Crash 3 and two were ultra interesting for me. I didn't play 4 though.

Skyrim players ought to have a look at Falskaar - Someone put 2000 hours into creating a fully voiced fan-made DLC for Skyrim and it landed him a job in the games industry (with Bungie - Perhaps he's working on Destiny now or something):
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37994/

I just finished it over the past few days - As an unofficial DLC it's quite fun and well made, even though some parts lack polish and stand out from the overall good quality of the mod, but that's about the only gripe I have with it - It's damned incredible for a fan thing. It introduces a whole new island to explore and several new (large) dungeons, with a decent self-contained storyline and a few side quests. It's worth giving it a go.

(yeah I did post this as a status update on Steam)

Hey DarkHoodness, maybe you already know this, but this guy have some good mods for Skyrim.

On-Topic:
I've been playing "The Stanley Parable", "FEZ" and "Super Street Fighter IV: AE 2012" on PC. "The Stanley Parable" is great, mainly because of its humour.

DarkHoodness 01-21-2014 11:52 AM

Yeah I do, I've been using a big collection of mods for a while now which enhance Skyrim a bit without going too over-the-top like many of the ENB mods do. Climates of Tamriel, realistic nights, Sounds of Skyrim, etc. Thanks anyway, though. :)

Nate 01-21-2014 03:22 PM

I've been replaying Tales of Monkey Island. It's fun enough, I guess. I don't think I'm enjoying it as much as I did the first time, possibly because I recently replayed Sam & Max Season 3: The Devil's Playhouse, which is the best Telltale Adventure game I've played (and among the best Adventure games, period).

Crashpunk 01-22-2014 02:27 PM

Dota 2 is still using up all my time. Aside from that I've been playing Skyrim. Mods are the coolest things.

Vyrien 01-22-2014 03:08 PM

I've also been playing Skyrim, having recently bought the Elder Scrolls Anthology. I agree, mods definitely are the coolest things.

Dynamithix 01-23-2014 08:51 PM

My video card came with a download code for Assassin's Creed 4 so I tried it out. I only played maybe an hour of it, but it seemed better than the third game.

Manco 02-01-2014 08:15 PM

I’ve been watching an LP of the first Assassin’s Creed and it kinda got me in the mood to go back and play it again warts and all.

There are some things it does really well despite its shortcomings, mostly its atmosphere and story tones. I think buying the PC version rather than just booting up my 360 was a mistake though – the port looks nicer, but the gamepad support is lackluster.

Phylum 02-02-2014 05:07 AM

I've been trying out Loadout for a laugh. Really fun shooter. It's super-accessible, and seems to have quite a bit of depth. It doesn't seem like it's pay to win at this point, although the avatar customization costs a pretty penny.

The guns are really weak, so that's taking a bit of getting used to. Everything takes a really long time to die, even with good accuracy. Moving around the map can be a bit clunky coming from Quake, but it mostly feels good. Can't find a good key to bind the dodge-roll to yet, but rolling by double tapping the movement keys was definitely a mistake.

Also I quit Quake. It sounds silly, but it's actually a really big deal to me. I might make a blog post outlining how important Quake has been to me over the years.

You can disable the double tap roll in options. I'd do that as quick as you can, because that's annoying.

I have to agree though, this game pleases me very very far beyond my expectations. I've been wanting to get into another fast paced shooter, but couldn't find anything that wasn't Quake or modded CStrike. Then this came around. I've not had the same degree of issue as you were talking about the damage, but I do feel the guns could be stronger. Overall though, I think I might play this game a lot now.

Phylum 02-02-2014 02:37 PM

I don't really like the "fast paced shooter like Quake" comparison. The game is definitely a lot more hectic and unpredictable than a classic arena shooter, which is different to the fast paced feel that Quake has.

But hey FPS snob here so whatever.

OddYouko 02-02-2014 07:17 PM

Currently playing Diablo 3 (co-op with dad, sis, and bro). We've just now reached Act 3, with the difficulty on Normal (Hard) of course. I think I'm the only one right now who's itching to play almost everyday, but dad and sis (bro is sometimes absent when we're playing) are kinda getting burned out on it already.

I'll play some GTA:V online now and again.

Phylum 02-03-2014 01:02 AM

Bought, played and finished Octodad: Dadliest Catch. All in all took around 2 hours. 2 of the most charming hours I've ever played. Laughed lots. Enjoyed it heaps. There's still lots to go back and find, so I'm not too bothered by the length. Workshop integration is promising, and I'm keen to start making some levels.

It was just a really great game overall. I think I'll get $11 worth out of it, but even if I don't my first playthrough was awesome.

Job McYossie 02-18-2014 04:35 PM

Right now I am enjoying the Titanfall beta. Yes, enjoying it. It's got a lot of design problems, of course, but over all I can honestly say I enjoy my time playing it. It doesn't really offer much in the way of anything new, but what it does, it does alright. Probably won't buy the released version, as it's asking price is $60 USD. Way too much for an arcade experience. I hope that Respawn/EA will think about changing the price to something reasonable.

Bullet Magnet 02-22-2014 12:12 PM

Picked up Fable Anniversary. It's nice because I tried replaying the original the other day and was taken aback by the lack of widescreen and old interface and graphics. Of course, since I don't play on an HD screen I can't read anything.

There's some fun new gear available, including the Cleaver from Gears of War.

Varrok 02-22-2014 12:21 PM

I've heard it has framerate issues and lowres videos. Also, even less practical ingame menus

Mr. Bungle 02-24-2014 10:49 AM

My brother picked up Lego Marvel Heroes last week so I've been playing that a lot, both with him and without.

