How many times has OWI started work on a project and not seen it through to the end? Too many to count

Hand of Odd
Fangus

Yeah, I ran out of fingers.

:

and for some reason you think MO should be the exception?
The term "some reason" is usually reserved for when there doesn't seem to be a reason given, not when several important reasons have been given.

I can't believe this, man. I thought we were bros ;_;

I'm actually curious to know what devs' opinion on MO is. At what point during development did somebody realise that they wouldn't have the time or funds to complete the game they initially intended? Theoretically it would be fairly early on, it was quite an ambitious project. I just can't understand why they'd stick to it.

SligStorm never started production, Citizen Siege isn't Oddworld, Stranger's Wrath for Mobile is still in development, multiplayer in Stranger's Wrath was a part of Stranger's Wrath, not a whole project of its own.

I'm willing to let you argue that precisely one of these is allowed to count. :P

Boom, betrayal.

I know Lorne has called it a heartbreak. But it takes a comfortable position or a horrible disaster to outright drop something like that, and whatever your personal feelings about Munch's Oddysee, whatever the prevailing opinion in the community may feel like, it sold well, got good reviews, and I talk to fans all the time who loved it and can't wait to play it more. You work your hardest to make it the best despite the circumstances, and hey, maybe someone will remaster it in years to come.

Nepsotic 10-31-2014 07:15 PM

You mean remake?

Slog Bait 10-31-2014 07:18 PM

Not this shit again.

Loose as your mum's pussy.

HA.

Seriously though I guess she means saved it a la it still came out.

Nepsotic 11-01-2014 04:15 AM

I think you missed a page.

Varrok 11-01-2014 04:27 AM

I think you missed your... mum's pussy? Is that how you do it, guys?

Vlam 11-01-2014 06:25 AM

The release of MO had a perverse effect : the next games (except SW, which isn't part of the quintology) will be as goofy. Look at AO remake (which is a a mix between AO and MO's tone, it was why the fans weren't happy). So with MO release, we got a bad game and a cartoon trend.

And Nepsotic is right : Lanning always get away with everything (remember Citizen Siege ?). MO : "bouh-ouh it's the fault of the bad guys, EA and Microsoft".

STM 11-01-2014 07:37 AM

All I wanted to do was make a pussy joke. Thanks a lot, Lorne.

Holy Sock 11-01-2014 08:00 AM

Why the fans weren't happy? There has been some displeasure over tone but fan reaction on NnT seems to have been very positive in general.
