You should be fucking proud to own that watch, gold or not it's gorgeous.

Oddey 01-11-2010 10:19 AM

I'd think that watch was gold too, and I can see why you love it.

I get the Amiga and the fishing things too, but I don't really get the thing your grandfather gave you, as I can't really tell what it is. Enlightenment would be appreciated.

MA 01-11-2010 10:31 AM

its a metal detector.

and thing about the watch, i love it. its my most prized possession. its just they think its gold and it actually isn't, but that's what makes me love it more.

and Oddjob, kick back is fucking dangerous and i can understand why you got upset. when i was working for that tree surgeon that same thing happened to my boss, and he was wearing a safety helmet with a mesh visor. the thing cut straight through the mesh and sliced the bridge of his nose. shook him up, as it could have been his neck. i thought it was ambulance time.

OddjobAbe 01-11-2010 10:44 AM

Chain saws are certainly one of those things that I actually do have patience to use properly without cutting corners when it comes to safety. A lot of people I know who use chain saws have that "Oh, I'll be right, I'll just be careful! Bound to experience a little kick back every time I use it!" attitude, which I don't like (especially since the only safety equipment they use are gloves, which is pretty stupid). The only problem is, even with all the safety equipment, there's no guarantee that everything's fine. My chain saw has undergone a lot of modification to ensure safety - it originally had no chain brake, so the saw's been quite severely altered to have one fitted. Cost me quite a few bob, but as I always say, better safe than sorry.

MA 01-11-2010 10:59 AM

no chain brake? that really is bad. i would have gotten one fitted too, obviously. they are one of the few tools i am reluctant to use.

http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/HPIM2718.jpg Maybe this should be in WDYLL, but it is a photo of a photo XD It's been taken four years ago, and that's my little cat *.* I love him!

Disgruntled Intern 01-11-2010 11:09 AM

He doesn't look like he loves you. He looks like he doesn't even know you.

abe is now! 01-11-2010 11:15 AM

He was surprised about the camera and also we were out on the balcony and I don't know why he got mad when he was there, but I could take that photo the same! Anyway he doesn't love me, he hasn't never loved me, because now he lives with my grandma in the country :(

OANST 01-11-2010 11:15 AM

Awwwww.

Dryadri 01-11-2010 12:22 PM

@AIN, that cat looks freaked! Are you sure he knows who you are?

I have a crocodile skull on my shelf that has really sharp teeth, sadly no pictures unless I can be bothered to take some.

And these are my High Grade Universal Century RX-78-2 Gundam and MS-06S Char's Zaku II. They're original pair from the 1979 TV show.

I think I'm getting the Zaku II (Or something close) froma guy in exchange for a Transformer. It's called a Gelgoog. Had one as a kid, lost it, and now I have a new one.

Strike Witch 01-11-2010 01:34 PM

normal Gelgoog

Char's gelgoog

I kinda like the Gelgoog a lot more than the Zaku II.

Strike Witch 01-11-2010 01:36 PM

The Dom is the best of the OYW suits, man.

Wings of Fire 01-11-2010 01:49 PM

Well yeah, but the Gelgoog was a close second for me.

Discounting the actual RX-78-2, I have a soft spot for that one.

Mac Sirloin 01-11-2010 01:53 PM

Definitely Char's Gelgoog, then. It's not the one I had as a kid, though.

I did have this one, though:http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN71693
I wish they still sold these around here. I could not give less of a shit about the related media but the mecha themselves I've always thought were quite cool.

Do the prices here include costs of shipping? I would buy the shit out of this:

Strike Witch 01-11-2010 02:02 PM

No, the shipping is guesstimates as they ship all over the world.

if you're in the US use http://www.gundamstoreandmore.com/

Wings of Fire 01-11-2010 02:20 PM

I totally just ordered a Gundam and a OYW smaller Z'Gok.

All this excitement has tireded me out, I need a liedown.

Splat 01-11-2010 02:52 PM

MA, you win in the cool shizzle category! That watch looks beautiful, those books sound pretty cool and amiga is of course always epic. We have an old one hidden in the house somewhere, too... My Dad loved it. We had some great old games for it and stephen Hawking voice technology, but it all got relegated to the loft (attic) when we got our first PC.
Best I can do now is a Sega Megadrive and Sega CD.

