Sorry to ask a noob question. But why does TF2 on the Xbox 360 get none of the cool updates that the PC gets? Eg Hats, Items and so on...

Thanks and I love playing TF2! :D

Because Microsoft's Xbox division looooooves money and the cost to implement the many updates and maps added through the years would not justify any money that could be made back from them, nor Mircosofts wallet-devouring red tape.

Also, Consoles are for babies.

MeechMunchie 12-13-2011 10:40 AM

I doubt they'll bother fixing the console versions now that the PC version is free.

More to the point, you could just play it on PC for nothing if you wanted the updates. It's ot particularly demanding of your hardware.

I would go for PC but I've found out that a ton of games on the PC are full of hacks.

And one of the games I would get for the PC is...... COUNTER STRIKE!

Crashpunk 12-13-2011 02:12 PM

What is it with you and hacks? Stop worrying about them! I'm pretty sure Counter Strike has way more hackers then TF2 anyway.

Also Counter Strike is inferior to Team Fortress in my opinion.

No no no. I only ment Counter strike games other games like COD, BF3

Didn't know TF2 had hacks but then all games have them.

Anyway I would always like to try both. I should be able to CS next year.

Crashpunk 12-13-2011 02:24 PM

Well again games like CoD and BF have very tough anti-cheating systems, The Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) is fantistic. Hacking is a thing of the past. It still goes on, but not as much. :D

And you won't be disappointed with both games, there fantastic.

EDIT: Just released. New Christmas comic!

I'm sorry for a double post but its important!

Introducing the new TF2 christmas update!

DAY 1

-Finally a Engineer Pack!

-Pomson 6000 (Energy Gun)
A gun that fires a projectile which drains enemy's cloak and ubercharge!
It also doesn't need ammo and cannot be deflected
It doesn't much/if any damage

-Eureka Effect (Wrench)
Alt-fire teleports you back to the spawn room
Downside

-Pyro Pack

-The Phlogistinator (Flamethrower)
Fire damage build up a 'Mmmph' meter
Once full you can activate it for health and crits for 7 seconds!

-The Third Degree (Fire Axe) This ones my favorite
Damage is transfered to all players being healed by a Medic
(Hit a Medic, The person who he is healing also gets damaged)
same damage and crit ratio as the Slot Fire Axe

-The Manmelter 3600 XZ (Partical Flair gun)
Doesn't need ammo
Can't be defelcted
Gives one crit to a teammate if they are extingushed by this weapon.
Downside, No random crits.

What do you guys think?

Carnix 12-15-2011 02:09 AM

Competitively, some of those weapons look lame at first glance.

THE POMSON 6000 Does little/no damage? Taking PISTOL over any other Engineer secondary weapon is ridiculous unless your going for an offensive GUNSLINGER build, in which case FRONTIER JUSTICE is a must. If you're not using the mini sentry, you really need some supporting form of ranged damage. The heavy medium-ranged damage that a well-placed shotgun shot provides cannot be seriously replaced by the ability to drain Medics and Spies of their fun. Probably worth sticking this gun in a secondary loadout, though. I can see it being situationally useful if the opposition starts spamming Ubercharges.

THE EUREKA EFFECT lets you teleport to spawn but stops you from picking up and moving your buildings. I guess this one is heavily down to personal preference and play-style but I, personally, can see a lot more use in moving buildings than returning to spawn snappy. I quite often find myself moving a base of Level 3 gear from one point to the next when the opposition is driven back enough. Also, being able to build up your Sentry behind a wall then move it out into position allows you to effectively build up your defence from scratch while under fire.

THE BRAINIAC GOGGLES & MATH ENHANCING HAIR-DO are hats! Perfect for everyone running an Engineer build which is not poor and Irish. But there are other, equally useful hats available already.

THE THIRD DEGREE I'm not sure on. But I'm running DEGREASER+AXETINGUISHER and BACKBURNER(I know, I'm sorry!)+HOMEWRECKER. The DEGREASER has a fast weapon switch allowing us to switch swiftly to the AXETINGUISHER to get sweet damage on the target we just ignited. If you're like me, and have to be on a sugar-high or something to display those kinds of skills, THE THIRD DEGREE might be to your liking. It's just not to mine.

