Mr. Bungle 07-09-2012 01:03 PM

I had sleep paralysis once. It just felt like I was lying in bed and couldn't move. Don't remember any hallucinations or anything, just being awake and not being able to get up. I remember a few minutes of that, then dozing off and waking up a little while later. It was strange.

I have a question, is it actually possible to.. well, Die in a dream? or do you just wake up instantly, because i have heard in a fact that its impossible

anyway on that topic a dream i had two nights ago actually was i was in a car going to wards a railroad crossing, (i cant remember anything before the dream, but i do know there was something before that) anyway i was speeding towards the railroad crossing in the passengers seat and then a train started going through, for some reason we didn't stop but instead sped up, all i can remember is the feeling before hitting that train because for some reason i thought it was so real, i remember something go through my head like the thought of when you die theres nothing left. its like my dream felt so real that in my head i said goodbye to life.. anyway i woke up in a sweat thinking is that what you feel before death

One scene in my dream last night included MancOddHunter nagging me to play Sonic Generations. Hopefully it wasn't prophetic.

If you mean die in the dream itself, read STM's post. If you mean die in real life, that is in fact possible. People can have heart attacks because of how scared they get in dreams. I saw that on 1000 ways to die.

Unless you meet Freddy Krueger.

Canada is where waking terrors go to fuck right off I guess

Sekto Springs 07-09-2012 07:02 PM

Freddy won't kill Canadians either.

oh wow,

Also just to brighten this scary dream voodoo i wish to tell you a story :D

3 guys go on a skiing trip at a near by mount, the hottest skiing instructor comes over and gives them some tips on how to ski, after the skiing trip the three guys go up to the lodge that they're staying at the night but theres only one bed so they just just jump in together, they all fall asleep, suddenly in the middle of the night they all sit up, the guy on the right sais to the guy on the left, "Bro i had a dream that the hot instructor was jacking me off!" "Same!" said the one on the left "what were you dreaming about?" he sais to the guy in the middle, "I was dreaming i was skiing".

Nepsotic 07-09-2012 11:19 PM

That would be awkward if they were in the same bed.

Manco 07-10-2012 04:24 AM

They were in the same bed.

Mac Sirloin 07-10-2012 05:53 AM

Apparently I wasn't the only one to picture them all in the same bed.

I had a horrendous dream about dying in a train. Me and my family were sat on the seats in a line, and as the train crashed into a wall each person burst into blood one by one and I had to sit and wait for it to happen to me. After I died I heard this noise like "WOOOOPWOOOPWOOP" in my head, then woke up.

STM 07-10-2012 07:31 AM

It was Zoidberg wasn't it?

JayDee 07-10-2012 07:35 AM

This morning i had my first taste of Sleep Paralysis. My alarm went off and i couldn't move at all, it was really weird. It only lasted a short while, but unusual nonetheless.

Gwan-Thwei 07-10-2012 09:13 AM

Well, i know my dreams are sometimes affected by outside stimuli.
Once, i had this dream where I was on the edge of a short cliff overlooking a large lava pool. I was arranging my beanie babies so they could see the lava too (i was eight, hush) when one of them fell off and landed on the shoreline next to the lava. I jumped off of the cliff but missed. I hit my head on a sharp rock and burned to death in freezing cold lava.
I woke up to find i had rolled out of bed when i jumped off the cliff. The sharp rock was my nightstand, and the cold lava was me laying on the floor.

I didn't actually think of Zoidberg as I wrote about it, I reckon that would have made the dream more light-hearted. Unfortunately it was more of a loud, ear-bursting sound as if someone was being teleported, or a laser was being charged.

GLaDOS 07-10-2012 09:27 AM

I had a dream a while ago when I was younger, about 5. It may not sound scary, but I guess it was really a nightmare. Me and my family were at our caravan site (even though i never saw my family in the dream I knew they were there) and I went off to play in the field and this weird goose started squawking at me REALLY LOUDLY, and I was just running with this horrifying goose chasing me. I woke up because I was so scared, and ran into my parents room and got in the bed. I tried to sleep again ,got to sleep, but then I heard something and the goose was at the bottom of the bed. And then I woke up again. Yeah, not that scary? Well it was terrifying.

Gwan-Thwei 07-10-2012 11:52 AM

Okay, so me and these other people were having a field trip to somewhere in the middle of the night on a deserted dirt road. It was dark as fuck out, and i couldn't see anything outside. The driver stopped because we all kept seeing something on the windows, and so he went outside to look and never came back. Other people went to go find him and they never came back either. There were only like four of us left in the minivan and the thing came back to get us. It stole one by reaching in an open window and dragging them away, and it killed another by jamming its claws through the metal door they were leaning up against. The thing tore off the door closest to me and stood right outside the frame, staring at me. I asked my little sister to sit on my lap because she was on the other end of the bus and the thing could easily kill her.
All of the sudden, in the blink of an eye, he had rushed inside and grabbed my arm hard. I woke up, my heart in my throat, to find out that my cat had plopped down on my arm for a nap.

The thing looked like this: http://www.schellstudio.com/gallery/..._display_media

I don't dream very often.

When I do it's mostly dreams about physical exertion where I'm running across town trying to catch a bus or trying to climb over a wall or other things that require lots of effort and stress.

I end up waking up feeling exhausted.

You dream every night... you just can't remember every dreams.

Nepsotic 07-10-2012 01:43 PM

Yes, at some point in REM sleep, you have at least 1 dream.

On an unrelated note, 1000!
