Angela Lansbury was so hot in that.

Angela Lansbury is always hot in anything.

OANST 04-23-2010 11:19 AM

Murder That Pussy was her best work.

T-nex 04-23-2010 11:24 AM

12 Monkeys is really friggin epic too. And it's true. One of the best movies Brad Pitt's been in. His acting was great and so different compared to his other roles.
Anyway 12 monkey is one of those movies that I can watch only few times a year. It really overloads my brain with emotions and information.

Oh and Princess Mononoke is a cartoon, not a movie! >: (

It most certainly is a movie. It's a feature length film, and that's all something needs to be to be considered a movie. In fact, there are plenty of movie's that aren't feature length films, but if you are then you're a movie, no questions asked. Except by you.

No, I think you'll find being feature length, having a budget of over $10 million and having a theatrical release qualifies being a movie.

Also Meet Joe Black is my favourite romance movie, and coincidently my favourite Brad Pitt movie.

EDIT: Fuck that OANST

PalezQkkeli 04-23-2010 12:20 PM

I think the best Movie EVER is The Matrix.

The trilogy in It's idea was mindtwistingly epic IMO. Add Animatrix to the collection and you undesrtand more of the Matrix. It makes me think about stuff. And it make me question everything. Makes me very philosophical.

MA 04-23-2010 12:23 PM

i will now watch The Matrix and become an philosophical.

MeechMunchie 04-23-2010 12:34 PM

I will now watch Around The World In Eighty Days and become an Phileas Fogg.

Meh.. I dunno. I thought the definition of movies was well.. Physical movies, while cartoons are drawn or whatever.

Anyway if any feature length film can be a movie, I don't think the budget has anything to do with it. Meh. Back to the dictionary I guess.
It is really nice though =) Except the utterly depressing ending.

I like Meet Joe Black too ... It was interesting.

Edit: Actually, isn't a "Film" then supposed to define a physical movie? How do you make a distinction between a cartoon and .. bleh.. Now I'm confused.

You don't. When would you ever need to?

It's like saying that wild chicken isn't chicken because you're used to the term chicken meaning farm raised chicken. It's still a fucking chicken.

T-nex 04-23-2010 12:58 PM

Not really. There should be a word for both.
There are times when you need to make a distinction.
I mean, there are words for cartoons. Why not the other way around?
It's just weird to me that there wouldn't be a separate word for each.
I mean... In danish it's like that. We have the word "Film" and then "Tegnefilm" which is a cartoon.

OANST 04-23-2010 01:00 PM

I don't understand why you would ever need to make the distinction, but whatever. Let me solve this problem for you. Animated Film. Enjoy.

That still doesn't make any sense. You just made another word for a Cartoon.

Anyway you seem to be kind of defensive about this. I'm just sort of "huh" about it, cos it's something I didn't know. I always just thought the words film/movie was separate from cartoons or animated films. It's a language barrier thing I guess.

Oh well, the more you know.

Wings of Fire 04-23-2010 01:10 PM

Animation
Live action
Live action film
Animated film

Done.

Yes. I made another word for cartoon. Because you insisted that there must be one. And you're the one that keeps insisting that using the words movie or film is wrong. You don't get to just say that a certain terminology is wrong, have someone explain to you that it's not, and then say that you still think it's wrong or at least should be wrong for some inane reason that you thought up but anyways you don't care, and you think I'm being picky. YOU'RE BEING PICKY, YOU PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE ASSHOLE.

No! You misunderstood! >_< I'd want a word specifically for 'physical' movies. Aka movies that aren't cartoons since the words 'Film' or 'Movie' aren't specifically for that, which I initially thought.
The defensive part is just that I don't get why you insist there's shouldn't be any distinction between the two(this distinction is made in both my languages, so I just didn't see why it's not part of english too).

Again, it's just a language barrier. Take a chill pill >: (

I seriously hope y'all were joking about Blade Runner being great. Most overrated movie I've ever seen in my life. Saw The Final Cut and I wanted my 2 1/2 hours back.

So it's overrated because it has actual substance, meaning, poetic metaphors, great story and superb cinematography?
I don't see why you would say it's overrated, as I never see it being talked about in the same amount as for example LOTR or some other big movie. I think Blade Runner is popular amongst some people, but you make it sound like such a bad thing. It's kind of sad really, cos it's a good movie. Good Movies deserve recognition.

I've heard lots of people talk of it being a cinematic masterpiece. And no, in my opinion, its overrated because the story is pretty bland and could be wrapped up in 10 minutes, virtually nothing happens in the movie, the meaning is one that didnt require 2 and a half hours to tell and seems to be in place of an actual movie, and the poetic metaphors are overly flowery.

Each to their own but I personally find it a dreadful film.

OANST 04-24-2010 08:39 AM

It's ok to find it dreadful. Many good movies are not liked by a large amount of people. like you said, each to their own. But it's kind of wrong to go around saying that you hope we're joking when we say we like it, because that's more than each-to-their-own. We all have different tastes for a reason.

... Btw, I hope you guys are joking when you say you like American Pie. That movie was terrible!!

OANST 04-24-2010 09:35 AM

I liked it when he had relations with baked goods. That made me laugh so hard.

Wings of Fire 04-24-2010 09:35 AM

I liked in the third one where the dog licked his peepee

OANST 04-24-2010 09:39 AM

That's just good film making.

scrabface 04-24-2010 10:07 AM

I don't like American Pie because it has flat humour and you allways see where the scenes are going. And the plot's allways the same. I generally hate Teenie-films; Hollywood just discovered a new way of making more money and that's it, allways the fucking same plot with one-dimensional char.

Did you miss the part where the guy fucked a pie? Jesus Christ, have you no appreciation for comedy?

scrabface 04-24-2010 10:29 AM

that's it? I am creepy because I don't laugh about a guy fucking a pie? realize it guys; American Pie is fucking lame.

OANST 04-24-2010 10:32 AM

Dude. Wait. Dude. The guy put his penis in a pie. I mean, what aren't you getting here? I give up. Fuck this. Fuck this shit. If you actually lived in a real country like America where we have real men and real comedy you might get it. But you don't, so you won't.

scrabface 04-24-2010 10:37 AM

you Americans, so easy to amuse