THE PHLOGISTINATOR's 'Mmmph' effect looks very useful. It would be nice to play a survivable Pyro for once. However, Airblast comes in really handy once you start remembering to use it, and I don't think I could go back to being without it.

THE MANMELTER 3600 ZX I want to know more about. If its damage output is significant enough, this could be a really good replacement for the SHOTGUN I use to take out enemy Pyros.

THE BUBBLE PIPE & MOONMAN BACKPACK is a hat and a misc item! Perfect for everyone running a Pyro build which is not poor and Irish. But there are other, equally useful hats and misc items available already.

All the weapons sound really good. The Eureka Effect is a fantastic idea. If you get in trouble (eg a Ubercharge destroys your stuff) you can teleport away plus you can teleport to get more metal quickly and the Third Degree could be useful. You could double killing when you crit :)

Also Degreaser + Flair Gun + Axetinguisher remains one of the most annoying loadouts in the game. Fucking hate Pyros.

Pyros are not that bad. Just as long as your friend a medic or there water near by. The wrost are the engineers!

I still stand by moving buildings trumping this. Against an Ubercharge, get your Wrangler shield up and be Wrenching your Sentry. If your team's got your back, your sentry could very well survive to finish off the assailants once the charge runs out. Also, if you have to return to spawn every time you need metal, unless you're building right outside your spawn, you're doing it wrong.

Actually, Pyro is my anti-medic class, so this isn't quite as situational as I first thought.

Actually, the "wrost" are whichever class you don't have a counter strategy prepared for. I don't usually have a massive problem with Pyros or Medics. My primary class being Engie, my wrost are Snipers and Demomen.

I really look down on players who get worked up about a class or weapon or weapon-combination, blaming their failure on an accusation of over-power on their opposition's part. I submit that repetative failures are a good indication of an area you can improve yourself in. If you can't stand up to Pyros, figure out why and fix it, they do have weaknesses as well as strengths.

It's improve me a lot knowing what to do. To take down engineer and his sentry gun just become the spy. If your trying to kill the medic just use the soldier (The same goes if your trying to kill the Snipers, Demomen)

Well that's how I role. :D

I prefer to have a scope larger than one target class when I choose mine. And, FYI, I am an Engineer, and Spies rarely touch me. After a while in the profession, you learn how to spot them and never open your back up. Rather than choosing one class to oppose another, I stick to my select favourite play-styles and learn to counter as many opposing classes as possible. I find class choice more heavily affects your impact in match situations rather than which enemies you can and can't take on.

That's why I wish there where MORE games like this. But god I was so pea off when I found out I was helping a spy! ):

That won't happen anymore. Only once. :p

Destro 02-26-2012 08:39 AM

Sometimes I have a feeling that these people are running out of idea's for newer weapons and hats:/

Crashpunk 03-12-2012 07:13 AM

Well after about 3-4 weeks off TF2, I went back on it and...

The Phlogistinator is the most broken weapon in the game. It makes more players turn to the "W+M1 pyro" tactic i.e spam the flamethrower and walk towards them. It annoys me so fricking much I disconnect the server.

okay rant over, I've only just recently found out community items have been released into the game as a weekly thing which I just think it's pretty neat since they are so many awesome ideas on the Workshop. However so far they haven't relesed that many good items, mostly miscs.

You can craft them or buy them for £6.99/$9.99 which is still really expensive but it sells. If you get an item into TF2, your pretty much set for life.

Varrok 03-12-2012 07:55 AM

I especially like this one:

Havoc 03-13-2012 09:22 AM

I'm actually proud to say that I've spent a minimal amount of money in that store. I bought 2 keys once to open those crates that contain strange weapons. Other than that I've crafted or traded everything I've got. Not that I've got anything particularly rare, but still.

enchilado 03-13-2012 03:10 PM

I've never bought anything.

I'm tempted to get the Unarmed Combat, though.

Crashpunk 03-13-2012 11:45 PM

I've spent way too much on TF2 and I do regret it a lot. I have some pretty neat items though. :tard:

sheridanm962 03-13-2012 11:48 PM

Sadly I cannot play TF2 unless I get a new computer, otherwise it takes up too much space (taking up 10Gb on top of other games on a 60GB hard-drive is not a good idea) :(
