Yeah. My point is that nobody listens to the slippery slope argument. Nobody really cares for it. Even though it can be very real.

Yeah, I'd probably do the same. I'm pretty much pro opt-out.

Yeah, I think that'll happen, too.

It's exciting to think about, really! Even though I can guarantee humanity will fuck it up somewhere down the line.

You don't need a driving licence, just get a donor card. In fact, it's pretty much hypocrisy if you don't. "Other people can be but to bits but not me."

Who's that guy again OANST?

I remember him. He's Jacob.

Bullet Magnet 08-21-2013 01:13 PM

Growing human organs: it's more likely than you think.

Did you read anything I put or did you automatically assume I meant autistic kids (who totally rock, by the way! ...usually in a corner...reciting numbers) and kids with aspergers? Please re-read. Please keep your knees from jerking. Kthx..

i'm sorry i didn't read the entirety of your towering babble. please forgive me.

you remind me of Majic, he makes massive fucking ranting posts too, but he carries less entitlement. i prefer Majic's bullshit.

Oh no, I'm all for people having bits of me, I just don't care that much to go out of my way, haha.

Interesting you say 'entitlement'.

Yeah. My point is that nobody listens to the slippery slope argument. Nobody really cares for it. Even though it can be very real.

Again, you're kind of fighting your own argument.

If slippery slopes are real, do you not see a problem with legalising one (1) form of murder?

Vyrien 08-22-2013 12:59 AM

This is an offaly controversial topic.

OddjobAbe 08-22-2013 01:06 AM

We cadaver friendly discussion if you weren't all so opinionated.

Oddjob's profound insight into this topic, ladies and gentlemen.

However, eventually the disabled (of all shapes and sizes) will be non-existent. With science advancing in such a way that we can now pinpoint genetic disorders and diseases, it won't be long before we're reading about the disabled in history books or watching documentaries about how they used to live in the wild.

You've forgotten about disabilities due to injury.

MeechMunchie 08-22-2013 12:13 PM

Let's just put everyone's brains into robots already.

Nepsotic 08-22-2013 01:01 PM

Like this?

MeechMunchie 08-22-2013 01:36 PM

Yeah. Nothing could possibly go wrong there.

Varrok 08-22-2013 01:41 PM

What a waste of a perfectly good robot body.

Nepsotic 08-22-2013 01:49 PM

For once, I actually agree with Varrok.

Hey, guys! It's Jacob!

I'm embarrassed I gave him a serious response. I mean, not so much seeing the effort he puts in to his reply but geeze Mac you used to have this.

Go away, Jacob.

Bullet Magnet 08-22-2013 09:42 PM

I got some rep out of it.

Slog Bait 08-22-2013 10:14 PM

Well, aren't yoooou special.

Manco 08-23-2013 03:24 AM

I just downvoted BM out of spite.

MeechMunchie 08-23-2013 08:31 AM

I got rep too. MA reps me whenever I complain about anything.

I just downvoted BM out of spite.

And I will have my revenge. In this life or... shit.

And just like that, the pressure's on.

Slog Bait 08-23-2013 11:44 AM

Manco vs. BM, who will win?

I'd pay to see that fight

that'll be the misanthropy.

Nate 08-23-2013 05:28 PM

That's enough rep talk.

I was listening to a podcast about Jehovah's Witnesses the other day. Apparently it's no longer official doctrine, but there was a time when they were not allowed to receive organ transplants because it was officially classified as cannibalism.

Slog Bait 08-23-2013 05:36 PM

That may very well be one of the best things I've learned all week.

Bullet Magnet 08-23-2013 09:48 PM

They don't allow blood transfusions, so organs transplants are hardly going to be kosher, are they?

I had this big argument with a JW a while back about pressuring parents to shun their kids if their stop being JW. I could only stand hearing so many attempts to justify shunning before I was too sick to continue.

Bear in mind that the doctrine against transfusions is because the bible disallows drinking blood. And for some reason they count transfusion as a form of drinking.

Yeah, it's pretty terrible. But they're hardly the only religion to advocate that.

STM 08-24-2013 02:08 AM

Reminds me of that fantastic quote from the American Office

:

It's an Amish technique. It's like slapping someone with silence. I was shunned from the age of four until my sixth birthday... for not saving the excess oil from a can of tuna.

It doesn't always stick.