I do have... (sorry about my awful phone camera)

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/5408/cybermen1.jpg
Five model cybermen from Doctor Who, from left to right, cloth-faced cyberman from 'The Tenth Planet' (1966, I think), their first appearance where they made the Doctor regenerate for the first time, cyberman from 'The Tombs of the Cybermen' (1967) holding two little cybermats which are small machines the cybermen used to use as scouts and saboteurs, Cyber controller from 'Tombs' which was the first cyber leader, cyberman from 'The Invasion' (1969) which were made on the cheap so they could make enough to make an invasion of Earth look convincing, hence boot laces and zip, and Cyber controller from the new series. Got these this Christmas.

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/8729/daleks.jpg
Classic daleks. I have these guys in their box still, hence the packaging material. Left to right is the first dalek from their first appearance, 'The Daleks' (1963), then some dalek supreme or something from some Third Doctor story, possibly 'Planet of the Daleks' and finally the first ever dalek (in series chronology) from 'Genesis of the Daleks' (1975, methinks). They live in their box most of the time under my bed and guard my Oddworld Art Book.

http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/5...niscropped.jpg
A clay model of Dennis the Molester Turtle from 'Wars of the Art' (a thread in NOA&L - check my sig) that I made when helping out with the youth club I used to be a member of. This guy lives on my desk (though for purposes of light, this photo is taken on the living room table :p)

Hey, ImageShack has become loads easier to use!

used:) 01-11-2010 03:09 PM

Fabio wears glasses! And has a cat!

I have a miniature violin my mom gave me. Great for maiking that stupid joke about playing the world's smallest violin.

Strike Witch 01-11-2010 03:11 PM

Here are some of my Chaos Space Marine models. I horridly painted them all myself.

exactly what happened with mine. luckily i've got quite a few games already installed on it, because a load of the game disks were thrown out. not for me, as it takes too long to set up anyway, but to the mate i'm giving it to.

Oddjob's gonna love the Daleks.

Splat 01-11-2010 03:41 PM

I really want to get a 'Give Quiche a Chance' t-shirt. I saw a fairly accurate-to-the-Red-Dwarf-episode one on the internet and am thinking about buying it.

Naulahauta 01-11-2010 03:42 PM

I own two, still functional Macintosh plus computers and a Macintosh LC (functional as well).

Rule #1 About collecting toys: You take your toys out of the box.
Rule #2 about collecting toys: YOU TAKE YOUR FUCKING TOYS OUT OF THE FUCKING BOX

Anyway, that Cyberman on the far right, how articulated is he?

Splat 01-11-2010 03:55 PM

My stepdad almost wept when I took the cybermen from their boxes :p They all look impressively accurate, and the new series one yeah, looks very good. It's the most complex model, and it's the most complex cyberman :p Actually you can see a lot more similarities with it and the classic ones when you have the models side by side. I did take a picture to show it, but the quality was really bad.

EDIT: ops. I hadn't noticed that it is so much big XD

MOD EDIT: FUCK. Sorry Abe Is Now! I was trying to edit your image to be smaller and lost it, please repost it :)

OTHER MOD EDIT:

AiN: I've resized the image and returned it to your post. Can you please take a look and check that you're fine with it?

I want! Goddamn you for actually wanting to be paid for your possessions.

As for my cool shit, I'll post once I actually own bookshelves and have transferred them from mum's to my new place.

Leto 01-11-2010 06:59 PM

i uh.. i didn't know you all collected toys

uh

Strike Witch 01-11-2010 07:14 PM

It's like a man at a hotel bar then realizing he's surrounded by fursuiters.

Leto 01-11-2010 07:18 PM

inb4 frame from fear and loathing with johnny depp at the bar and lizards

Pilot 01-11-2010 07:52 PM

Jesus, don't you kids own anything but TOYS? What a world.

I want! Goddamn you for actually wanting to be paid for your possessions.

Strangely phallic, isn't it? Kinda like my hair.

P.S. Everything I own is a toy. I'll post pictures of my real toys later.

Nate 01-11-2010 07:53 PM

I don't see anything phallic in either that box, or your hair. Your penis must be very, very odd.

If your penis really is that shape... I'm afeared that that you might have meant that as a pickup line.

Nice, I have a Plus too, and a fully functioning Atari ST. I still get more enjoyment out of it than my 360.

I have those exact same Daleks. They are holding up my Jesus action figure whilst infra-red control classic Davros looks on.

Fuck, I am sad.

MA 01-12-2010 06:37 AM

i am stroking my rifles.

now that is sad.
