He doesn't just use one. And if you want to know what happens to the one that lives in Paramonia, it gets blown up.
The Free-Fire Zone is pretty much the most atmospheric area in AO, so I’ll be looking forward to that.
Monsaic Lines, Scrabania, Stockyards/Free-Fire Zone. I'm really excited to see these.
I had a dream about New and Tasty last night. I know in part it's because I'm really sad but also, when a game resonates with you so much that you dream about playing it, you know it's one of the best you've ever played. Can't wait to see the full Rupture Farms as well as Monsaic, the industrial areas are beautiful in their own right really and I think that's quite understated.
I used to dream about AO when I first played it. Now when I play it I always get nostalgia and great memories of playing it with My dad.
My dreams about AO would really qualify as nightmares.
Yeah I vaguely remember dreaming about getting chased by Slogs down the road. Not to mention the Fleeches used to freak me out so much I couldn't even sleep some nights. This was all after playing Abe's Exoddus with my Dad for a few hours.
...Kids shouldn't play Oddworld. |
:
Paramites in general used to freak me the fuck out.
VYKKERS ARE SATAN HIMSELF
But Vykkers don't really have anything to do with Abe's Oddysee so it's fine.
We were going over scary oddworld characters. I'm not even going to mention clakkers....
*shudders* |
What, are you chicken?
Don't mention chickens!
*shudders* |
TCP/IP LAN and online multiplayer and level editing. Maybe even some modding support.
How the hell would online multiplayer work?
Second player plays Alf in some dedicated zones designed for puzzles that require two players.

Only this time, during Abes escape, there will be 2 other muds who also find out about the the gluks plans. Then I assume the puzzle aspects will be one player has the ability to talk and the other one can open portals/possess enemies. Then as 2 players go through the game, they'll be just behind Abe or something and maybe rescue creatures as well as stray workers? They can play around with it quite a lot if they do this. I mean, they could even make it a racing game where you have to roll or run through a trial together and try use the level to slow down your opponent. Escape the gas or slog or something. |
I like the race idea, but the idea of a multiplayer story seems really boring to me.
One player would play as Abe, and the other would effectively be the Dungeon Master, sending wave after wave of sligs and slogs against an unarmed player 1 in a level specially designed by player 2 to have no walls, ledges or other tools to escape the oncoming horror.
Two player where you just take turns after death was fine by me. Especially since I was better than my brother and ended up playing for like 1/2 an hour at a time.
I don't know guys. I'm pretty sure I heard that Lorne is hell bent against multiplayer at this point.
Really, OANST? I hadn't heard that. Please expand on his views a little.
Nuh uh, I'm doing this one.

Maybe some small multiplayer minigames or fighting/racing matches in themed arenas or tracks. Kinda like the multiplayer in Conker's Bad Fur Day. For Instance, an Elum race or a slig shooting match. Maybe a cooking minigame where you prepare RuptureFarms products. What I would like is some extras, like a character gallery or something.
What do you not understand about "people are degenerates, and should never be allowed to communicate with each other?"

:
Or maybe all players play simultaneously like a race. |
:
I get what hes saying, and I mean, its true. You hop into any online multiplayer game, for example dota 2, and the moment you make a mistake, there are some people who just scream like rabid howler monkeys and say "LOL NOOB FAGGOT" or "UNINSTALL DOTA. YOU DIED ONCE." But, Lorne is wrong in one sense. If the multiplayer function worked in a way where you choose who you play with and not someone random, I think it could work. I myself enjoy playing co-op over LAN with some one I know who enjoys the game the same way I do. For example, Magicka works well when its with some one you know. |
How about a Mudokon beating mini game where the slig with the highest number of beatings after one minute is the winner?
:
I might be wrong of course; OWF is a mysterious place. |
Online multiplayer wouldn't work. Games with puzzles were not meant to be co-operative, everyone is either terrible or better than you and that makes people maaaaad.
The actual problem with multiplayer puzzle games is finding someone who has not finished more puzzles than you. It's no fun figuring out a puzzle with someone who already knows it, and vice versa. Which makes that achievement on Portal 2 all the more perplexing.
That's the only one I don't have.
To get it, not only must you track down a player who has just acquired a copy, but you also have to ruin their fun.
I'm pretty sure you only have to complete the calibration course.
What was the Stranger multiplayer like? What did you do, and who was the other character?
Not many of us got to play the beta. It's a painful memory. The glimpse of what could have been... and Wil's asshole trolling.
Though I'd like it on record that the servers closed with me at the top of the leaderboards That last match counted, dammit, I don't care what any of you rubes say. |
