gotten to the level I had always dreamed of. You're going to have to pick from these, that's going to be tough. See ya later. |
:
By the time PS2 goes the way of the Saturn, its game designers would have surpassed the graphical quality of the XBox's release library. |
Hi LuxoJr. You seem to like to contradict me from time to time don't ya. But that's cool, always question, stand up, for what you believe in. Don't forget you're swimming with a shark now,and a shark like's a good clean dispute. And they have been known to bite from time to time when provoked.
But of course you're right about PSX2 3rd and fourth gen games matching XBOX launch titles. They will learn and advance. There will always be 2 or 3 gems coming on PSX2, that's for sure. But..... here's the problem with that. By the time 3rd and fourth gen games on PSX2 are out, I will be playing 2nd and 3rd gen games on the mighty XBOX. Can you dig it.I said "CAN YOU DIG IT"! Just imagine the incredible advances on the BOX by then, you know the Box will not just sit back and wait for PSX2 to catch up.And don't ever count out Gamecube. Even if you just get 5 gamecube games a year, it's 25 in 5 years time. Sweet extra choices, more quality in you're gaming. Plus an extra DVD, not bad in my book. Gamecube will only be $200 in the States, and a little more in sweet Europe. I mean I spent almost $200 dollars on a simple dinner date last night. You can take a date out to 10 movies for that, you know about 20 hours of fun.Compare that to 5 years of gaming with the Gamecube. I can tell you're a smart guy Luxo, so I hope you get an XBOX,and Gamecube OK, it'll be more fun for you. |
I can dig it. To the man. ***hurls police badge into wall***
Personally, I can't wait to see how the console war pans out, but at this stage it looks as though the Xbox will spread like the fungus we all know and love as Microsoft Windows. Gamecubes? I'm not sure if I would buy one - mainly because of the games lineup and Nintendo's 3D history. I never liked Zelda or Mario, or even Goldeneye - the 'mature' N64 game. That doesn't mean I think GC will flop...Nintendo fans are usually pretty devout - I just believe that marketing and product support will drive Microsoft's console much further than its competition...and not necessarily because it's a better machine in the long run. |
Gamecubes? I'm not sure if I would buy one - mainly because of the games lineup and Nintendo's 3D history. I never liked Zelda or Mario, or even Goldeneye - the 'mature' N64 game. Well that's you're opinion LuxoJr. You have you're right to it.
Don't forget, those were older games that you're mind has an image of, and on a far inferior system the N64. Mario was groundbreaking for it's time, there is no doubt. But it's coming on a power system now, lookout. This is five years later, major time for vast improvements. Nintendo will never have the amount of games as XBOX and PSX2, but as for quality they will have more of it than PSX2, and be neck and neck with XBOX. And as for mature games, I'm glad you questioned that. Nintendo is growing up.They are making a concerted effort towards the more mature gamer as well. Proof in point: Metroid, Eternal darkness,Too human,Galleon,Saffire, Resident evil 0,Perfect dark, and two other very promising games with mature themes, soon to be seen at E3. That's 9 and that's just the first generation of them. I mean how many can you play in a year anyway's. Quality is more important than quantity anytime. And these games are sweet, no way around it. And then you still get Mario, Mario carts next gen,Zelda, waverace, snowboarding 1080, Luigi, which will be killer, you shall see, and of course Rare will be back with many killer titles. Anyway's its best if possible to play the cream of the crop on all the systems. I just can't wait for E3 to showcase the as of now quite news of Gamecube.People will notice real soon. Maybe even you LuxoJr.Who knows maybe you will be first in line for the Gamecube LuxorJR, that would be something huh. |
You're right - Nintendo does seem to be making an effort to get the older market it lost with N64, but they're still making some really idiotic decisions with the new console.
