This isn't about circumventing the rules. This is about sending a message that their rules are goddamn stupid. Also, hopefully, to send the message that changing said rules will be a profitable move.

Well yeah, I didn’t say I agreed with their rules.

Without going in to too much detail, the blockades Microsoft have thrown in our path towards getting SW to XBM is beginning to make me think that they've developed a severe allergy to money.

You should make a movie out of it.

"A man with so much money, that he himself cannot contain it.

The streets run green in Summer 2012

The Bill Gates Story"

Or maybe a song

"This yellow brick road
Aint made of no gold
Nah, not for this company
To the green they have an allergy
A new Stranger threatens their whole way
And by the time he gets there someones gotta pay"

i dont know, im so tired

We’ve hit 1,054 signatures by the way.

Wil 09-22-2011 02:43 AM

1055!

moxco 09-22-2011 04:41 AM

Any more spam from you Max and you'll have to give yourself a warning.

What has microsoft got to lose by publishing SW?

Phylum 09-22-2011 05:18 AM

Server space? Anti-money?

STM 09-22-2011 07:58 AM

I'd seen by my view of these types of petitions are jaded, especially since it has just over 1200 not 12,000 or 120,000.

Dynamithix 09-22-2011 08:27 AM

Well, considering it was made just a while ago, over a thousand signatures is definitely not bad.

Like I said before, they have rules and requirements for publishing on their platform. They can’t afford to just pick and choose who can get around them, that’s bad business.

Of course those rules are dumb, but still.

I think Microsoft have now broken that rule with Battlefield. PSN has a week exclusivity on the "Full Blown" DLC but yet xbox will still get it. seems like a contradiction on microsofts behalf to me.

im now gunna sign this petition

EDIT: heres the link by the way http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/...exclusivity-2/

If you checked the link I posted earlier in the thread, the “exclusive or simultaneous only” rule applies to titles, not DLC.

nowtun 09-22-2011 09:20 AM

no i didnt check, my bad

ah well

JennyGenesis 09-25-2011 09:45 AM

Rallisport Challenge was supposed to be an Xbox exclusive.

And it got released for PC...

I thought Psychonauts did badly because Majesco fumbled the marketing?

I thought the marketing for Psychonauts was pretty damn good. It's not Majesco's fault that people didn't want to buy anything that wasn't an FPS that year. Sometimes things just don't work, no matter how good of a job everyone did. The market, she is fickle.

Also, is that you Cammy?

STM 09-25-2011 12:34 PM

OANST in OD? What is the world coming to?

MeechMunchie 09-25-2011 12:51 PM

But talking about Psychonauts. Not quite as revolutionary as you think.

Sekto Springs 09-25-2011 01:35 PM

I loved Psychonauts, but I don't consider it the earth-shattering renaissance of gaming that lots of other folks do.

MeechMunchie 09-25-2011 02:07 PM

And the ending was pathetic. I would've at least liked a chance to run around Whispering Rock again.

You're kidding me, right? I probably spent a full third of the many, many hours playing that game just running around Whispering Rock. I was goddamn sick of it by the end.

Cammy is apparently still around, posting as Cammy. At least, he did yesterday. On the other hand, we actually like Glitch. He works for J.A.W.

Also, promotion for Psychonauts in Australia was non-existent. From what I've heard, it was a pretty similar situation in the other PAL regions. That said, we can't blame Majesco for that, given that it was published by THQ there/here.

You're far too kind :P

I regards to psychonauts, I can't say I ever got tired of that game. There was a point where I didn't know what to do and got a little annoyed, but once I figured it out I didn't stop playing until it was finished.

I can't honestly think of anything in Psychonauts design that I disliked. The build up to the end, the crescendo as it all came to the final fight, The use of Jungian Archetypes in new and inspired ways.

Perhaps the ending was a little "happily ever after", but I can't begrudge it that. It didn't feel forced; it felt like it sat perfectly with the universe as it was explained.

That said, that is still just my opinion, and I'm far from infallible.

It was less a complement to you than an insult to Cammy. :p

Whilst I really don't want this thread to devolve further in to a Psychonauts discussion, I should clarify that I only got tired of the campsite because I was obsessively combing it at every stage of the game to find every single item, character and cut scene. Other than that, I agree with your post.

I had that in everywhere apart from the campsite.

And that's why I hate Waterloo World.

Wil 09-26-2011 10:55 AM

Waterloo World is terrible for figments. They're just so invisible.

MeechMunchie 09-26-2011 11:29 AM

And one of them's outside the fence. Fuck you, Magenta Fairy.

STM 09-26-2011 11:31 AM

Waterloo Road is just fucking terrible. End of. =)

Dynamithix 09-26-2011 12:07 PM

Let's make this a Psychonauts thread, eh?

DarkHoodness 09-26-2011 12:51 PM

Sure, you had to thoroughly comb the worlds to get everything, but since the worlds were so colourful and well-themed while having decent level design, I didn't mind doing that at all. Perhaps one of the few games I've come across where I didn't feel like the optional side-quest of collecting things was a chore.

Wasn't there a Psychonauts thread in the non-oddworld gaming section?

MeechMunchie 09-26-2011 02:06 PM

We make a Psychonauts thread every time it goes on sale. And we always get a clone of the last one.

Sekto Springs 09-26-2011 02:15 PM

I had the obnoxiously french theme music from the Waterloo World in my head for a long fucking time. In fact, I think I still have it stuck there.

*starts humming La Marseillaise*

Fuck...

MeechMunchie 09-26-2011 02:42 PM

*Posts as invisible autoplay*

Nah, I'll save that for the Music Thread. I have a lot of accordion in my head right now.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/922157-ps...uts/faqs/37020

Wil 09-27-2011 02:34 AM

Yes, thanks, I know what GameFAQs is and how to use it. Doesn't change the game.

Nate 09-27-2011 03:40 AM

You may not have known that there were specific FAQs telling you where each individual figment is located. Makes the process of combing a level for one missing figment much less grindy.

Wil 09-27-2011 03:43 AM

I've already found that one.

EDIT: And, using it, every fragment in the game.

Nate 09-27-2011 03:46 AM

So what are you complaining about then?

Wil 09-27-2011 05:03 AM

Being patronized.

Nate 09-27-2011 06:06 AM

Rephrase: What were you complaining about before I posted the link to GameFAQ? The complaint that I must clearly have misunderstood as being about how difficult the figments were to find.

Wil 09-27-2011 06:27 AM

It was a comment about how difficult the figments are to find. There existing a guide doesn't change that.

MeechMunchie 09-27-2011 09:57 AM

Some people prefer games to be realistically completable without outside help.

If a guide is required to do something then it's probably not a good design. On the other hand, it's most likely a mistake on their part rather than an actual decision to make it impossible.
