This screenie looks absolutely gorgeous. Good job, JAW. It really looks like the "atmosphere" will make it through the translation.

Hells yes. I cannot wait to see this released.

also i never thought the spikes went completely through. i would have thought it easier to insert them only part way through after drilling/chiseling a hole, yet still enough to adequately hold it's weight. as long as it fits snug and the material is strong. |
I figures they were petrified paramite egg cases.
|
Excellent job JAW. Nailed it.

I think the boulders are the wrong color of boulder, and also those lines around the picture, the uh forum, I think it's called, that's just place holder right? 'Cause if not, that's pretty disappointing.

Looks great! There's a graininess that reminds me of the original FMVs too.
|
Beautiful, just beautiful.
The little mushrooms are adorable, too. xD |
Awesome work JAW! This is really amazing!
|
They have mastered the temples for sure. I can't wait to see some more HD Inhabitants!

The developer blog that was done for the Stranger's wrath remake was great. It should be done for this, but limiting the information we get from it so that there's still surprise and huge interest in the actual game release. If not for New 'n' Tasty, then for the next game. It keeps us excited.
A blog could have been done for this image, with a bit of a story behind how the imge was produced, the development of the scene, technical limitations, hopes for the final product, work arounds. Things that are normal for developers, but inspirational for us fans. |
This just got posted yesterday on OI's website.

COULD IT BE?
Why, yes it could... It's... the right green |
Yeah, but the status sign is the wrong yellow.
|
Fuck yeah, right green!
|
It's not gloomy enough. Needs more gloom.
|
I hate you people.
|
you guys are funny :D... Thanks for the post Chipango! Looks great OWI/JAW!
It need more filth, dust, stains. Also, I've just thought about this now: you know that effect hot surfaces have on light? The heat in the air above the surface causes the light to refract, and the image you would normally see looks all distorted? http://physics.highpoint.edu/~mdewit...rted-light.jpg Like above.. The road surface is hot, the top of the car is hot, and it makes the image received by the camera seem wobbly. Everyone always says that Atmosphere plays a huge role in Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus. I think by using such subtle effects like these that better reflect reality, you'd be setting yourselves apart from other games who possibly miss these details. I'm really curious, can anyone else think of such visual or even acoustic effects that occur in real life that are maybe so subtle that a games developer wouldn't ever have even thought about including it? |
The green is too right.
|
Yup, that's some nice green...

I like that it took a moment to register that it wasn't the original. that is awesome. Abe's oddysee but more...shiny. and Quick Save..ey.
