I have to agree, there is some impressive gameplay in there.

A TAS would be nice but I'm assuming that it's too early for Xbox at the moment?
|
:
A TAS would be exciting but I doubt there are any very developed emulators for XBOX as there are to other consoles like the Wii/Gamecube or the PS2 (which have very useable and compatible emulators now; TAS' can be done on these with ease). There exist none that are very developed and certainly none that would be suitable for a TAS at least. |

Here's a failed speedrun attempt I did about a week or so ago, which also shows this strange 4-yellow-stars glitch on two of the enemies:

I don't think this video has any glitches in it, so I'll put it here. This is what a low% speedrun route would kinda look like for Packrat Palooka if I didn't screw up:

I don't know if I should make a new thread about this because it basically goes with this thread: Do all of the tricks in this thread work for the HD version? If they don't, then I'll upload a different method for doing a trick and someone can tell me if that method works or not. It's still going to be about a week or two before I can start recording the speedrun again, so I might as well do this in the meantime.
|
This is what Sekto's timed room should look like in my speedrun once I can finally get what I need to record it. -_-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDeWcwQipzk Also, should I make a new thread to figure out new methods for doing this game's route in a speedrun of the HD version? It would be like what my above post says, so I don't really know if it would be worth making a new thread for. |
This is the closest I've ever gotten to skipping Xplosives McGee:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faf-Xhnap8c And here's how I got inside the unloaded Port Authority: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo3T1qA7nW8 I'm pretty sure that loading zones will only be activated if Stranger touches the trigger with his model, and not when he's OoB, but I've seen a few occasions where I believe the room loaded without me having to touch the exact trigger. If I could figure out how to load the Port Authority while being out of bounds, then I could skip the only difficult bounty in the current any% run. I've tried a whole lot of different ways to try to get the room to load, but maybe I'm just not thinking of something, so if someone could give me some ideas or something on what I could do, that'd be nice. |
I've just watched some of these videos and read through a bunch of the glitches you've posted. And I always thought Stranger's Wrath was one of the most non-glitchy games I'd ever played. I also always thought I was quite good at the game. This proves me very wrong in both respects.
Very awesome. I'm looking forward to the speedrun. |
I've decided to upload what I have of the 100% speedrun right know, so I can add the rest of the segments as I do them from this week and so on. Ignore the SDA intro and outro to the videos; this run should be on SDA soon enough.

I might redo this segment, but it looks alright for now.

Two more segments:
I would think about redoing this one, but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7hSQ4fQD9k this segment is almost flawless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xH-6XS5iaz8 |
|
I could only get through the hardest segment in this game by splitting it into two segments, so the two hardest segments are now done with:

Happy holidays. Here's the rest of the speedrun:

Wow (just watched last segment).

[reviving this thread for the OP]
|
Ive watched Sovietwaffle (A.K.A Studio) run it at SGDQ 2013, that was a pretty cool run.
I wont ever run it. I wasnt very good at the game to begin with. Ill stick with NnT. Im curious what defines a 100% run. Does that mean u have to capture every enemy alive? |
Maybe you have to get all the chests and native trinkets.
|
Hey, I've decided to compile all of the segments from my 100% run together to make one big video of the entire run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxF29a4lKuY
Also, me and some other members of SDA defined 100% as getting every source of moolah in the game except from the Clakkerz. It's a weird way to define the category, but that's what everyone agreed on. |
That sounds fair. Lot of strategies from trying to beat the bosses as quickly as possible without killing them. So wait, if you kill an enemy or a boss is the run over? That seems like a brutal category if thats the case.
|
Well, I did a segmented run of the category, so killing a bounty just meant restarting the segment. In single-segment runs of 100%, people would probably use quicksaves as well as the autosaves in case they made mistakes.
|
Ok. That still loses a lot of time, so in WR runs youll be resetting after killing 2 enemies. Ill have to watch one soon.