Like proprietary media - again...Didn't they learn the huge downsides that cartridges had over CDs with the 64? That 1.4gb will fill really quickly once texture map files increase and FMV is viewed in DVD quality with added sound quality. I'll believe that the Gamecube is more than a kiddie console when it physically appears and shows some proper games...but it does seem technological potential. |
I seem to have the same view as LuxoJr on the Gamecube... it really doesn't appeal to me at all. Maybe because I have the mindset of "kiddie console" also with games like Mario and *cringes* Pokemon. I grew up on Nintendo systems... the original NES and then the Super NES. I then moved onto PC based games and then came back to consoles only about a year ago when our family got a PSX.
Although Steel Shark, you do mention some good names there in the list of mature games. I think I read Resident Evil 0 will be on another console (could be wrong about this). I think that Nintendo have cornered their market and seem to do very well in this area. However it is interesting to note that the N64 came out some time after the PSX, and while the price of a PSX is still around $180 (here in Australia), the N64 has dropped way down to about $120 in the period of about 8 months. Even if there are going to be some more mature titles, I would very much doubt getting a Gamecube... simply because I am definately getting an Xbox and possibly getting a PS2 (depending on what happens with Final Fantasy X and beyond). After all I only have so much time to play games... and usually that's not as often as I would like (unfortunately). Abe Babe... |
Abebabe I have this funny feeling that once you see the Gamecube in action or just some of the movies and screenshots coming up you shall be converted, yes Abebabe you shall see you sweet girl you.
I'm going to get a Sharks most wanted list up, it's some list, games have never even come close to what the're going to be. Graphics, sound we all know about, however the artificial intelligence will take the biggest leap forward. See ya a little later. |
Here you go,the Shark's up-coming wishlist of next gen games. Now keep in mind I have seen all these games in action and or play-tested,I have seen test run video's of various portions of games not shown to the public. I know of the individual game engines behind these games,a very important fact often overlooked, so I know of the possible potential beyond what is already being shown. As well as the developers individual talents, more crucial than anything in the games outcome.
Now remember these are STEEL SHARK'S most wanted,I know there will be some all of you care for at the moment that will not appear on my list, however you never know they may pop up on it soon once I get a closer look at them. But I must tell you I have a very good idea already of what's coming. Another note,I dig ACTION/ADV,I love to explore and fight, along with a strong element of stealth in my games, and to solve puzzles while I'm at it, I dig the depth of these games. One more note,I can say with out a doubt about 30 of these titles will be as good or better than any game we have "EVER" played. These games are by far superior in all aspects. Graphics, sound capabilities, level design, and most importantly and over-looked the artificial intelligence. And remember I have not picked this list blindly, these games have had good looks by you're game buddy the Shark. TOP OF THE LIST (not in order) 1. MO, (What else) XBOX 2. Heavens Beast XBOX 3. Saffire Gamecube 4. Herdy Gerdy PSX2 5. Secret project 1 Gamecube E3 unveiling 6. Too Human Gamecube 7. Terminal Reality XBOX (secret game) 8. Picassio XBOX 9. Metal Gear 2 PSX2 10.Mario (NEXT GEN) Gamecube 11.Matrix XBOX 12.Halo XBOX 13.Secret project 2 Gamecube E3 unveiling 14.Luigi Gamecube 15.Malice XBOX 16.Max Payne P.C. 17.Gun Valkyrie XBOX 18.Eternal darkness Gamecube 19.Icco PSX2 20.Shrek XBOX 21.Galleon Gamecube 22.New legends XBOX 23.Tombraider (nextgen)P.C. 24.Metroid Gamecube 25.Zelda next gen Gamecube 26.FFX PSX2 27.1906 artic XBOX 28.Azurik XBOX 29.Dino Planet Gamecube 30.Run like Hell PSX2 Honorable mention Now many of these games could pop up on the "A" list above, we shall see. Enclave XBOX Europa P.C. Titanium angels P.C. Battle of the planets XBOX Panzer Dragoon X XBOX Devil may cry PSX2 Duke nukem P.C. Hunter XBOX Shade XBOX Blade 2 XBOX Call of the dragonfly XBOX Nightcaster XBOX Dungeon siege XBOX Knights XBOX Obi wan XBOX Rayman M XBOX The thing