As for me, I like Facebook as a tool to keep in touch with friends around the world and acquaintances I feel warmly towards but not warmly enough to actually spend time with.

If I ever join Facebook I will make my profile picture a screenshot of my profile page.

Because I've always been pretty firm about not adding people from the forums on facebook. But then I added Nate, and then Sekto, for some stupid reason. Slippery slope.

Because facebook is the gateway to my personal life. While I've shared some pretty personal stuff with you turds in my blogs, I've been incredibly selective. But even in being selective, the things I've shared are things that some of my facebook friends don't always know about. Having the two things merge is unsettling for me.

You can block certain people from seeing certain things, I've blocked my parents from my status updates, since sometimes I like to bitch and moan about them and religion.

Its actually rare for me to even have a photo of myself. This is me now.

No, what I mean is that the things I share with the people here aren't always shared with my facebook friends [90% of which are my 'real life' friends], so the idea of people from the forums who have read things about my life that my other friends don't know about, then getting on my facebook and possibly mentioning something I've blogged about on my wall or something, I don't know. I think my friends would be offended that I'm often sharing more with you guys than I am with them.

As far as blocking status updates, fuck that. I know a few of my family members have 'hidden' my posts, but that offends me not. it's quite understandable, really.

I don't care if my friends are offended, my "real life" friends aren't really suitable or mature enough for me to share things with them that I do here.

It's not a matter of maturity or suitability in my case. If I didn't find my friends mature or suitable enough to fit into my life, they wouldn't be in it. I think the reason I share things with you guys instead of them is because you're so separated from my actual life. Which I guess goes back to why I'm wary of adding any of you on facebook.

I get it. Mixing friend circles can have weird consequences.

I keep my real life friends as friends simply because they are highly entertaining and we get on well and all that, but for serious moments and problems and things like that, OWF and various friends I have around the world who I sadly don't know in person are the ones I turn to who always help me.

That's a pretty sad state of affairs.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a pretty innocuous fella on Facebook. I'm not going to chime into your personal affairs unless I know you well enough to do so, or they somehow involve me. And I'll probably only ever see your posts through the news feed.

Most of the people I've added from OWF rarely say anything relevant to me or something I'm involved with.

I do sometimes like to tag people in retarded photos of things that have nothing to do with them. If you'd like me to leave you out of that, just let me know.

I put off adding anyone on owf to my fb when I decided to just make a separate profile for online buddies.

I really really hate the thought of mixing rl and online together. Mainly because I have an image to keep up irl, or rather the lack of. I don't really want the people I added to my rl profile to stalk me and see what I'm talking with online people about. On the internet I tend to be more brave and be more myself in ways that my real life acquaintances and friends would probably find weird.

Anyway, if you feel you'd like to add people from owf guiltlessly and worryless, you could always make a new profile :p
