Sometimes redefining the keyboard commands bugged in my version of AO, which was odd. The workaround was to change the .ini file. Maybe something similar could have been done for a gamepad, but I never tried. |

I usually go with PC on everything, but in oddworlds case console wins... controls are smoother, and the sound is a hell of alot better. I cant even beat AO on PC because the whistling puzzles are so damn annoying!
|
I don't usually play anything on the PC, but I think console would be alot better.
|
I think I prefer the pc controls but only because I recently played the PC versions. All in all I think both work fine.
Now the PSP control setup on the other hand... . |
I choose both i have played AO and AE both ps1 and pc 100% but the console one feels bit harder than pc maybe cause i perfer pc but both are just fine
|

yes i have played on console, its just i dont play alot of anything on PC.
|
Personally, i prefer the console version.
The PC version feels more delayed in controls, and the music sounds like it was converted with a potato, but its got a higher framerate and faster load times. but... The PC version is scaled to shit. -------------- The console version is grew up with, so i can't really say anything against it, apart from the fact that it feels like its slomo. The controls react instantly on the PSX version, and its much easier to use the controller over the keyboard. |
It isn't scaled if you have a screen resolution of 640x480 or use DXwnd.
|
I feel there isn't anything wrong with the PC version aside from the music isn't as good as the Console version. The resoultion is fine on my computer as well.

I personaly prefer console because it's easier to control than on the keyboard. :)
|

|
I don't see why anyone would want to customize the controls. They just work.
Or maybe it's just because it was the first computer game I played. |
:
|
Abe's oddysee was my first COMPUTER game, so that controls are easier for me too

I got a Logic3 gamepad which is just a huge knockoff of the Playstation controller minus the analog sticks.
|
:
|
I know that. But considering all of them have analog these days I thought it would be best to describe that part.
|
Well if it's a basically a PS1 controller, then there's nothing wrong with it. It just counters what had been said about the PS1 controller being comfortable when there's a clone of it for PC.
|
But not everybody has a PS1 Controller clone for the PC.
My opinion was based on using the keyboard for the PC since I assume that's what most people use. |
PC cause the graphics are a little besser, controls feel tighter and i can play with my favourite controller.
|
Console, even though I must play Munch's Oddysee on PC because I haven't got any XBOBX.
I think that TV's graphic is better than PC's one.. |
I can't decide.
I have both of the original games on Steam, but I like to mute Exoddus and play the audio from youtube over it. The Mudomo Vault music is an ear abortion :fuzmad: |
Is it not hardcore enough for you? Do you think it needs more distorted guitar or autotune?
The music in Oddysee and Exoddus is fucking great. |

Console for the abe games, i do bad on the chase sequences with a keyboard plus the playstation controller has always been my favourite controller for some reason.
Doesn't matter for the 3D games, i use an xbox controller for the computer versions anyways. |
i think console is best but paul's level editor makes me want to get it for PC
|
:
I'm amazed because I adore AO and AE on PC |
People say they don't like the PC version because of un-responsive controls. This is not true. I found the PS version less responsive than the PC version.
You just need to get comfortable with the controls. |
The slightly laggy controls are in the PS1 version, too, it's just that people often have their fingers further from a keyboard key than a gamepad. They also may have a crappy response speed on their keyboard, or a shitty buffer.
|
I was referring to the PC version's music in certain levels.
The rest of the game is actually very well done with MIDI, but the Mudomo Vault and the sound when you rescue a mudokon are simply ear grating :o |

For fucks sake!
I never said the *game* was awful! I said the (PC/MIDI) <-- READ THESE WORDS) Mudomo Vault music and the rescue sound are bloody ear grating. Get that through your skulls for gods sake! |