XBOX Jurrasic Park X XBOX Catburglar PSX2 Draken 2 PSX2 Project Eden P.C. Evil Twin P.C. Alone in the dark 4 P.C. Resident Evil 0 Gamecube Rare's many up-comers Gamecube Metal GearX ( Could be near top of list if done correct, and made exclusive for XBOX version, we shall know at E3.) Some extra games to think of other than 3D act/ADV are: Mario cart Gamecube 1080 snowboarding Gamecube Waverace Gamecube Project Gotham XBOX GT3 PSX2 Jetpackers XBOX Well there you have it, my list, you can say that 30 of the games will be top 35 games of all time, they are that good. The true next gen of games are finally upon us. I will get up and personal with these games at E3, I have behind closed door looks with many of them. More details later. I noticed that XBOX led the way with 12 top picks on my top 30 list. With Gamecube getting 11.PSX2 got 5, and P.C. only 2. PC gaming in my book is getting hurt by the new power of consoles, but will never die, they just get more powerful as time goes, they will be back with some punch. OK now for a swim and workout with the weights, this is actually more exhausting than weightlifting. |
*Blushes from the nice things Steel Shark says* :o
That's a very impressive list of games there... some I have read about/heard of, but also some titles that I have not. Seeing that your tastes in gaming are very similar to mine (I'll include RPG in the types of games I like to play too)... I would probably trust your judgement on a lot of these titles. By far Munch's Oddysee is the most anticipated game for me, followed by Final Fantasy X. Then I would say (even though I have never seen it before) the Heaven's Beast game... you've got me hooked in on that one already. Other games from the list that I would like to really like to play include Matrix, Halo, Malice and Resident Evil 0 (yes, I've included one Gamecube title there). Of course there are others, but they are the main ones... and of course I can't include the ones that I don't know what they are yet. Abe Babe... |
Five days to E3, thank the Gods above. Here is some good news for you outside of America gamers.
Now you can buy American XBOX and Gamecube systems, and believe me after you see what's coming you will want to. The reason is this: ELECTRONICS BOUTIQUE SELECTS ENRON AND INTO NETWORKS TO DELIVER GAMES ON DEMAND. The Electronics Boutique games on demand service will be the first application to launch as part of a strategic alliance between Enron and Into. After a thorough evaluation of providers, Enron has selected Into as its preferred vendor for software on demand technology. The aim of the alliance is to optimize and increase delivery of streaming applications over broadband connections using software on demand technology. Beginning June 1, Electronics Boutique will offer customers leading game titles via its website powered by Into's streaming software on demand technology. This technology allows users to access software without requiring downloading or installation. To ensure security, the content will be encrypted and encoded using Into's proprietary technology. Through its alliance with Enron, Into will provide technology integration services and an e-commerce solution. Electronics Boutique will be responsible for marketing and customer service. Into's streaming technology platform provides publishers and retailers another distribution channel for generating revenue and gives customers a new option for renting games. Electronics Boutique will acquire the streaming rights from leading publishers to aggregate popular and newly-released game titles. More info at E3, but the deal will enable people to rent over the net, so you can play all the American games early instead of waiting for them in you're neck of the woods.American systems will cost you less in the long run than in Europe or Australia etc... No confirmation as of yet on XBOX or Gamecube rentals as of yet, however the systems are still 6 months away. A well trusted person I have faith in confirms to me that XBOX and Gamecube games will be available as well when they finally get here. Until then the program will be PC only. We will have to see how this will work with XBOX and Gamecube online game networks, via the internet, but at least there is another option for outside America gamers.More news of this to come, I'll keep you posted... |
A little news a spy of the Shark's has garnered... Now it's not confirmed, but I would say you can count on it, usually my informats are hip to there news reports.
