I'm about to paste the word 'Chrome' a billion times nao.

The only other browser on this shit is default; MIS*

It's a load of shite; images and videos load too slow, plus it has all these toolbars automatically installed that I don't even want, and they take up more than half of the monitor.

JennyGenesis 12-10-2011 04:03 AM

I used to use Firefox, but I prefer the simple layout of Safari and I like how it shows your frequently displayed sites when you open a new tab, it's like having bookmarks without actually adding them. Only problem with Safari is that I find it doesn't work well with Facebook.

I'm using Chrome right now.

It is the worst computer program I've ever had the misfortune of using, and I've worked with Access.

I have to use that for my IT coursework... it's irritating as fuck.

I use Chrome for a browser. It's the fastest I've ever used, in comparison to Firefox and IE, which have always been sluggish for me. Chrome may be very basic, but it does what I want it to.

Manco 12-10-2011 04:47 AM

I stick with Firefox for the same reason Nate does. I kind of want to start using Opera because I feel Firefox has become a bit sluggish, at least for me. But at the end of the day, it gets the job done, is still reasonably fast, and has add-on support.

What version are you using? IE9 (assuming MIS* is IE) is actually decent.

moxco 12-10-2011 04:47 AM

Access? Learn to SQL people.

ITT we discuss Moxco's mediocre databasing skills.

STM 12-10-2011 05:43 AM

I don't really understand the problem, to me, it seems that the only bad browser is IE, all the other ones are okay in at least one perspective.

JennyGenesis 12-10-2011 06:24 AM

So whats good about IE, AOL and Shiiraa then?

(Or however you spell it)

Havoc 12-10-2011 06:28 AM

As I read on Twitter once. Internet Explorer is not a browser. It is, however, a tool to download one.

So whats good about IE

IE9 is far more standards-compliant than previous versions, has a prettier and more cut-down UI, supports HTML5, can be used to pin websites to the Win7 taskbar, and is pretty damn fast.

A lot of people have horror stories about IE6-8, which were terrible. IE9 is leaps and bounds better than those.

idk when i used internet explorer i picked up sh*t tons of viruses, now when im using firefox i dont seem to get any intrusions.

hedjeroo 12-10-2011 05:32 PM

I use Firefox for regular browsing. I love its customisation options, especially FireGestures. Oh god I love FireGestures. The only way I can put up with using my PC that doesn't have it, is because the mouse has back and forward buttons on it.

I use Opera and Chrome for a couple other miscellaneous things, like browsing porno incognito ;) (isn't that what everybody uses Chrome and Firefox for?) and power tabbing.

STM 12-10-2011 05:35 PM

Why go incognito when you have your own laptop ^-^

hedjeroo 12-10-2011 05:50 PM

It's not to hide it from my boyfriend, it's to hide it from myself. ._.

Chrome has been like a roller coaster for me. Some days it's rocket speed and other days i could brew a pot of coffee, take a shit, do some laundry, take a shower, and it will still be trying to load up the web page.

Phylum 12-10-2011 07:52 PM

Oh, I get it now. I'm so glad you clarified that for me.

EDIT:

mr.odd posted while I was typing.

Mudokon_Master 12-10-2011 11:24 PM

Oh never mind. I thought I was being clever when I was really -
Er, never mind. Forget I said anything.

Again, what version were you using. IE9 is substantially safer than previous versions.

Wings of Fire 12-11-2011 10:22 AM

okay I admit it was dumb to rage about google chrome and I am sorry I called you stupid.

I just don't feel comfortable with Google. it's a huge corp. and practically everywhere. Firefox is funded by Google with 60 million dollars per year.
the fund ends this year. let's see what happens after that. Google Chrome passed Firefox in November for the first time with a market share of 25.69% (FF - 25.23%).

this is an interview with Google' chief executive Eric Schmidt
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/c3e49548-0...#axzz1gH2VY2NL

and from the Wall Street Journal

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...099527212.html

Google doesn't just want to be a search engine, it wants to organize my life? everyone knows Google's tracking, not many do care. it's the same with Facebook. I think we still lack the awareness that when I use the Internet, I also alter and shape the internet, we all do it together. and because we are all connected and use the same pool we are affecting each other. the internet does have its own language, even its own humour.
don't get me wrong, I don't think that's a bad thing, in contrary I think it's great, but I think something like google which already gives you suggestions with Autocomplete, which is a monopoly and you're kinda dependent on it and which openly admits that it wants to suggest what I want...

that's it, I try to avoid google by using ixquick p.e. but I still can't really avoid it, if I want to get good results. that's quite anxious. I also use blogspot

a bit of a comic relief

You do realize that the speed of a website relies on more than just a browser? It's unfair to blame a browser if you're trying to connect to an overloaded server or something.

Mudokon_Master 12-11-2011 05:31 PM

It also depends on how many people are using your provider at different hours. For example, everything will be faster at 5am (before people are awake) as opposed to 7:30pm (prime time).

JennyGenesis 12-12-2011 01:16 PM

That still makes me laugh just as much as it did the first time,

Anybody ever see the making of video for that? That was hilarious to.

Anyway, I use 2 internet browsers and this is how I use them:

Firefox: Facebook, Photobox

Safari: Everything else.

MA 12-12-2011 01:51 PM

i have two testicles and this is how i use them:

Left Bollock: Scratching, Gathering fluff

Right Bollock: Hanging at a slightly higher position than the aforementioned bollock.

Wil 12-13-2011 02:01 AM

Holy fuck, that's how I use mine too! Let's be bollock buddies!