So much fun. It's massive. There are at least a hundred characters to unlock and play as, tons of levels to play through, things to collect, and the writing is quite clever and funny. You can tell it was made and written by Marvel fans.

Oh, and the main hub (Manhatten) is just incredibly ripe with things to do, people to help, stuff to destroy, studs to collect... the game is just massive, I can't stop playing. Webbing around the city as Carnage or flying on Green Goblin's flyer while bombing aior vents for studs is just so damn satisfying. One of the best games I've played in a while, to be honest. The freedom and creativity is such a breath of fresh air. Best Marvel game I've played since... well, probably ever. And it's fucking LEGO. Awesome.

Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta try and unlock Deadpool.

OANST 02-24-2014 12:07 PM

I played LocoCycle, the new piece of fun stupidity by Twisted Pixel (The Maw,'Splosion Man). It's not a perfect game, but it is incredibly entertaining, and if you like on rails shooters then I suggest giving it a download.

Bullet Magnet 02-24-2014 12:49 PM

Is that the one where you use the guy who's fallen off as a weapon?

OANST 02-24-2014 01:02 PM

Yeah. You drag your Mexican mechanic, who got his pants caught in you, and yells at you in Spanish throughout the whole game, behind you, using him as both a melee weapon and a boomerang type weapon.

Bullet Magnet 02-24-2014 01:11 PM

Does he survive that?

OANST 02-24-2014 01:54 PM

Oh, yeah. He's fine.

EVP_Glukkon 03-01-2014 07:02 AM

Wipeout 2048 and some Silent Hill on my PS Vita.

MeechMunchie 03-02-2014 02:12 AM

I didn't know Glukkons had Vitas.

Job McYossie 03-02-2014 03:03 AM

Playing Euro Truck Simulator because it was in the humble bundle. Got the bundle for TrainZ, which I ended up not liking. But ETS is crazy entertaining for reasons I still can't figure out. Doesn't seem like it would be fun to play at all. But it is.

TheOddgamer98 03-02-2014 03:07 AM

Currently i play Minecraft PS3, Minecraft PE, GTA San Andreas and Much's Oddysee HD again. Because i Had these bugs with i regrow nothing. Now im getting the platinum :)

Varrok 03-02-2014 01:05 PM

I've just finished the Dig. It was a good game. Very enjoyable. The story was quite interesting, though a bit cliche.

Crashpunk 03-03-2014 03:02 AM

Doing a Let's play on Ratchet & Clank 2. Still my favorite in the series. Another game which I know pretty much back of my hand.

Also played Crash Team Racing for the first time in what seems like 10 years. Terrific kart racer, I actually prefer it over some Mario Kart games. I love the jumping to gain speed mechanic, there's one track which is just jumps after jumps. So fun :)

OANST 03-04-2014 10:38 AM

If any of you like precision platformers, I can't say enough about bit.trip Runner 2. I fell back in love with video games. I stayed home from work yesterday because my tire blew, and I ended up playing it for eight straight hours.

Isn't it just an infinite runner type of game though? I think that's what basically put me off the first one.

Varrok 03-04-2014 01:25 PM

Infinite? It had levels that you can complete and boss battles

OANST 03-04-2014 01:41 PM

Yeah. It's not an infinite runner. It's true that you don't control the running, which makes dodging and jumping sound easy, but it isn't. The game is amazing, and hard as shit.

Dynamithix 03-04-2014 01:50 PM

Oh yeah, my bad, it wasn't an infinite runner. But still, does it improve over the first one in any way? Are there any new mechanics that offer some variety to the gameplay?

Varrok 03-04-2014 01:53 PM

Yes, I've heard there's plenty of these there

Dynamithix 03-04-2014 01:56 PM

Thanks, that definitely gave me an idea of what's new in the game!

OANST 03-04-2014 02:02 PM

By the time you're done with the first world the game is throwing so much shit at you, you feel like you're going to have a nervous break down. It gets easier to handle once you become accustomed to it though. Just download the demo. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Crashpunk 03-05-2014 01:15 AM

The only BIT.TRIP game i've played is BEAT. And I will defend that game to the death. Had tons of fun with it.

AlexFili 03-08-2014 02:24 AM

It's been a little while since I did this so I'd best focus on my most recent exploits.

FTL: Faster Than Light is fantastic. I love the random nature of the game as you always get a slightly different experience each time. The different ships are varied enough to promote entirely different playstyles whether you're a boarder, a droid-maniac or someone who just loves giant laser beams! Some of the ships are hard to unlock but at least there is a good level of challenge to it. Spent about 90 hours on it so far and will no doubt play for quite a while more.

I've played quite a few 3DS games as well these past few months, the ones I am enjoying the most are Pokemon Y, Naruto Powerful Shippuden, Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D, Ghost Recon Shadow Wars and Super Mario Land 3D. I'm a bit of a Streetpass addict so I've been carrying around my 3DS everywhere and picking up Miis from all over the place.

In terms of the 3DS Virtual Console I've also been playing through Balloon Fight, Castlevania II Simons Quest and Super Mario Bros 3. I've never finished Simons Quest before so I'm really trying hard to get it complete and fill an empty part of my life.

Very much looking forward to Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Watch Dogs and Treyarch's next CoD. Beyond that I'll likely pick up a few PC based indie titles, but who knows.

Job McYossie 03-08-2014 03:54 PM

Very excited for the new smash bros.