Squaresoft to announce Nintendo GameCube Support at E3 GameCube to garner support of the biggest RPG developer in the world at E3. Am I under this impression? I am not sure. I have talked to 3 or 4 different people about it, and nothing is definitive. I am inclined to believe that there will have to be some sort of announcement regarding Square...just because every media agent will ask it of both Nintendo and Squaresoft. Good or bad? No clue. A large announcement? You know...it is very possible that Squaresoft and Nintendo have pulled the wool WAY over our eyes....and if any company can do it, it is Nintendo. Nintendo did say on its website with regards to E3, "Be there and be square..." Stay tuned for this one. Capcom to bewilder GameCube fans with secret project. Supposedly this secret project that Capcom had been working on in one of its internal studios may be headed for the Nintendo GameCube. What do I think? I think Capcom and Nintendo are getting along beautifully...and this internally developed title would be perfect for the Nintendo GameCube... Stay tuned. FFX on the CUBE, don't bet against it. |
Just been checking a top secret video/non playable,of a rather large up-coming game from Nintendo for Gamecube.
It's nice to have connections, the little game is Mario/Luigi, that's right, bottom line: WOW,when people see this at E3 it will be the talk of the show. Evidently, Gamecube Mario/Luigi game may be a two-disc game-and not because of space limitations. There will be one disc for each character! "create-your-own adventure/choose-your-own-adventure elements" as well as "undetermined communication features." The two discs would supposedly interact with one another and feature actions that would have real-time consequences. Footage opens with a dark and stormy night as the camera zooms in on a gigantic mansion on a hill, bombarded by lightning and thunder. The scene then changes to the mansion's interior as the front door swings open, revealing a familiar silhouette. Lighting crashes and we see the shadowy figure turn to reveal the concerned face of… Luigi! Terrified, Luigi slides down a stairway banister as spooky ghosts pursue him. Luigi moves just in time too, as an enormous chandelier hits the ground right where he was standing! The effect of the glass shattering into small pieces is spellbinding, as is the shot of Luigi's tonsils swinging like church bells as the camera zooms into his screaming mouth. It's a ramped up and more detailed video than what was released months ago, more footage as well. The entire demo looks fantastic, complete with facial expressions, use of lighting and incredibly detailed animation throughout. What's more astounding is that all of the action of the demo goes by very quickly, demonstrating some pretty awesome power on the part of the Gamecube! One can only fantasize what this would be like to play-for now. The two games can allegedly interact with each other or remain separate while each character has different tasks that they can choose. The outcome of the tasks affects things in the game in real time, so that every time you play every decision has a different outcome. In other words you can play with a partner on two tv's go in seperate locations and then when you choose you can join at a predetermined local. Or you can split-screen it. Also one player can play at anytime and have the other player join in at anytime.Or you can play as a team from beginning to end, your choice. We shall see the facts at E3, however you can expect something along these lines.Forget about that five year old image of Mario, it's the next century now, and it shows. I've never seen soo much excitement in games with E3 coming in a few days, they are so advanced now compared to what we have seen to date. |
Hello, hello, out there.
No reaction to my latest news items, not one comment. Not one reply to EB world renting games over the net worldwide real soon, Square working with Nintendo,or Mario info news that is big news,I mean underground behind the scenes kind of news, and not one comment.Have I been blackballed? Hello.... I mean look at some of the other topics, lots of reaction to whatever that's about. I think I'm doing something nice here and well frankly it looks like no one really gives a hoot. I have given a few bits of news at a Gamecube forum and at a XBOX forum and the reaction goes out the roof.Am I wasting my time here? Don't bother to answer, I already pretty much know the answer, proofs in the pudding. I am very busy, and now with E3 really busy. The Steel Shark may have to swim in other waters,I mean this is kinda becoming a real waste of time for me, and obviously my posts are even a bigger waste of time for you.I like this place and MO, but I don't like talking to myself. Hello, hello...... |
Well I'm here again, anyone out there....
