I'd love if they continued making Oddworld-related media, but at some point the line between art and business gets blurred. Shit happens, and if you can no longer make a business out of your art, then you need to start exploring new venues before you can expect to get back on your feet.

As it is, Lorne has to re-establish himself before he takes on Oddworld again, especially if he expects to make it into a film(s). He endeavored to make five games, and a series of films based on the games. Before that he endeavored to make films only. Now who knows what he's got in store.

I do understand the problems Lorne and his buddies have faced over the years and as you said "you need to start exploring new venues before you can expect to get back on your feet." I just hope that they intend to get back on their feet rather than solely exploring new venues.

So what? If you start something and (you think) you have a better idea, why not do the thing you think is the best?

What I'm trying to say is that Lorne isn't particularly known for finishing what he starts.

But isn't it more of a "he can't finish what he starts" due to the large amount of financial, creative and business orientated difficulties?

I mean, you have to give him some credit, he did create 4 games and took a stab at his goal for finishing the Quintology.

I'm not sure what the difficulties are that prevents him from finishing any project in the last five years...

I'm simply hoping to see anything new coming out someday.

Haven't they ran into a large amount of financial difficulties? And hasn't their shitty relationship with EA games destroyed any involvement with the video games industry? I think Lorne's been rather vocal about many of the business related, creative and financial problems their company has faced over the years.

But since the website is coming up this month, I'm sure we'll be hearing about something sometime this year.
