I would actually come, and I can probably afford it, but shit like this is hard to organise when you still live your parents.

Like, most of my family don't know OWF exists. You would not believe the lies I spun to stay up playing games with Phylum, or go to OddTour '12, or stay with Wil for a week... It's an awful thing to do, but there is no good way to put "I'm travelling halfway across the country, on my own, to stay with a gay man almost twice my age, who has jokingly propositioned me for sex on multiple occasions over the course of several years, whom I met on the internet talking about video games".