There is a MO interview with Lorne Lanning over at xboxaddict.com if anyone can here me go check it out. There is also mention of a sea rex, got you're attention now dont I Elum. However Lorne is very vague about it. |
I've just noticed that the xboxaddict interview is old news, sorry.I better mention this before I get a smartass comment like "yes we already know, that's old cheese", you know you'll get a comment like that, none other, that's for sure. So long.
|
Whatever happened to just doing things without expecting thanks?
|
There it is the one comment and it's from "only something negative or opposite of my thoughts Luxo". Anytime you here from him it's negative.
Who ever said I'm asking for thanks.Where did you get that from? I want a response, a conversation on topics that interest me, some kind of common interest. The last thing I want is thanks.I get that from my girlfriends when I'm in bed dude. I love MO, but there's more coming than just Mo.There is no interest here at least for the most part on other games, that's too bad. All I've come up with Luxo, and all you come up with is that post above, what a joke. You don't think I know where you're coming from, I have known you're true feelings from the beginning. Why don't you do like you're little buddy Crash13 and dissapear. Once his beloved Crash jumped ship he vanished, too embarrased to face the music I quess.Luxo you always stuck with him like glue so do so now, vanish from my topic as of now. You're just too negative at all times, face it.Anything I have ever said you have come down on it with total negativity. It's too bad I can't throw you out of my posts phisically,so I ask you to keep away from me,my life is all positive,I don't need you're negative bitterness. And wake-up,get all the systems, stop fooling yourself just because you got to spend a little more cash. |

I wasn't damning your information in any way, and I never have. I'm free to offer my opinion about consoles like anybody else on these forums - but I do object to somebody acting like their opinions are graciously bestowed upon an ignorant gaming community. Well I don't know about others Steel Shark, but I read this topic every time it gets an update. I guess a lot of people don't really bother with it because all they want to hear about is Oddworld (with the exception of a few). Although I'm not extremely into games, I still find this kind of news interesting, so please keep it up.

Well I'm getting ready for E3, I'm all fired up,and pumped. And I got a game ,well a beta version of an XBOX up-coming game to check out.A real sweet one ,do you remember Panzer Dragoon for Sega?
I'm going to check it out for an hour or two now.I have looked at a couple minutes thus far and it's a super advanced version of what you would recall the Sega version was.Open, not on rails, freedom in movement, like the original was. It has an elegant feel to it,mysterious, deep, with action already in it's first moments.I'll put it to you this way,if it was out, the're would be no game better than it as of now.Games are taking such a leap this year. The great thing is there will be 60+ games like it this coming year. It's going to be a late night, but worth it.Off to Panzer Dragoon heaven, see ya later. |
New news, you here it here first.Blue storm is the codename for one of Nintendo's gamecube secret projects. They say it will be all grownup and on the darker side, a real feast for the eyes and with great gameplay, more when I'm at E3.
Also it now looks like Luigi may be a game on it's own, with Mario a whole other game, even better ,now you get two miyamoto games. My source tells me that Luigi will use a vacuum and flashlight to capture ghosts, ghostbuster style. The demo of Luigi's mansion will be one of the levels. Also Luigi will appear in Mario as well in some form. And as a reminder don't forget these names for Gamecube: Galleon and Saffire, along with Picassio all more adult style games and true sleepers. |

![]() Jokes aside, I appreciate your enthusiasm and wanting to deliver information to us. I can't wait until you give us your impressions of Munch's Oddysee when you see it. |
Hi Steel Shark... I've only been on the forums briefly of late... so have usually just responded to the shorter topics! Now I have a bit of time up my sleeve... I'll put in the stuff I wanted to say.
