Hercules has the only Didney ost that I can actually listen to without wretching violently.

The Hercules OST has one good song though.

What on earth is your problem with Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin's OST?

STM 05-10-2014 02:48 PM

Never saw either film.

What else can I say except congratulations on your bad taste!

E: Oh, new page.

Also I know it's not Disney but I fucking loathe Finding Nemo.

What a coincidence, I just watched this so we can all get back on-topic and everything will be OK.

I always forget how much I like Finding Nemo until I sit down and watch it. It’s weird how little of it I retain.

STM 05-10-2014 04:53 PM

Sharkbait ooh haha

Hey it was better than Pocahontas and Hercules and basically everything following it until Princess and the Frog*

*Not seen Atlantis or Treasure Planet.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire features a brief shot of two coelacanths. Therefore it has the Bullet Magnet seal of approval.

Frozen uses the word "fractals" once, and may be the only Disney film ever to do so. Therefore it has the Bullet Magnet seal of approval.

STM 05-14-2014 11:45 PM

I saw Atlantis for my birthday when I was diddy, it got the babyAidy seal of approval too.

Manco 05-15-2014 01:35 AM

Frozen doesn’t need fractals to be good though.

Jordan 05-15-2014 05:00 AM

I'm constantly surprised by everyone's disliking of Hercules. I still think it's great. I can't tell if it's nostalgia or not though that keeps me rooting for it.

Tarzan on the other hand is beautiful, and I know nostalgia doesn't have much to do with that for me.

OANST 05-15-2014 06:15 AM

I never saw the movie, but I remember watching the show they made after it when I was in high school, and being surprised by how funny it is. The Aladdin crossover episode where the monkey, and Icarus are both lured into a trap with bananas was my favorite. I can't believe I still remember that.

Jordan 05-15-2014 07:46 AM

Yeah I forget how many TV shows Disney actually made based on its main titles. Money grabbing bastards.

Bullet Magnet 05-15-2014 10:14 PM

One episode of Aladdin saw Jasmine slowly transform into a naga. It stirred some very strange and confusing sensations.

Wings of Fire 05-19-2014 07:38 PM

I guess I'll post it here

I just saw Frozen. It was a very funny movie.

Wasn't a very good movie though. I can't relate to a main character who feels like a mouthpiece for the writer's witty comments. It was too clever for its own good with about 10% sincerity (And that's in the parts where Elsa actually had screentime).

Manco 05-20-2014 01:12 PM

maybe you should just let it go

I dunno about any characters being a mouthpiece, unless you’re referring to the parts of the movie that are obvious digs at the “classic” Disney princess formula?

I mean Anna wasn't a character. She was a constant string of (Legitimately well written) jokes and breezy subversions.

Job McYossie 05-20-2014 03:02 PM

That movie was definitely far from perfect. I love it because of my particular experience with it. I went into watching never seeing so much as an ad for it. So when I started out and it started with a music piece I was immediately thinking Oh great, this is going to be a terrible cheesy movie. I stayed on though, and when I saw the next song actually properly broke out, not like these other modern "musicals" which have way too much song buildup. The songs were great, and their introductions (or lack thereof) was amazing.

Havoc 05-20-2014 03:27 PM

Seriously, no one mentions The Lion King? When you're discussing Disney classics this one should be near the top. Along with Aladdin and things like Snow white and Beauty and the Beast.

Also I hear Frozen's story is almost a carbon copy of The Lion King/Hamlet. True or false?

Slog Bait 05-20-2014 03:49 PM

Snow White was so boring tho

And no. Frozen is based off The Snow Queen, which is nothing like Hamlet afaik

Job McYossie 05-20-2014 04:24 PM

Everyone keeps saying Frozen is like Lion King, and it's really not. People keep relating Elsa to Simba being isolated from his society. Elsa isn't even the protagonist. Not to mention she was only gone for... what, a few months maybe? She didn't completely grow up through years of life outside society.

Slog Bait 05-20-2014 04:29 PM

Really, the only similarities I can see are just the fact that royalty is involved, and I guess the troll things could be compared to Timon and Pumba? But that's kind of a stretch.

Comparing Simba and Elsa like that doesn't work because Elsa was cast out by literally everyone except Anna and Simba was only lead to believe he'd have been cast out due to Scar's manipulative assholery.

STM 05-20-2014 04:49 PM

Both their kingdoms ended up in the shitter while they were gone though.

Job McYossie 05-20-2014 04:54 PM

Simba's kingdom ended up crap because of bad royalty. And while there was corrupt fake royalty in Frozen, it wasn't what screwed up that kingdom.

Wings of Fire 05-20-2014 05:03 PM

Elsa should have been the protagonist. She was the only good character in it.

Job McYossie 05-20-2014 05:16 PM

Lies. The Swedish (?) store clerk was by far the best.

Okay

I'll give you that one

You win this time!

Jordan 05-22-2014 06:26 AM

I don't get the whole comparison to The Lion King. They're barely similar.

As much as I loved Frozen it would have been interesting to see Elsa being more of an antagonist like they originally planned, but would become good towards the end. Would be nice to see an alternate story or something.

Bullet Magnet 05-22-2014 10:11 PM

I see it more of a villain backstory.

Dynamithix 05-23-2014 12:17 AM

Was this posted here yet?

MeechMunchie 05-23-2014 06:26 AM

Heh. Looks fairly good.

Slog Bait 05-23-2014 10:22 AM

Psh, that looks nothing like the original comic psh

Not that I ever took interest in BH6 to begin with.
