I will definately agree with you that the Escalade is a pile of crap :)

THANK YOU. "CADILLAC" ON A CHEVY TAHOE CHASSIS.

Though, some black dudes and drug lordz might disagree with us, they like this pimpin' spinnin' gold rims to roll on their Escalade.

JennyGenesis 08-29-2011 11:28 AM

XLRV is another pile of tat from Caddy.

Would you hurt me if I admited that I like the CTS-V?

CTS-V has an interesting design, he's pretty hulky. I see a lot of those driving around so they're at least popular, wouldn't own one though personally.

If I could buy a new car, I'd probably go with the Honda Element. I sat in one of these at the dealership the other day (I ended up with the Forester) and my first thought was "Wow, suddenly it's 2011." I felt like I time traveled... to the present.

The bad boy has suicide-doors on it.

I love American cars despite their many stupid features and poor build quality. I suppose its the engines and looks of the cars that draws me to them. Sadly american imports are rare in the UK and the only ones sold here are Chryslers (Jeep and Dodge as well) and even then they don't sell the interesting cars apart from the 300C and Grand Cherokee in the SRT8 trim.

Vauhxall Astra 1989, quite possibly the best car known to man.

Cor, we can drive cars till 17 here. Can you even see over the steering wheel? ;)

JennyGenesis 08-29-2011 03:22 PM

Whats the worst car you guys have ever been in? For me it's a tie between these 2 pieces of Korean crap.

Hyundai Coupe

Daewoo Matiz

Scraby 08-29-2011 03:51 PM

yes i can see over the steering wheel im almost 2 meters tall :) ,as for the car it is quite powerfull,it can start quite fast and as for other things, you can steer it with no problem, especially when old grannies pop out of nowhere if they step on the road when its red light to them(yes they love to do that). The brakes are also good,as for the car is 20 years old it breaks like a brand new one :)

STM 08-29-2011 04:21 PM

GTA Rijeka, staring Michael as Niko Bellec, your grandma's number one enemy.

MarsMudoken 08-29-2011 04:42 PM

I don't have a car, much to my dissapointment. If I do get one, it'll be old fashioned, with red and green colors. I've got enough paint lying around to do it.

I'm also fairly certain I made a thread like this awile ago...

DarkHoodness 08-30-2011 01:35 AM

Worst car I've ever been in, eh? Well, my dad used to have one of these pieces of shit. I remember it broke one day and spent a year sitting on my driveway before it was towed away for scrapping, because my dad thought it was repairable even though it wasn't. Even before that though, it was constantly plagued with problems - Overheating, randomly refusing to start, randomly losing power. I think the ignition even died on him and he had to start it up each time by hot wiring the thing.

Austin Allegro 3 Estate. Yes, that's right - An estate car with 3 damned doors. It was blue, like this one:
http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1314696824

But here's a look at the front of this monstrosity:

Phylum 08-30-2011 02:02 AM

I can apply for my Learners permit in 7 months. I can't imagine my parents will like that very much. I'm sure they'll like the thought of my friends that they don't know driving me around even less.

JennyGenesis 08-30-2011 02:31 AM

Bet your dad loved that square steering wheel in the Allegro didn't he DarkHoodness? Yes they were very unreliable cars with poor build quality, just like all cars built by British Leyland, best car they made was the Rover SD1, but just like all their other cars, unreliable and poor build quality which is a shame because it is one of the best looking cars of all time and even had the option of the Buick/Rover V8.

I felt like I time traveled... to the present.

Given that your life is mostly spent in the late 1950s, I don't find that feeling so unusual.

If I remember correctly, he hated it so much that he went down to the nearest scrapyard a week after buying that blue monstrosity and had the steering wheel replaced. :P

Suppose I have to agree that the Rover SD1 looks good... For a Rover. But there are plenty of similar cars of its time period that look better than it.

The problem with most cars nowadays is that they all look like some kind of shoe.

Do you Love the Toyota iQ?

this. i hate the look of most modern cars. i like the appearance of the old Land Rover Defender because you can pretty much throw a bucket of paint over one and get away with it, seeing as it's usually covered in shit anyway.

I found this rather interesting, the General Lee paint job on a modern day Dodge Charger

Pilot 09-11-2011 01:08 AM

You know what, I'm going to throw this one in here.

The 1984 Mercury Cougar. I only went to look up this car because I remember my mom driving one when I was practically a baby. Up until '91 or so in fact.

She says that the commercial is what sold her in '84. She said just the other day that it was the new sleek looks that hooked her, like nothing she'd ever seen at the time. Her excuse for buying one was that my childseat wouldn't fit into my dad's Porsche, so they needed a Family Car. This was it, and I remember it well. :)

Yeah, so anyway, If I can work a deal, this is going to be my next car: The 1961 Imperial by Chrysler

Like most Yank cars, the interior on that Chrysler is awful!!!!!!!!
Speaking of Chrysler, I have the misfourtune of seeing the advert on TV for this awful thing lately, the Delta
http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezfl...cd_gallery.jpg
Though in my opinion there is only ONE DELTA
http://www.arrowsf1.co.uk/user/sites...ia%20delta.jpg

For some reason though at the moment I have an obbsession for this, commonly known as the "Bluesmobile"
http://www.perenichlaw.com/blog/wp-c...ide-impact.jpg

Ridg3 09-11-2011 03:13 AM

I nearly shit myself the other day whenever I seen a car. The driving side was on the left side. In Northern Ireland. With a Donegal (R.O.I.) license plate.

Pilot 09-11-2011 09:33 AM

The only thing I don't like about the Imperials starting in 1961 is that damn square steering wheel.

Yeah, you never hear about the Dodge Monaco EXCEPT in reference to the Bluesmobile.

JennyGenesis 09-11-2011 09:35 AM

The square steering wheel is your only gripe? The entire interior is a mess!

Pilot 09-11-2011 09:40 AM

Of course it is, this is from an era of sheer excess in styling. These designs were polarizing even when they were new. Some saw massive ugly excess and other saw new cutting edge spage age styling. Not much has changed.

JennyGenesis 09-11-2011 09:56 AM

One of the most important cars in automobile history for me
http://michianacruisers.com/images/m.../JS-67-GTO.jpg

Pilot 09-12-2011 08:36 PM

Here's a 1956 Dodge on ebay that my friend really wants.

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqF,!h8...PjNKgw~~_4.JPG

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqV,!ik...Sogcig~~_4.JPG

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqIOKiY...IVdhZw~~_4.JPG

The trim division on these cars easily allows for three-tone color schemes, thought this was EXPENSIVE for the factory to do. If I had one, mine would be Red, Black, and White.

Notice the left-hand keyboard control automatic transmission.

JennyGenesis 09-13-2011 12:49 AM

LOL at the massive brake pedal!

Seeing that car sort of reminds me of this, probably the color and similar looks.