Firstly of course about Squaresoft and Nintendo... if I'm not wrong, didn't Square give Nintendo the shaft (or was it vice versa, I can't remember) a few months ago. If so, why the change in decision. I personally would have preferred Square to make a deal with Xbox as I have said on numerous occasions before. As for the slogan on Nintendo's website, "Be there and be square"... I would have just interpreted that as meaning square = cube = Gamecube... especially since the main games that they will be unveilling will be Mario/Luigi as you mentioned... but then again you never know. I am also very interested in the Games on Demand that you mention. This would be an ideal alternative to hiring games for someone like myself, and would also be a great opportunity to play games before they are released here. I usually like to own originals of games... but of course this would be a great way to try them out. My only concern is that cable providers over here (I am on cable modem in Australia) will actually provide the capabilities for Xbox and PS2. Nothing has been said at all so far about this over here. Maybe because it is too early. I really need to get an email off to my cable provider and see what they have to say about it all. Good news to see a game targeted at older audiences on the Game Cube also... may convert me yet! ;) Although talk of Mario and Luigi certainly brings back some memories... I used to love the Mario games and played them all the time on my old NES and SNES. Keep the news coming Steel Shark... I have no idea why people don't respond that much... I would have at least thought people would have responded when you posted about the upcoming games top list... but I was the only one who did. ![]() Abe Babe... |
Well it's almost time. For a game lover such as myself this is like going to heaven. E3 is here. By far the best show and games ever are breathing down our backs,I can feel the heat.
Games that are going to entertain us for soo many hours a few months from now will be showing off there muscle. These are the games we will be playing for the next year and a half. And I can safely say that 60+ of them are real gems. For me personally I have only played Giants,Black and white,Sacrifice,GT3, and Blade of darkness in the past 6 months. I only play the best, I never waste a second with so-so games. The funny thing is I can name 60 games that will be overall better than the games I just mentioned, incredible but true. With the great amount of high quality games coming the problem will be to pick the best of the best, there is just so many games you can actually get to.But it's a good problem for sure. Here's some more news on Azurik in case you missed it. Azurik is a Lore Guardian who is the only hope of saving Perathia(sound familiar? I thought so...), his world, from an ancient prophecy that has already destroyed the holy elements - earth, air, water, and fire - that were under Azurik's guard. The so-called "holy" pieces of the elements have been scattered to all corners of the world and it is your job as Azurik to find and recover those missing pieces before Perathia becomes a blur of maddening chaos. How do you do this? Well no problem, you have double-headed Axion as your weapon that draws upon the power of the four elements. Be careful though as certain elements cannot be used on certain enemies (i.e. you cannot use the fire element to beat fire-based enemies, simple enough?). Bottomline: you have three objectives, 1) Restore elements, 2) Restore the honor of the Lore Guardians, and 3) Restore Perathia. The game kind of plays like Tomb Raider, but you have two camera control options. One is used to zoom around Azurik, and one to zoom in and out. Onto the subject of control, as we all know the Xbox has 4 main frontal control buttons. In Azurik: these 4 buttons do the following: one allows for jumping, another allows a single attack, another button – swirling attack, and the last main button enables for a quick jump and slash attack. As was revealed before, Azurik must protect the elemental powers from the evil prophecy . He does by getting those elemental powers as he progresses through the game. The elemental powers are: air, earth, water, and fire. Each one can be used to power up Azurik’s staff. The cool part of the game is that you can combine the elements together. An example of this is combining earth and water to make acid, fire and water to make steam, and so on. Switching between these elements is no problem, according to 'our source', all you have to do is hold down the top left button of the Xbox controller and hit any of the 4 