Espeon suddenly stopped being my favourite eeveelution.

I would recommend Black/White 1/2, since those games are of very high quality and give the player a lot of control and help. There are also thousands of people who can help you on gamefaqs and other sites.

that's actually a very good point. there are a lot of people saying it could be a normal type due to the fact it looks like it would be in the 'fairy' category and it has colours that are usually associated with the normal type. personally i think it would suck

It does actually look like a Flying type now that you mention it. Now all we need is are Dragon and Ghost type Eeveelutions.

And Poison, and Ground, and Rock etc.

Since we normally get 2 Eveelutions per generation, we'll be waiting a while.

Also, a question. Is there actually any "proper" time to swap out a Pokemon in my team for a new one? I know some species have higher base stats, but due to value randomisation and the differing moves that they can learn, it doesn't seem a reliable yardstick to go by.

I guess I'm supposed to just take ones I think look cool, raise them regardless of ability, and learn valuable lessons about friendship. And then lose because my team is all Bug Pokemon.

You can switch out whenever just be aware you're going to have to level grind until your thumbs fall off.

If you're playing casual, whatever your team ends up being doesn't matter. If you're playing competitive though, or trying to get through shit like the battle frontier, you'll need to actually think about what kind of build your team has.

Probably because HG/SS took all the gameplay improvements from previous generations then applied them to one of the most fondly remembered “classic” generations.

You get quality gameplay plus nostalgia and familiarity.

My copy of Black version arrived today.

Is there anything I absolutely need to know before I start? Like anything really crazy that might screw me over if I don’t know it’s coming, like a legendary with only one encounter or some batshit?

Try not to get too used to animated sprites, it made it harder for me to enjoy the others.

The game is quite challenging I found. The levels of the wild and trainer's Pokemon increase very quickly so I would grind a lot.

You will encounter Reshiram near the end of the game and there is only one. So save before you encounter it. They're others but those are after you've done the Elite Four.

Also almost all of the Pokemon look fucking retarded. :tard: However they're a handful of really awesome looking ones. Cofagrigus for example looks amazing.

E: That is so true and It's only going to get worse, since X and Y have fully animated models.

I thought it was pretty much required to catch Reshiram/Zekrom. I haven't played in awhile, but I distinctly remember you having to catch them in order to continue with the plot.

Black and White actually prove to be a challenge at times, making it so wild pokemon can fuck your shit up. I suggest going for shaking patches of grass early on whenever you spot them because they usually contain Audino and they're perfect for level grinding.

Also Crashpunk you shit the gen 5 pokemon look just as good as any other gen of pokemon. Psst Manco get Scraggy you won't regret it

Oh God when Solosis finally becomes a Reuniclus it fucking destroys. Somewhat bulky with relatively high special attack. Him and Chandelure are my double battle babies because they both destroy everything.
