I never dealt with a breakup.... Not one that counts anyway.... I guess Im really grateful for the relationship i have, despite how screwy it can get.

Rather I lent him my books and after we broke up he blocked all contant with me and refused to give them back.

Of course it's horrid. Nobody wants to hear about a man fucking his kids. It's a sad thing that it did take place, but, since his behaviour is considered socially unacceptable, and especially since there's a brand of humour out there which relies on the contrast between the joke and the accepted social practise, it is inevitable that you are going to be confronted with subjects such as this. Trying to ignore it will not help anybody.