frontal buttons to enable the elements. The Al in Azurik is truly amazing. It seemed like all the creatures had different AI that is tuned for each type of creature. Some creatures are smart and avoid you if they are small and some are smart - meaning even though they are small, they will assemble a pack and hunt you down like the dog you are. The coolest thing about the creatures, in my opinion, is that some of them can combine into one being allowing for an ultimate bad arsed beast. If it's one thing you've noticed about the game, it's probably the vast worlds and polygons that make up those worlds. Azurik: RoP is definitely appealing to the eye, and why not? The game boasts up to 300,000 individually textured polygons on screen per frame, which equate into hugely detailed worlds. This also amounts to more detail being put into the game thanks to the Xbox compression system, so the artists don't lose all that much detail in the end. A game can't be complete without pleasing the good ol' ear drums and Azurik seems to know that as they are wasting no time in taking advantage of Xbox's sound capabilities. The 'Box allows them to put 64 3D positional sounds in the world, equating into rich sonic environments. Not only will the sound effects be pleasing but the CD soundtrack as well. This music is triggered as the player enters a sonic environment and brings a new depth of emotional response to Azurik.More news from E3 on this promising XBOX game. Thornado has been in development for what seems like an eternity. Originally planned as a next-generation sequel to Factor 5's excellent shooter/platformer Turrican series, Thornado has done much evolving behind the scenes. Although the game remains true to its Turrican roots, the name Thornado was chosen due to Factor 5 wanting to avoid potential legal troubles. Despite its best attempts, Factor 5 was unable make an agreement with Rainbow Arts / SoftGold, the European publisher who own the rights to the familiar "Turrican" name. Regardless, the building hype for this title should more than make up its lack of name recognition. Plus, "Thornado" is a pretty cool name too. "It's like Turrican in 3D, or perhaps how we would imagine Metroid in 3D. You have to explore a lot, not just run and shoot, you can call these cool drop ships that bring power-ups, and there will be plenty of strategy. It's important to us to find a balance between the three elements: seek, find, and shoot." Of course, now that Retro studios is hard at work on a Metroid title, this cause has become a bit moot. Still, Factor 5's effort is noble & appreciated and Thornado will be all the more awesome because of it. Factor 5 were pushing the limit on N64; imagine how it will look on Game Cube. Two characters are selectable, a man and a woman. The male character's name is "Thor." Thor wearing a trench coat, that looked incredibly realistic as it flowed in the wind. Additionally, details were crisp down to each individually animated finger of Thor's hand. There will be several weapons, many of them elemental in nature. Thornado lives up to its name as characters feature a variety of wind and tornado based attacks. The arsenal will come in handy, as the shoot 'em action is said to be intense and reminiscent of the blazin' glory of Contra. Not only that, there is also a grappling beam, similar to another great classic, Bionic Commando. Level settings range from Earth cities to outer space. This is yet another adult oriented game for gamecube,it is one I recall now that had ben in production but totally slipped my mind.It really looks amazing.By the way the guys behind this game are the guys doing the rogue squadron 2 game, which is getting alot of positive hype right now. I'll tell you that both games would be top 5 games of all time for me if out today, and these are beta's versions. And just to show how great games coming are I wonder if they will ever be played by me.I mean I might get to around 20-25 full games in a year, these games as good as they are may not make my top 25 list, incredible. My advice is get the Gamecube and XBOX if possible, pick only the best of the best for five years, gamecube is only going to be 150-200 dollars in the USA. Abe Babe, I am going to convert you yet, even if I can't get everyone else on my page. Adult games are coming to Gamecube here they are: Metroid Eternal darkness Too human Resident evil 0 Saffire Galleon Thornado Rare secret game I'll scoop you later on it. Perfect dark 2 Picassio And that's just this year, and don't ever forget all the other Nintendo standby's.Well See ya later..... |
The STEEL SHARK has landed.
