well we could find life on gliese
I wanna see close ups of Gliese. I'm so excited about that planet.
Shame we haven't the technology to reach it for another hundred or so years though! I more interested in the terraformation of Mars really and the possibility that such a project might unlock existing but dormant species.
Unlock dormant species?
This isn't an episode of Dr Who for fucks sake. |
Hey Phlegm, some scientists believe that certain microscopic species may be in a state of 'suspended animation' as it were and that by terraformation, they may be able to reproduce their dna again, which brings up the ethical debates of terraforming a planet as it may mess up ecosystems that could be reactivated given enough careful observation and understandings.

Who are "some scientists"? Can you please give a source?
Erm...wikipedia
:
you might find that on mars there could be phreastoric (no idea how to spell that) parasatic life on mars frozen in the rock, you never know, when we reach mars, or we could even send a probe up to revive them, its just a theory. |
But it sounds like some crappy si-fi movie plot.
Also it would take thousands of years before anything significant happened with those life forms... Maybe we should send a time machine to Mars to speed up the process!!
to travle in time, you have to travle faster than light, and the human body cant possibly travel at the speed of light as it would burst into atoms, you want proof? then wheres all the time travellers from the future?
That's not what I was talking about at all <.<
i know, i dont even know why i posted that:fuzconf:
If there is anything alien in our solar system, than of course it only can be a bacterium kinda life form. I doubt the possibility of any lifeforms on Europa. too many circumstances that make it more unlikely.
:
as for your travellers from the future example, traveling back in time is something completely different and theoretical impossible, as you could set off a paradox. so it is illogical ergo not possible. |
i think you watch too much dr who
You should do a little research before copying Phylum with such oh so witty remarks...Scrabface has only spoken what we know as true or what is held as the scientific standard, what with light speed being harder to achieve the closer you get to it.
This is off-topic, but whatever, you guys know that show called Life on mars?
Well, when they first started showing teasers of it on TV, I was excited, but then I saw a bit of the first episode and it was some retard getting in an accident and wakes up in the 70's. The fuck. Why call the show life on mars? I was expecting a cool sci-fi show. I heard it was an okay show though. |
Life On Mars was fucking great. it was called Life On Mars due to the contrasting way of life during the 70's compared to that of modern day society. he may as well have been living on another planet.
:
thanks for that, Watson.
It was also the twist ending of the US version.
No wonder it bombed.
In our Solar System? No. Elsewhere, maybe.

On-topic please people.

Aliens, the final frontier.
I think I caught a flying saucer over London in a photo I took while sight seeing around the O2...due want pictha? |
heres my conclusion:
the universe is endless, i dont just think aliens are real, i believe its teeming with life out there, but not in our solar system. i think my answer is the most logical one. |
the U-bend is teaming with life too, doesn't mean they're intelligent lifeforms.
no, but even if theyre not intelligent, theyre still aliens (the ones in space i mean, not your u-bend).
:
But there must be somewhere else in the universe where life is possible. However it is probably many billions of lightyears away... |
:
:
of course the universe is endless, if it wasnt what would you expect would be on the outside hmm? its impossible that anything can exist outside the boundaries of the universe because there is no boundaries.
What do you mean by universe?
Because you're full of shit either way. |
Then what the fuck is red shift? We know the universe isn't endless because there is an end to it unless it is globular or loops upon itself, either way just because we are centred in a pathetically central proximity when compared to it's fringes, it does not mean that the Universe is ongoing eternal.
then whats outside it? there cant be absolutley nothing because nothing doesnt exist, you cant have, no black, no white, theres always something, be it just darkness.
Well, you can have nothing...space being nothing, there wouldn't be any atoms or life, so my guess would be the switch to the end of the universe would be almost un-noticeable besides the direction of the end of the universe would have no stars...unless your believe in multi-verse but besides, the Universe is speeding away too fast for scientists to know the truth let alone me.
be that as it may, it still wont be nothing, there will still be black for example
Black is nothing...it's a lack of anything making it a term for nothing.
but its still there, the black is still there.