It is just after 2:30 AM here in LALA land. I arrived at my hotel about 4 hours ago.I am staying at the L.A.Bonaventure Hotel, you know that circle looking hotel. It's real plush, right in the smack dab center of L.A. Just down the block from the Convention center of L.A. I rented a "sweet ass suite" five months ago,I have it for five nights, the Shark never pulls his punches, did'nt you know that by now.For the past month you could not even get a cardboard box around these parts,it's alive and happenin. I hopped in the Viper from my Newport beach home with my two "sharkettes",it was nice seeing them all crowded up in my passenger seat all bumps and curves in the right places. And with a large smile on my face, off to E3 my personal heaven we went. My Sharkettes are around to make me look good, hey they do look soo nice perched on each of my arms. Well another reason for my hand-picked team is this, they can get news from horny "in the know dudes " like no one's business.I've primed them for just the right situations, and they have this uncanny way of getting invited to all the right "private parties". And when asked who the big surfer looking dude is they smile and say "oh he's our brother and bodyguard".And the funny thing is, all these dudes never score with the Sharkettes, they only swim the Steel's waters.I come to the party with them and I end up in the suite with them, cool. Man I'm in a good mood E3 is here.Time to make some money and to see the great games I'll be playing this year and next. This year my doh will go to only three companies,no more.I am working on my own Next-gen gig,so I've toned it down some. I have 36 behind closed door meetings.I'll give details on them in the next day's if you're interested. I'll give MO in depth impressions as well, don't worry. The games are going to be a radical up-grade from what we have had to put up with to date. Here's a first little tidbit: Rare's Dinosaur planet will now be Star fox on Dinosaur planet,a Zelda feel to it, loolks quite promising on the CUBE. Another is Donkey Kong racing,a amped up version of Mario carts or diddy Kong racing. The news will flow. I will be at the opening events and all else tomorrow,I will try to get you some scoops and let you in on some under the tables gossip not for everybodies hears. Now for a little exercise with the Sharkettes and then another kind of heaven with E3 tomorrow. Speak with you then. By the way does anyone have any suggestions or something they want checked out, just ask, OK, see ya later. |

1. Mindless sex 2. The biggest gaming convention of the year 3. The nightlife surrounding a luxury hotel in order to go online and write up about how much fun you're having. Right. [ May 16, 2001: Message edited by: LuxoJr ] |
Oh to be jealous must be a bad thing Luxo, I have already pointed you out, just more proof of you're true colors.
First off,I ignored nothing, the E3 is today not last night. I am fully prepared for the show. I did all my homework school boy Luxo way earlier. I had already been to two meetings and the Convention center before going on-line.As for night life well my life is a nightlife, sorry Mr.jealous but true.I danced and had a great dinner with the Sharkettes before going on-line.You getting you're answers yet Mr "GO to school and then get out into the world before you go ripping with you're jeolous idiotic crap". This forum is becoming lame because of you're blatant attacks on me at every turn you "jeolous ass". I play and work Clown, what the hell do you know of my schedule, who are you to assume anything the way you have.I have 36 sweet ass meetings plus parties to attend in good time MR.jeolous,I mean what else can it be with you.Finish school, see a Doctor for the jeolous problem of your's and get used to seeing people better than you and with sweeter live's. I was just going to announce live to everyone that the show is starting, and wanted to give a live interview of what there saying, and then I read this crap.Does anyone see my point here. Well forget it,off to the show I go,maybe I'll be back later. I always knew it Luxo, and I mentioned it before, you just showed you're true colors.Too bad you cannot be here, but it's not for un-qualified peasants. |
I do this mostly for Abe babe because of her class and kindness.Otherwise who knows....

Hi Steel Shark... any news on FFX for any other consoles yet? There's still one more day of E3 to go, so maybe they are waiting to announced it then. I did see some really awesome new movies that were released earlier.
Also, have you got to play Munch's Oddysee yet? What did you think? What kinds of promotional stuff are there at the Oddworld booth. I should have got you to say hi to everyone there for me!!! ;) I don't know if you have posted any of this information yet, as I didn't have a chance to read your posts before we lost some things from the forums. ![]() It sounds like you are having a blast at E3... (trying not to sound jealous) ... I wish that I got to go to E3... well minus the Sharkettes (I don't think that would go down well w/ me!!! LOL). Maybe one day I will make it over at the right time of the year. Thanks once again Steel Shark!!! ![]() Abe Babe... [ May 19, 2001: Message edited by: Abe Babe ] |
